@coxy11, thanks , I didnt realise it would be harder then actually losing. Ive got to get my head around that I haven't finished a diet - and then YoYo _ but Ive now got to train myself into new lifetime habitsOur consultant actually spoke about herself this week, she has never gone above target in 3.5 years, I need her head space. It will come I know but so upsetting right nowAnd the very best of luck in your new post. I did 14 years for the NHS - had a breakdown aged 35 and never worked full time since so I admire you BIG time xxx The most stressful and thankless job I ever had@MrsPorridge , alas it never stops at that first stone. Then you chase the 1.5 and then look to the 2 stone. I was just 3lb away when I called target. I thought I was there, in my head, settled, and now finding im not and its really bugging me@Nornironrose, me and you seem to be similar, our choice of exercise is walking. This past week I have really slowed down - not getting in till after five and we have had terrible stormy weather - like hold on to the car door for dear life type stormy. Still getting the steps in, but no exercise ones at pace . Im doing 26 miles next June - Mcmillan Mighty Hike, I did the 13 miles last year and was so fat I got stuck in a stile , but still finishedI dont understand why they are medicating for BP so quickly? Are you happy with that?? Have you even had the 24hr monitor yet? Ive serious high BP, have had since my 20's - intensive care twice, yet at 130/80 it was agreed I could stop ( never been very compliant anyways ) and although I spike around 12ish, it settles so Im happy not to be taking the meds.Jumping on the scales mid week is a double edged sword. I admit I do so come Tuesday as my WI is Saturday and its the weekend and Im very lacksey daisy with choosing the best options, so I check in on a Tuesday to see how hard I have to be for the next few days. And typing that , its dawned on me Im still on yo yo diet mindset , look how I fared this week, thought I had a pound off, took my eye off the ball and now Im 2lb heavier then I want to beBeen an up and down weekend for me. So pee'd off at myself so had a veggie wellington for tea on Saturday. Cant mind the last time I had pastry and tbh it was lush and I took it with a huge plate of salad and one potato cut into air fryer chips so not the worse. Ive had my usually Sunday roast dinner - all air fried so no added fats so not the worse but I know its going to be a gain again this week. Really really struggling right now0

Aw Longwalker hopefully you will be ok and be in target. Tbh I really don't like the whole SW obsession with food. It seems that if you have one blip, then the weight just goes back on! Not you LW, I mean generally.
As for the BP meds, I have been doing my BP twice a day (most days) and lowest I've had was 144/84 but mostly the systolic has been in the 170s or 180s.
Trying it for 2 weeks then going to give the GP the new readings when he reviews. I am happy to start them as it is far too high consistently. Really don't want to have a stroke!
My Tues evening class that I go to is being closed despite a regular 15-20 people each week. I actually felt for the consultant when she spoke about being dumped out. She had quite a bit of support from the group. But did also mention how crap SW is!
There is another on a Wed which is is a better time for me so will give it a go.
Right, time to crawl out of bed and get ready for work. Have a good day everyone.0 -
Morning all, things have been rather busy around here recently so haven't had much time for anything other than work and sleep. Weight loss has gone by the wayside really but I want to get more focused. I've put a couple of pounds on but it could be a lot worse! So here I am, back ready to go and hoping to feel a little more comfortable before we end this year.
Breakfast was a coffee as wasn't hungry, lunch is going to be a stir fry of random veggies with some leftover chicken added in and some noodles. Dinner is a portion of HM fish pie that I found in the freezer, with some broccoli on the side. I'm stocked up on fruit for snacks and might have a hot chocolate in the evening if I feel like I need a sweet treat.
Hope everyone is doing well, sorry I haven't had a chance to catch up on the hundreds of posts I missed. Hello Ruby Eskimo. I'm a newbie here but getting lots of support.0

@Coxy11 I hope that today is going as well as possible. Very best wishes for the new start tomorrow.
@lLongwalker I have been at goal weight for 12 weeks, the lovely people here said that it was sometimes harder to stay there than it had been to get there, for the first 10 weeks I did fine, but for the last 2 it has been a struggle, given into temptation too many times, don't know why, nothing awful happening except major brain fog stopping me planning and prepping properly, then just eating first things at hand. Drawn a line now...
I am another that likes to be outside, dog walking, shopping minus car when possible, enjoying the wonderful Autumn colours, because of dog it has to happen whatever the weather and even in the rain I come back revitalised Average presently is 3.1/2 miles per day.
@NornIronRose sorry that your class leader has lost her class, but hope that the new one suits you better. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)1 -

There is a focus on food @NornIronRose because, while exercise is good for you in so many ways, it's the food that really makes the difference to weightloss. I think the 'obsession' is because unless below target, we're trying to stay within a very tight 3lbs window and that's the hard part but I think it's worth it and have managed to fit it into my lifestyle. I've been close to target for 12+ years and @joedenise much the same. Using the syn bank (105 a week rather than 15 per day) means I have a fairly synful weekend and then eat almost syn free during the week. I prefer it that way.
I go out of range every time I go on a long holiday, sometimes more than half a stone, but what matters (to me at least) is that I get back to my normal/SW eating habits when I return even if it takes me a few weeks. For short breaks, like Christmas, if I time it right I can put on a few lbs and lose them again within the 8 week WI window for target members. I'm happy with that.
Not decided on my veg for dinner yet. Probably a mix of green stuff from the fridge and some roast, spicy cauliflower.🤔
Good to see you posting again @ruby_eskimo. 😊
Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, fried eggs (P), tomatoes and mushrooms (S), HEA milk @ruby_eskimo
L- ham (P), 1 potato (F), fried eggs and pickles (S)
D- baked cod (P), SW chips (F), Speed veg (S)

Evening all
I agree Maman it's a lifestyle change, yes have a treat but be careful for a couple of days, i have been at target or in my case at the minute below target since 2017 and tbh i eat so much nice food i don't often feel restricted, Christmas i usually put 5/6lbs on as once i start eating crap i don't stop, so i always say a day i am going back to healthy eating and try and stick to it as i don't want to go back where i was!
I also NEVER exercised just did normal every day stuff although at the time my job was cleaning houses, so active all day.
Welcome back Ruby 😁
Rose we have a temp consultant have had since July time , we want to keep her as she is fab! SW saying no as out of her area, but they cannot get anyone for love nor money so don't really know what is going to happen as we usually have 70 ish in our group and the next one is about 40 😏 but she says she won't leave us without one
Hope weigh in goes ok Beanie.

I agree @bubbs. I really enjoy the food I have on SW. I'm never hungry and, once you get used to the plan, it's so simple. Basically, you can eat as much as you want provided it's the right healthy foods in the right proportion (I always have more than a third of Speed across a day to be on the safe side).
Tonight we had carrots, roast pepper and cauliflower , mushrooms, asparagus and broccoli alongside the fish and chips.
There's no calorie counting involved and only a very little measuring/weighing of ingredients. Some of those things are done for you like slices of bread, Weetabix etc. To be honest, I rarely measure cheese or milk any more. I did it to start with and now I can go by eye.0
