That's a good point @Longwalker. I'm sure you'll be fine just for the one day but generally speaking you're right that not eating enough doesn't mean you'll lose. I believe it's something to do with the body hanging on to fat because it doesn't know when it'll get the next meal.
Where I come from, the best lamb is grazed on the salt marshes. It's delicious but it's hugely expensive. ☹️
ETA - I just checked and a 2.5kg leg is £46!🤣
Funnily enough the chicken we had last night was breast pieces and it was very dry and quite tough. They probably thought the more expensive cut was better but I'm with you on the thigh meat. It's far more tasty and moist. 😋

Had a better couple of food days.
Ended up not having time to get a hot choc during our walk in London yesterday evening. Some of the girls went to the churros stand and I managed to resist. My foot was in so much pain so was happy to just walk away and sit down with an apple while they went off for food.
Because of train strikes we ended up back in Luton, exhausted and hungry at about 10pm. I got to the restaurant late and ended up just sharing a big starter with my coach. Sweet potato fries with sliced steak and a tomato nacho sauce. Probably not all SW friendly but we walked a lot of miles to earn it!
Today I've had airfried courgettes in a salad with a spoonful each of houmous and coleslaw, lots of veg.
Tea was homemade tomato soup with some of the courgettes sliced into it and half a hexb of croutons. Really warming and tasty.
Treated myself to grapes and babybels this evening and half hexb of sugar puffs and my Options.
So I'm feeling satisfied and well-fed with healthy food for which I'm grateful.0 -

We get a lot of "flatties', thin slices of breast marinated, great for a flash fry supper with salad and spuds But usually I lift the legs and thighs, so much more versatile0 -
That was a good choice at the restaurant @NornironRose. There would be some fat in the frying but tomato based sauce is always the better bet. 👏
Hope your foot has recovered. Sounds painful. 🤗
So pleased you're feeling satisfied today. That's how it should be with SW. No need to feel hungry. Good luck for the week ahead. 😊1 -
Thanks Maman.
Got a rare Monday off so am excited to get out for a hills interval running session with my buddies.
Will try to take some time today to sit and plan a menu for this week.
Still have soup and croutons for lunch today and will have a banana before I head out.0 -
Morning all, forecast to be a dry day today but as we're going to be out and about for most of it I haven't bothered doing any washing as wouldn't be here to get it in if the forecast is wrong!
A good choice @NornIronRose in the restaurant - it was probably the most SW friendly thing on the menu and not too many syns. Enjoy your hills run session with your buddies today. All I'd say to that is "rather you than me"! I can't do hills very well walking yet alone running. Will definitely be good Body Magic.
@Longwalker - the mustard would be the same syns as any other mustard like wholegrain, Dijon etc so 0.5 per tsp. Not sure I could eat mustard on a slice a bread! I'd need something else with it like some cheese or ham!
Off to see DD2 today as she has an op on her foot tomorrow so wouldn't be able to get down to see us before Christmas and not sure when we'd be able to get up to see her either! She wanted a bean to cup coffee machine but was lamenting how expensive they are when she was here last time so DH got our old one out of the loft and has repaired that so we're going to give that to her instead of the usual money. Both her and her partner have always enjoyed the coffee from our machine so I'm sure they'll both be pleased.
Spoke to DD1 last night and for some reason she'd thought we'd said we were going away for Christmas rather than in January! No idea where she got that idea other than DH mentioning he'd like to get away next Christmas if we can afford it! She has now arranged to go to DD1 for Christmas dinner. Her partner is likely to be working as he is a chef so usually is but if he isn't he'll go as well. So at least I know it will just be DH and me so Beef Wellington it will be.
DH decided yesterday to buy an Air Fryer so that will come in handy. We'd actually been looking at them over the last month or so and I'd said we'd be better waiting until the new year and hopefully get a bargain but unfortunately once DH gets it into his head to get something it has to be NOW!
Today's plan:
B - mince pie baked oats (nothing like mince pie other than it has mincemeat, was very nice and will definitely do again) - HEB; P; F; 3
L - will be at DD2s so no idea but hopefully she'll have some salad or something equally Free or low syn!
D - eggs, chips, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms - P; S; F
HEA - milk
HEB - oats
Syns - mincemeat 3; plus whatever lunch contains
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Morning all.
My DH's the same @joedenise - once he has an idea in his head that's it and we have to drop everything else until he's finished 😆 Hope your daughter's operation goes well, shame about all the TGTG bags being cancelled on you last minute!
Enjoy your day off @NornIronRose - hope the foot's recovered enough for your running session!
I've gained a lb this week but that's because star week is here. Went out for an amazing roast dinner yesterday at a newly opened pub that had yorkshire puddings as big as your head 🤯😋 Was the only meal I ate all day and lots of veg so very happy.
Breakfast today was overnight oats with blueberries, lunch is carrot and sweet potato soup from the freezer and dinner tonight is a creamy Buffalo chicken pasta dish I saw a recipe for online, and very apt as the Buffalo Bills won last night so DH is very happy. Going to chuck some peppers in there and some salad on the side to help up the veg content.

@joedenise , hope all goes well with Daughters op. And what a wonderful present. So really thoughtful. I love my coffee machine ( separate grinder, both bought at cracking prices ) but I limit myself to just a few a week, Im sat with one right now. Love the ritual of making just me a cup, mums not allowed coffee and Mr L doesn't like it . I have my own fancy coffee mugs for it as well, no one else is allowed to use them. Was a gadget worth its weight in goldMy other gadgets worth their weight are my air fryers, Ive two as Ive said before. Made yoghurt in the 15 in 1 yesterday, and have just refrigerated a couple of kilo to see me through the week. Which air fryer are you going for? You possibly will still get a good price, I keep an eye on prices when out and about and Ive seen lots of deals on them, currys had £100 off the Ninja speedi for example . Ninja prices fluctuate weekly and sometimes buying direct is the cheapest option, esp if over 55 - extra 10% offMeal sounded lush @Ruby_eskimo Cant beat a good roast dinner. Ive just shoved a leg of lamb in the slow cooker , studded with garlic and rosemary and will be serving with mash for them and cabbage, peas and maybe cauliflower or I might hold on to that. Sawed a chunk off the leg to make a lamb curry, will set that to marinate now the yoghurt is made@Nornironrose, enjoy the run. Ive not got out for days , the rain has been of biblical proportions since Wednesday , everywhere is flooded and whilst I will go out in just rain, getting drowned as cars pass on the flooded roads isnt fun at all. You just cant avoid the flood spots as there are so many of them now, some roads resemble lakesWhen I finish my coffee, as I say its a ritual, I sit and drink it till its gone, not wander off and do something, Im going to dust, polish and vacuum living room and bedroom and do the stairs and hall. Time to think about getting the tree up and some decs I suppose. Once they go up, no more dusting till they come down0

Denise what a thoughtful gift. I'm sure your daughter will be delighted. I would be! Hope her op goes well.
I haven't used my coffee machine since I moved a few weeks ago. Really need to treat myself and make a cup. I use decaf ground as caffeine really doesn't agree with me with perimenopause.
Hills run session was great fun. We only run up a wee hill, then walk down and repeat for 2 x 10 mins. Plus a gentle run before to warm up.
Always sets me up for the day. One of my friends gave me 2 x 5kg dumbells so I came home and did a wee bit with them. They are heavy when you're in your 50s and not very strong!
Came home for a cup of tea and a big bowl of fruit and FF greek yoghurt. Might investigate using my instant pot to make my own yoghurt if it works out cheaper.
Have HM tomato soup and croutons for lunch. Then baby spuds and cous cous with a big salad for tea to fill me up.0
