Well done maman!!!!!!
Welcome mrbowie. I'm fairly new here too and the support has been brilliant. I'm in my 50s too. Fairly fit (apart from arthritis and various other pains), almost menopausal, and have lost 1.5 stone with 2 more to go.
Not feeling it today as yesterday was a blowout and tomorrow will be too with the xmas dinner. So God forgive me, but I just feel like writing all 3 days off and just eating whatever I fancy tonight. Then getting back on plan on Saturday.1 -
Evening all 😁
Thanks everyone for all your support you honestly have been invaluable to me this year 🥰with all the support with Dad being in hospital for over 6 months.
I was gutted (obviously) when my friend was diagnosed and considering it was about 4 weeks ago and Monday they told her about 2 months 😫😫but she didn't want to tell me because of Dad 😍 i am just gutted she will do anything for anyone, not a bad bone in her body .
Mum was a bit better today, she said she was just shocked as they said she would hear in 2 weeks and it was 3 days! I am taking her hospital anyway.
Welcome Mrbowie , you are in a lovely thread here, i have been here since the year dot 😂but i am a target member since 2017 but i still go to group everyweek. I am a big eater so don't be astounded by my pics 😂 but i don't eat many carbs.
Sue and son, just WOW!! Very well done to you both.
Coxy, how is your Dad? Miss moanalot made me 🤣
Maman i used a packet mix, but there was over half left.

Oh dear @bubbs, another adventure with the car! No frost here this morning but still very cold. 🥶
Just thought I'd mention that you have very few carbs because of your diabetes. That's right isn't it? 🤔 I eat them with most meals and have stayed at target for 12+ years, just in case anyone thinks they aren't good for you. The new potatoes with dinner were lovely. I cooked extra to fry up with lunch tomorrow. 😋 With protein and plenty of Speed of course. 😇
My consultant gave out a calendar for December at our group today @NornironRose. Actually it's from yesterday until 2nd January. That's 105 meals. The idea is to mark in the days when it'll be harder to stay on plan and then try to be really good on the others.
So, if I were you, I'd enjoy your festive meals out (and those at home over Christmas ) and try to stick to plan in between. It's the 'good when I can' mantra that @joedenise uses.1 -
Good plan! I like that idea of doing my best when I can. My biggest problem is that I have a bad couple of days and get detailed0

Yes that's right Maman
Oh i missed you went to group, how did you get on?
No frost !!it was freezing everywhere was white and foggySealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance::dance:0 -
Yes carbs are important to a balanced diet , always have been ( Im a 60's child so seen fads turn full circle ) , its just learning to only enjoy them as a meal - and not a snack ( imo ) so the crisps , popcorn etc, keep to a minimum and USE the carbs to the best for YOU - for me its either bread or pasta nowadays , not a crisp butty and a bowl of pasta with just olive oil and parmesan@bubbs, many a morning here I cant open the drivers door and have to shimmy across from the passenger side ( more sheltered so doesn't freeze as hard ) thankfully this year theres a lot less to shimmy
OMG its ruddy cold. -2 at the moment. Im not leaving home till 11 am, roads are well gritted, ice should be well melted but yesterday a BMW on its roof on the roundabout and this morning a SUV pointing the wrong way into on coming traffic after taking out a central reservation !!!!!!. Funnily I feel fine whilst driving, I learned to drive here on country roads full of ice, yet my watch shows the stress levels are through the roof
I do feel for your mum. Im glad shes feeling a bit better today but you have to be understanding her worry, and I guess you have the underlying worry as well? We always hope we dont hear back when we have tests, so hearing back so soon , its unsettlingOh and I think I need more then a trump lol. I really dont know whats going on. Nothing serious I know, Im windy one minute, constipated the next, eye of a needle another time - all in the one day. I know I have upped my speed which could be the reason. Plus Ive had a few really rich meals out which I haven't had for so long, poor bum and belly doesn't have a clue whats going on lol@Nornironrose , we have all been there. Wether you draw the line tonight or tomorrow, the fact you are putting down in words that this is how it is for you right now, says you want to carry on. So draw that line, wipe the slate and start fresh. Tomorrow is time enough. I know my works dinner will be off the scale ( booze rather then food in my case ) so Im planning for it. Weigh in at 8am, park run at 9:30 ( we are lazy here in NI, we do 9:30 rather then 9) and no congratulatory scone and coffee, rather a BLT around 11am - HEB, free and speed galore. I never ever sweat about eating out , yes I do tend to choose the better options - pasta and rice rather then the chips - did I say I love chips? - but thats about the only thing I avoid. And Ive always been one to choose a starter rather then dessert , although I LOVE Christmas pudding.Excellent result @maman , were you aiming for that? Still getting my head around this is not a diet and now a way of life so as Ive said over the past few days, Im still finding the balance. Hopefully Ive lost my gains this week but it has been a case of going back to weight lose@Mrbowie, we are a real friendly group here, hell they welcomed me with open arms and have put up with my whinging and screaming these past months. The one mindset I would say to try to get into is, a blip only ever needs to be a blip. Write it off and start again. A slice of cake and a few mince pies and a handful of chocolates - it happens at Christmas. Just be aware, register it internally and say ok, blew it there, but also accept you haven't blown it big time. You cant change the past, you can only change what you do next. Hold on to that and you will be grand, we all are, all of us here are human, we !!!!!! up, we go off track, but we come back and we move on.
As for me today - I deserve a gold star tbh lol. My yoghurt, fruit and oat bran at 12pm before work and came home to bubble and squeak, a pork loin chop ( no fat) and air fried mushroom and tomatoes - a saint hood surely? lol1 -

I'm sorry if I give the impression it's easy. It's definitely not. It's probably even more difficult for you if you have to buy in treats for your DD. I've just found that, over time, eating SW is my default and I can get back easily. It's the getting back that really matters, you can't change what's happened.
Personally I just love being able to wear my 'thin' clothes and it's very mse too as planning means I only buy what I need and food isn't wasted. 👍1
