Oh goodness I've had more bad days than good over the last couple of weeks. I missed WI last week because of MIL's funeral, and I kind of what off plan thinking that I had another week to be "good". Anyway, trying again today to stick to plan
B banana and yoghurt
L scrambled eggs with spinach
D at the pub its quiz night and we are having a basket meal so it will be chips with something like scampi or sausage! Going to try and mitigate it all by drinking diet Coke.
I will be glad when Christmas is over so I can get back to eating "normally", too many goodies in the house, too many goodies in the cafes!Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Afternoon all.
So sorry to hear about your friend @bubbs but great news for your mum.
Hope you're feeling better now @maman
Good to hear you had fun on your night out @Coxy11.
Well done on the tiny gain @joedenise, as you said lots of room for all the treats in the next few weeks.
Haven't been feeling too great myself as a lot going on with work which is overwhelming me so can't wait till next Friday is here for a little break! Got our work Christmas meal tomorrow - 40 of us having to trek across London for a few hours (the organiser left it a little late to book...) Think I've gone mainly for fish options with a little glass of wine on the side to be sociable.
Anyway, back to today - had overnight oats for breakfast, lunch was some home made tomato soup and dinner is a cheese burger bowl.

It was dreadful news about your friend @bubbs but probably harder for you and the family. Maybe there is a little comfort in knowing she was spared many years of suffering as can happen with that cruel disease. 🤗
I know most of us are trying to stay on plan as best we can over the next couple of weeks but you have far more leeway than the rest of us so you could nip out to the shed and...... 🤔0 -
Maman she has suffered 18 months not being able to eat, breathe, chocking on just fluids, the diagnosis put the name to it when they told her there was nothing wrong!
Her funeral has just been announced 22nd 3pm, but she was adamant it would be party and everyone is to wear Christmas jumpers/attire 🥰

@coxy11 , well done on sticking to the soft drinks when everyone else must have been under the influence, and for enjoying the evening. Id have said sod it and joined in and caught up PDQ@joedenise , well dont on such a tiny gain over so long. Im yearning for when I finally crack this maintaining malarkey@mamam, sorry you are feeling under the weather. Hope you feel better soon. And to top it all you missed out on egg and chips??? My most favourite meal in the world - with bread and butter and a mug of teaIm loving the idea of the steak and chips. I love real hearty food and whats not to love about chips and a good meaty gravy? I shall pinch that and stick it on the menu moving forwards. I have a couple of their books and love to watch them, the curry book is always in the kitchen, Indian restaurant style food , not fine dining but good and tasty as my favourite Indian was. The curry tonight was tasty enough, but next time - more chilli - bit too subtle for me. I do love their sausage casserole , which I haven't made since SW, Ill have to take another look and see what tweaks it needs. Its so flavoursome it will disguise any low syn sausage
I usually make it in the winter when Ive snaffled up loads of reduced packs of chipolata sausages
@Mrsporridge, we all have times like that, and this time of year you have to be a saint not to tbh.In AA we have to learn to live in the moment, and Im applying that to SW. I have a blip, I dont carry it forward ( hopefully ) every meal time is a new start so do what you can, when you can, even if its just one meal a day@ruby_eskimo , enjoy your works do tomorrow . Fish and white wine sounds so sophisticated and grown up and really nice in this season of general gluttony@bubbs , take things easy. Its not easy losing a good friend ( I was/am in the same boat this year) Its so very difficult , very, With my friend, I was probably closer then his birth family, but I had to keep my distance ( if that makes sense? ) I felt/feel Im managing the grief alone. His wife is my best friend and I have to go at her pace, we talk and laugh and cry when shes ready, if shes wanting to talk about him we do, otherwise we talk around., I dont feel I can just burst into tears out of the blue and admit Im missing him , which I really do, he was the most wonderful friend and neighbourGood and bad day for me. Had to travel down to Belfast this afternoon for a medical, left at 2pm and realised I hadn't eaten all day and it would be 7ish before we got in and dinner on the table, I had a small - 50gr?? bar of chocolate in my bag - small enough it was included in a Christmas card from work, so me and he shared it on the journey down. Arrived way too early so had a flat white in a cafe then had the curry and rice for dinner and a quarter of a garlic naan. Not a huge lot but I feel real bloated and not good. Thinking milk isnt agreeing too much with me, I know last week when my belly was poorly a cup of coffee really upset the applecart. I feel like Ive been eating bread, that tends to epand the waistline within minutes. Or it may be the sugar in the chocolate, I dont take sugar as a rule. So a bit down in the dumps today but back to work tomorrow and back to routine so should be feeling more on formTake care everyone xxx0 -
Morning all, we had a beautiful pink sky this morning out over the sea, just grey and cloudy looking out into the back garden (our living room is at the back of the house - stupidly!).
I'm not always as angelic with eating/drinking @Longwalker, it is just that I wanted to still be in target before Christmas which was why I went this week in case I was out and needed to go again next week which fortunately I don't. I won't be going back until at least the end of January and probably 1st week of February to try and get rid of the excesses of Christmas, New Year and my holiday!
When I have a drink while I'm out I tend to have either a black coffee or more often just a cup of tea as I usually find coffee out is far too strong for me. With chocolate I tend to have a piece or 2 of dark chocolate.
@maman - sorry to hear you've had the back pain but good that it's feeling better. Back pain isn't nice at all.
@ruby_eskimo - enjoy your works do tonight. It sounds as though you chosen very wisely with fish and just a small glass of white wine (I'd have gone for a large red!).
Today's plan:
B - bacon & tomato sandwich (can't face lettuce early morning!) - HEB; P; S; 2.5
L - Sweet potato jacket; tuna mayo, salad - P; S; F; 1
D - cottage pie, swede and carrot mash, green beans, peas - P; S; F (using up the LO bolognaise)
HEA - milk
HEB - bread
Syns - LF spread 2.5; LTL mayo 1
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Good morning,
Oh @bubbs that’s so awful about the funeral being right on top of Christmas but tbh it’s never a good time. Nephews was 30 December and for a good few years, NYE was a real struggle for us all. I love that your friend requested Christmas jumpers be worn and a celebration of life be had by all. Sending hugs to you x
Hope the check-up was okay @Longwalker and tbh you did well with your food given the logistics you were contending with yesterday.
Sorry you haven’t been well @maman and that you missed out on egg and chips!!
Well done on the tiny gain @joedenise and staying well within target! We too had a lovely sunrise this morning J
Enjoy your works do @ruby_eskimo – you have made some great choices there.
Very quiet in the office today – only 3 of us as 2 on leave, one off sick, one off on study leave and the other has a medical appointment. Another Christmas jumper day tomorrow – let’s hope I’m not the only one again.
Food today:
B – overnight oats, mullerlight vanilla, frozen cherries – HEB, 0.5, free
L – cucumber sticks, cherry tomatoes, 2 satsumas, apple, cheese portion, snack a jacks – S, HEA, 4
D – beef and mushroom stroganoff – 2.5
HEA – milk
Syns – 7 planned
We are seeing Wonka tonight – can’t wait, love TC
