Fab loss, well done on the stone shiny but most of all enjoy your afternoon tea! @MrsPorridge0

Hi all,
I made a nice spaghetti carbonara last night – quick and easy and hit the spot. Went next door to Sainsbobs at lunchtime to get some chicken breasts and single cream for tonight’s chicken pesto pasta. Syns for the cream and pesto but not a lot. I had a tuna and LTL mayo WM wrap for lunch with a portion of cheese, 2 satsumas and some cherry tomatoes to munch on this afternoon. I also have a Skinny light bar to eat en route home tbh it’s a bit scuzzy eating on a bus, so usually have it when I get home – I take it with me in case I need a sugar boost at work! Having said that…..boss has just dropped off a Cadbury advent calendar for each of us so door 1 has been demolished!
Have met many more people in the last few days and had a tour of many wards and speciality units here. I’m not loving it, I’ll be honest. Don’t get me wrong, I totally get that medical procedures are a fact of life but it’s all very matter of fact here. I’m just not used to that. It also feels very cliquey - I expected to feel more of a team member but no-one in my office takes a lunch break, they just eat at their desks, so I’ve been sitting alone in the canteen.
Ms Moanalot is off (non work day) and has leave Monday and Tuesday, so it’s a completely different working environment today. My redundancy was paid yesterday but DH taxed me in error, so they had to effect an emergency payment – I suppose it could have been worse with me owing them money!
Very nice of you @Jellybaby to continue working for another month to support your work colleague. Just think of the money and double whoop that boss will be down under for most of it!
I think the theatre session next week is breast cancer treatment @ruby_eskimo. Everyone I’ve met so far is amazed I’ve been given the opportunity (because they haven’t!) and have asked if I’m okay with attending. Beginning to feel a bit anxious now!
@NornIronRose – I am now craving sticky toffee pudding! We have a staff Christmas lunch on 19 December for which they have already pulled choices for secret santa. Will be interesting to see what happens – ie. Have they booked somewhere or are we bringing in cakes to the (not overly large) office….
Welcome @Mrbowie – good to see you here and good luck with SW. Please ask questions if you’re unsure what’s what. I can empathise with the 50+ meno bloat !!
@Longwalker – I too am a grade 5 A&C. My desk is ‘in’ the doorway so no way can I shut the door. Anyway I’d then be trapped with Ms Moanalot!
Excellent loss @maman!
I too could access Company Shop now @bubbs but none near me unfortunately! Sending hugs re: your dear friend and positive vibes for your DMum x Thank you for the veg wars info xx
Well done on the 1 stone loss @MrsPorridge – really great stuff x
Dad’s treatment isn’t going great. He has radiotherapy Mon-Fri with chemo as well on a Friday. They are being collected by Cypriot version of dial a ride from home around 7am because Stepmum won’t drive. He has to have a full bladder but empty bowel for the RT and hasn’t been able to do this since Tuesday so no treatment provided. They also cancelled his chemo today, so three days of a wasted journey. They sent him for a CT scan earlier but I’ve yet to hear anything. Stepmum is doing her usual, sending multiple gloomy stress voice and text messages which are very unhelpful. Just tell me the facts ie. No treatment today, CT scan is clear etc. – I don’t need the full gamut of info about bowel and bladder activity, what he’s eaten and drunk and how she’s feeling.
We are off to see Saltburn this evening with DD. Let’s hope Gary Glitter lookilikey isn’t in my chair again !!

FANTASTIC @mrsporridge. That first stone sticker is such a milestone , really makes you feel you are going to crack it, I was over the moon when I got mine. Hope the afternoon tea was as special as you hoped for@coxy11, the first office I had back then, was reception for booked admissions so was busy and noisy in the mornings. Afternoons, just me and Mrs Sniffalot, drove me bananas . Dont get me wrong, we became good friends, but she had a habitual sniff and thats all you could hear, that and the tick of the clock - another sound I cant abideSorry things are so rough for your dad at the moment with his treatment. Its the same here, got to travel to Belfast twice a day if you are getting both Chemo and Radio. They do have some day rooms put aside and theres a hotel which give cheap hourly rates for patients, but its hard on people, very hard@bubbs, well done on the loss. Do you now have to go put some weight back on or start paying till you get into range again?I had the day from hell yesterday, seriously hell. So much so that driving home an my watch started beeping and vibrating - seriously high heartbeat. Stressed beyond belief , all because we have a chef who really cant ruddy well cook. I was taking out pure slop and then lifting it and scraping it into the bin. I complained three times to my manager, customers were complaining left right and centre, and still he sent out slop. I was in tears at one point and had to go take a few moments. It was such chaos I never got to eat and by time I felt I didnt want to eatYou know Ive been complaining about my tum and bum for the past week? This morning it all came to a head, I was sat there bum on loo, head in bowl, sweat pouring of me, doubled with the cramps. Still it passed within about an hour so dragged myself in to weigh in. Not an easy feat -3, freezing fog. But the purge must have done something - 3 whole pound off
So back down to 1lb below target - happy days
Works do tonight, Not looking forward to it cos Im still cramping, but popping an Imodium to get me through. Still not being on form is a good reason to leave relatively early, just listen to the carp and eat and go. Still I have my dress that I feel a million dollars in , treated myself to some seriously bling earrings so Im feeling confident in how I turn out. Our sister store is all high end fashion, the ladies there look a million dollars in work, they are going to seriously glam up tonightWe are an older crowd in our store - over 60s is the norm, our staff are all about comfort and warmth, its going to be amazing to see them glammed up

Well done on the loss Bubbs and LW! Hope you do feel better LW, that sounds awful!
I'm back on track today after the work do last night. Food was good. Mine was fairly SW friendly apart from the pastry on the tarts but it was thin and the tarts were small.
I chucked some baby spuds in the airfryer so was snacking on those for brunch. Now getting another flat tyre changed! All 4 in about 2 months.
Will have an omelette with a big salad and some more of the spuds when I get home. Determined to stay on plan and go to the new WI on Wednesday so get an extra day to lose a wee bit. Probably put on a couple of pounds this week with the 2 dinners out and a carp day in between.
So will stay low on the syns too. Load up on fruit n veg with hot cups of tea.
