    Hi everyone,

So that's a wrap as they say. Last day at work was particularly frantic as still no-one to hand my work over to so ended up sending lists and processes of how to do certain things to my boss. Not ideal but no other choice.

TOTM came on Thursday evening - very bad cramps and heavy - first since July and really thought I'd left that chapter behind, but alas no. I ate badly yesterday - 2 satsumas for breakfast around 11.30am, some chocolate, then a bread roll and some mango for lunch around 3.30pm. For dinner I knocked up a SW BNS risotto which nice if a little al dente. Would cook for longer with a bit more liquid next time.

I'm not going to group this morning as planned to visit a quilting exhibition with a fellow WI member but she's pulled out at the last minute. Will still go though and as I'm going by train, I'll stop off en route home to get some gifts at the big shopping mall. We are seeing Napoleon this afternoon.

I have been organised and ordered a food shop to be delivered mid-morning. Lots of lean meat and fruit. Will grab veggies as we go this week I think. Still need to officially meal plan but will do that later.

Good loss @MrsPorridge - that 1st is in sight!!
Hope you manage a gain @bubbs (what kind of thread IS this?!) and get back into target range.
That meal sounds lovely @maman - great that you could load up on veggies.
Happy holidays @joedenise - have a great time xx

Sorry if I've missed anyone xx

@maman that salmon dish sounds amazing.

    Today's plan
    B overnight oats
L rest of the carrot soup
    D out at the friends

I have made a farl from Paul Hollywood's book and that will go with the soup for lunch - I won't have any of the bread though as we are out tonight.  I want to limit the damage by tonight where I won't have any control.  I need to lost at least 1 lb next week!

Hi everyone, just skimmed the last few posts and good news on the job front @Coxy11 you’ll be so happy to be finished. Work and caring duties are ruling my life but changes are coming (big brother is not going to be happy 🤣 but little brother and I have come up with a plan 😜).

Have a lovely holiday @joedenise hope the weather is good to you. Absolutely freezing  here this morning when I left for WI and still not warmed up any.

Well another STS! I think my body is practicing for when I get to target 🤣🤣 Took mum for her shopping as usual but will get mine tomorrow, want to have a think on what I could do differently and shake meals up a bit.

Haircut day for me too @bubbs 😄 enjoy the musical.  Well done on the loss @MrsPorridge! Apologies if I’ve missed anyone, got lots to catch up on!

Hope you're having a good day @Coxy11. Yesterday must have been very strange especially as you couldn't do a proper handover. But it's not your problem now. Onwards and upwards! 🤗

I'll be interested to hear about Napoleon as we're thinking of going.

Good to hear from you @Jellybaby. You seem to be hanging on in there including the STS. 👍 Hope the plan works to your advantage and sets you up for your retirement.🤞

It's difficult when someone cooks for you @MrsPorridge as it seems rude to refuse anything. Hope all syns are worth it. 😉

I need my hair cut too. My hairdresser was ill when I rang this week so 🤞she's better soon.

It was gloriously sunny today but chilly, first frost this morning. We got out for a walk, 10 000 steps.😁

I've been cooking this afternoon while listening to my rubbish football team throwing away a match. ☹️ I've got savoury mince in the SC, tomorrow's beef in 'red wine' ready to go in the oven later and tonight's dinner all prepped.

    Today's EE plan -
B- HEB toast, fried eggs, bacon (P), tomatoes (S), HEA milk for drinks
L- JP (F), cottage cheese, ham (P), spring onions, tomatoes, pickles (S)
D- chicken (P), SW chips (F), green stuff, mushrooms, roast peppers (S)
    Syns - weekend wine 😁
  • @joedenise, have a wonderful time away, whatever the weather. Here in NI as long as its not raining its a good day and then when we have rain for long spells, we agree as long as its not windy/cold/foggy - its a good day :) In other words, we dress for the weather and dont let it beat us :)

@Mrsporridge , get weight loss - congratulations. You have got to be so chuffed with that. One of the ladies in my group has been struggling to get that stone, first few losses were massive, then she settled to 1/2 or 1lb a week and last week she was really despondent, so I showed her my book and how long it took me , she stayed on track and smashed that stone this week. Its such a huge milestone isnt it? No matter if its just 20lb we want off or 3 stone, that first stone is magical , So chuffed for you xx

@coxy11 - happy retirement. And welcome to the new chapter of your life. Very new and different and it does take a while. Even though I have never formally retired, I stopped what I call real work in 2000 ( I mean I do still work part time in hospitality/menial/ sometimes below NMW jobs to keep myself sane - and afloat ) and it really is a huge transition. But take the time to work out what you want moving forward and remember that you can try something, decide its not for you and move on.

@jellybaby , well done on the STS. A word of warning though, dont get complacent ( I know you were joking btw ) on practicing for target.........

So me and target - OMG - Im struggling big time

1/2 on last week, so I was extra "good" and made soups, cooked lean meats for easy grab meals as I wasnt getting in till past 5, speed at every meal - and I gained another 1.5 this week !!!

You all know how frustrating that is when you feel you have done your best

So during body image - it all came flooding back

The scone? It was actually 4 during the week. PLUS I was nibbling on chips and I was taking a lot more coffee then I usually took. And I had chips out of the chip pan this week, as well as garlic bread at the weekend, and I had doubled my bread consumption. Now none of those were planned choices, my meals were planned and so SW , just I had given into the scones on 2 days, and my scales still recorded a loss - till Thursday and I was so !!!!!! a hoop I had another scone that night ( with the pound of butter ) and egg and chips for tea

Most weeks I can get away with one cheeky extra, a few bits of garlic bread or leave the fat on the bacon ( still the best bit imo ) still loose. I just got way too complacent

Oh and I couldn't swap the sweet potato fries for rice either :(  Meal was really good though, lots of speed in the chilli , just never panned out as I planned - front of house staff seriously didnt have a clue

So the extras arent working for me thats obvious

Got to try harder this week thats for sure, else `Im out of target and my big plan is to keep to target and set a new one for January to bring me to a better BMI

Morning all - brrrr frosty start here.

I hate to disappoint anyone but I actually start a new role with the NHS tomorrow rather than retiring! Could not afford not to work as still supporting DS2 through uni and have a mortgage. However, we have a cunning plan to pay it off next year with several big decisions being made. Had a call with our financial guy on Friday and he is happy with our plan which is a relief.

The quilting exhibition was amazing - I always say quilting is the elite of crafting due to precision and skills needed. I will never be a quilter but can admire excellent work. Managed to get some more gifts on the way home before going to see Napoleon. It was a good film, and the cinema was fairly full. A guy was sitting in my booked seat and refused to move so we ended up on the end of the row. He was looking at his phone throughout the movie too and to cap it all, looked like Gary Glitter which wasn't pleasant. Good film though!

Food was a chicken kebab and huge salad which we picked up on the way home! I too am battling to get back and remain in target @Longwalker - it's not easy, especially at this time of year.

Today we are off to Canterbury Christmas market with mum and the adult children. I've booked lunch at a pub and can see they do a Sunday roast so will probably go for that plus a soft drink.

Happy Sunday all, whatever you're up to.

  • @Coxy11 enjoy the Christmas market. @Longwalker so right, that first stone!

The food last night was amazing, home made curry with lots of butter, ghee and what have you!  We ended up not eating any pudding though and I made them keep the Eve's pudding to have between them this week, so a small win from that point of view.

    Back on it today
B wholemeal muffin (HEB) with scrambed eggs, spinach and bacon
no lunch as breakfast was more of a brunch
D I am going to make a recipe for veggie chilli that I saw on Mary Berry's programme this week,  I am just going to alter the 2 tbls oil that she used to fry off the onion and garlic and will use fry light and water instead.  It consists of mixed beans, peppers, onions, garlic, tomatoes and sweetcorn (which I may omit too)  We will have that as is without any rice as we had that last night.
Snacks bananas and oranges with FF yoghurt

So trying to keep fairly syn free and "light" today.

Good luck with the new job tomorrow @Coxy11

Thanks for the review of Napoleon, sounds like the @gary Glitter' type ad a Napoleon complex of his own! 🤣

That was a good move donating the pudding @MrsPorridge. Have a good week, and 🤞🏼 you'll be able to rein back the syns from the curry. I saw the Mary Berry programme with the chilli too. It looked good . I make a veggie chilli myself, using the Hairy Biker's chilli con carne recipe. I just substitute the meat for extra beans but stick with the beef stock for flavour as we're not veggies.

I'm out dancing this afternoon but although the shared buffet will be laden with cakes and sandwiches, I'll just pick at some fruit and perhaps a bit of cheese.

    Today's EE plan-
B- HEB porridge, HEA milk, berries (S), banana (F)
    L- Spanish omelette (P,S,F), pickles (S)
D- beef in 'red wine' (P,S), roast potatoes (F), many veg (S)
Syns- cornflour 1, weekend wine 😁
