Morning all,
So sorry to hear about your friend @bubbs hopefully you can spend some time with her. I'm sure your mum's scan will be fine but as you say there's always something.
Fab loss! @SingleSue
Laughing at Miss Moanalot @Coxy11every workplace has one 🤣. I find it hard not to wind them up - or maybe I'm just on countdown and don't care anymore!
Thanks for all the comments on my friend. I was in a similar situation twelve years ago and my boss at the time was excellent. We don't have that now unfortunately. Upside is horrid boss will be in Australia for three of the weeks - happy days!
Dinner last night was excellent but I'm feeling bloated today too @Longwalker I think I got a bit carried away with the roasted veg!
Today's food:
B - toast (HEB), lime marmalade 4 syns
L - baked potato with l/over chicken curry
D - meatballs, spaghetti, Parmesan (HEA)
Have a good day everyone.

Hi newbie to this thread, hoping to try and lose 7lb. I initially lost almost 3st with ww, started it in 2017 I got to gold by April 2018 and always managed to maintain. Then my local meeting closed. I joined sw last year and have the books so I thought I'd dig them out and try again, had a crap year but can see the light now.
I'm hoping to find inspiration on here to spur me on, i'm female by the way late 50's generally fit, but getting the meno tummy.1 -
Welcome aboard @MrBowie. SW is a lot different to how I remember WW ( 90's ) so it was a bit of a head spin for me . Im touching 60, post menopause now and look like a football on legs - really round about the belly . I started the beginning of May with the intention of losing a stone, which I did sometime during the summer, but have carried on and lost 1 stone 10 now. For me its been slow, very slow, a 1lb here , 2lb there, but its always been a loss - until I called target and learning to maintain. You will be grand once you get the head around the plan, not the difficulty of it, more the " I can really eat pasta and as much lean meats as I like and I will lose weight"@coxy11 - Grade 5 A&C - and I hated every minute. Luckily the last five years I had my own office so could shut the doorYou are doing great @singlesue , esp considering how poorly you have been these past couple of months.@bubbs - what a mare of a day, I hate those days with a passion, end up like a headless chicken. Im so sorry to hear of your friend, a dreadful disease ((( HUGS))). And fingers crossed for you and your mum , she must be petrified@Ruby_eskimo , Im with you on the moving front, even though I rack up the steps in work (12k in four hours ) I need a good outside walk as well. At the moment Im missing the evening walks as Im not getting home till well after dark and by that time the ice is beginning to form, Ive the night time gear, but Im not risking a fall. Today I wont be out at all as hubby is off and did the dog walk but I finish early enough tomorrow and Park run on Saturday@NornIronRose , Im glad the post was of some help to you, I know you dont feel supported in your group and support is 9/10's of the battle. Sometimes its just someone coming up with a suggestion on a snack or telling group about their struggles, I know I really need the support and accountability of weigh ins/group and here . So you had a pudding, so what? You have probably eaten so little it wont make a jot of difference so draw the line and plan for today.I too have works do this Saturday. I think its the traditional Christmas dinner which Ill be safe with as I dont really like other peoples Christmas dinners lol. What I mean is here in NI, we have the same meal served everywhere, a Turkey and ham parcel which are pre made and nuked, sat on top of a huge dollop of mash potato ( which I dont eat ) a roastie which is usually a deep fried boiled potato - yuck , with carrots and parsnips and Brussel sprouts and cocktail sausages - and it all depends on the cooking of said veg that makes it a decent meal or not
Oh and its usually pre smothered with gravy. So I find I tend to just eat the meat and pick about the plate eating the veg that is tender enough or not too soggy. Mind I might be surprised as the hotel does have a good rep so it may be decent enough
Anyways Ive made me yoghurt so its that for work today and I have chops out for tea so all good there. Still incredibly bloated, not even windy just bloated1 -
@Longwalker thanks for the friendly welcome, wow you've done amazing. I'm just dipping my toe into the water with sw and finding the right things to eat, im sure it will be hit and miss till the festivities are over but at least I'm getting in the right headspace. It's difficult to get to a group as they don't generally coincide with my days off work.0

Welcome @Mrbowie. Great idea to make a start now, so easy to just keep putting things off. I'm assuming you plan to go it alone, using your books rather than attend a group. That's perfectly possible but do ask if you have any questions like syn values or anything at all.😊
Sorry to hear about your awful day @bubbs. Sending you a big hug.🤗 I'm glad you stayed on plan as keeping your strength up will help you. Hope you enjoyed your first chicken casserole! I use a recipe from an old Co-op magazine from years ago that fits SW perfectly, like yours there's only cornflour to be synned.
The Neville's bread is a Tesco own brand @NornIronRose. Like @Longwalker said, it's so useful to have two large slices of bread either for a sandwich or to split between two meals.
Happy St Andrew's Day to you too @beanielou .We had an early celebration last Sunday. I bought some Proper crisps on your recommendation when I was out this morning. The plan is to keep them for Christmas. 🤔
Well done on your increased exercise @ruby_eskimo. I'm sure you'll get back to your running soon. It's less than a month to the shortest day and starting to get lighter! 🤣
Congratulations on your 2lbs loss @SingleSue. You've done so well. Delighted for you! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I think there is a certain amount of calorie counting built into SW, after all fruit and veg is far lower in calories than other foods and having lean protein and plainly cooked carbs cuts out loads too. Apparently 1 syn approximates to 25 calories as a rule of thumb. There used to be someone on here that did SW alongside the MyFitnessPal app so she ate SW and checked the calories at the same time. Personally, I like the fact that I don't have to count calories but I can see why it would work for some people.
I wonder if Miss Moanalot is enjoying having a fresh pair of ears in the office to batter @Coxy11? Hopefully you'll get used to the new routine. Well done for preparing/planning your lunches .👍🏼 Good news that your boss won't be there for three weeks @Jellybaby, that'll make your extra time so much easier to cope with.
I went to WI this morning and thrilled to have 2.5lbs off!😁 So I'm well in range now and no need to go to WI until the end of January although consultant did say that if you want a new book free then you'll have to WI between Christmas and New Year.
