I know I need to eat better but even though I haven't overindulged at all I feel as if I have gained rather than lost.
I was thinking of options this evening like pasta, or an omelette but thought of how many calories they would be so stopped myself. I think if I have had even a STS this week it will be a surprise. Don't know why though.
As my colleague said, I've been in stress and strain for a good while now what with the divorce and house sale and purchase, and I've just come to a bit of a wall.
You need to stop thinking about calories.
Eggs for an omelette & pasta are free foods.
ie you could have an omelette & beans or tomato = free.
Pasta with courgettes & brocoli = free.

    Hope this helps  :)

Your colleague is probably right about the stress @NornironRose but press on as you'll feel better for healthy eating.

I like a Spanish omelette as having potatoes in it makes it more filling. I ping a potato and slice it to speed it up. Bolognese with plenty of veg is a perfectly balanced meal especially with a HEA of Parmesan. If you batch cook the Bolognese sauce (I do mine in the SC) then it's an easy meal on a busy day. 👍

    Evening all

    Good luck Coxy tomorrow.

Longwalker it is hard to stay in target harder than loosing , i never have the extras like hexb or whatever they say as would be out straight away.

Rose, only weigh on the day you got to group, if you are scale hopping all the time and don't get the results you want to see could sabatage thinking f*** it i may as well as have had...........your scales probably weigh different anyway, you CAN do this, don't let it drag you down. You can weigh 3 times a day and it would say different every time.

    Food today

Stuffed mushroom omelette , 0.5 syns sauce

Roat pork, ton of speed veg, 2 yorkies 2 syns, gravy 4 synss
It works differently for me, I weigh virtually every day and that way if things are not going in the right direction, I can stop it in its tracks and pull it back around, this is especially important as we officially weigh every three weeks at SW and not every week.

I log my home scale weight and the SW weight and have then running alongside each other, difference between mine and theirs is 0.5lbs.

It is what works for me, sometimes I can be thinking I've put on but the scales say different and it spurs me on, without weighing and that reassurance, I would be saying "Begger it". A gain just makes me extra determined to get a loss.

Official weigh in this week, it has not been a great last 3 weeks healthwise and I am nursing pneumonia and picked up a cold on top which has made everything so much more worse. I'm hoping for a loss on Wednesday (the scales today say yes but my body is so all over the place with the steroids it could be a different story on Wednesday) but there have been a few times where different choices were made for ease because I was unwell but they would still work if I was calorie counting.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Thanks for the welcome back ladies.

@Coxy11 - welcome to the NHS family, hope the new job isn't as stressful as the last one!

Congrats on being back in target range @beanielou

Hope you're feeling better soon @SingleSue

Managed an hour of yoga last night in lieu of going for my daily walk - was way too dark once I'd finished work.  This morning I've had bran flakes and blueberries for breakfast, lunch is another stir fry and dinner is a surprise from the freezer as I need to make space.  I think it's a portion of a Korean stew as I could make out some courgette and potato in there, but all will be revealed when it's started to defrost and I can get the lid off 🤣  If that's what it is then I'll have some rice on the side with cucumber.

Morning all, reporting in quickly WFH today.

Well done on the loss @beanielou you need to pop over and give me a boot up the backside!

    Enjoy your new job @Coxy11

Well ladies don't all shout and scream at me but I have agreed to work an extra month!  I won't go into too much detail but my really good work friend is going through an awful personal issue and it will hopefully mean she can be off and not have work at least to stress about. The boss is being her usual awful self but the big boss has been wonderful, especially to my friend, and knows it's one month, no more.

    Today's food:
B - bran flakes (HEB), strawberries, yoghurt (0.5)
L - ham and veggie omelette, pickles
D - roast chicken, chips, roasted broccoli, cauliflower, carrots

    Have a good day all.

Sorry to hear you're putting off you're retirement for a month @Jellybaby but you've done it for the right reasons. I'm glad it's to help out your friend rather than bullying by the boss. 👍🏼

I think you have good reason to weigh at home @SingleSue as you can only get to group every three weeks becasue of work commitments. You're using the information wisely too, not letting it wind you up. Personally I don't weigh at home. I use my clothes to let me know how I'm doing. There's nothing like clean jeans or a fixed waistband or a fabric with no give to let me know if I've over indulged. I do occasionally call into the GP surgery. They've got an all singing, all dancing machine that does height, weight, BMI and I think BP too. It's free to use which is a bonus.

Hope you get a wee loss at WI. It's not easy for you as steroids are a known problem for weightloss.

I'm trying to clear some space in the freezers too @ruby_eskimo . Hope your dinner is a pleasant surprise not a nasty shock!  🤣

I'm keeping a food diary this week and have about 25 syns left before Thursday morning WI. My only plan after today is to use 3 syns of chocolate with coffee at the football tomorrow night.  I've also got a clear week next week in case I need to use grace week to get back in range. STS would do. 🤞🏼

    Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, scrambled eggs, ham (P), tomatoes (S)
L- ham (P), fried veg and pickles (S)
    D- sausage casserole (P,S), penne (F)
    Syns- Aldi sausages 1

@NornIronRose I am still struggling with the amount you can eat for free on SW.  I am eating far bigger portions than I have ever eaten and since mid September I have lost 13lbs, so something is working!  I can't explain it, but it does work.

    Today
B boiled egg and soliders - 1/2 wholemal muffin for the soldiers (1/2 HEB)
L home made pea soup with onion and a pepper thrown in plus the other half of the muffin (1/2 HEB)
D Rest of the Mary Berry style veggie chilli with jacket potato and reduced fat cheddar (HEA)
    Snacks fruit and FF yoghurt
Debt free and Keeping on Track

  • Thanks guys. Bit the bullet and went and got weighed. 0.5lb loss. So that is 16.5 lbs in 6 weeks. I'll take that.
I need to go back to what I was doing before which is actually eating things like spuds and pasta. Can't do rabbit food the whole time cos it makes me miserable.
Totally get why you are staying on for one month for your friend jellybaby. If you didn't you'd probably spend the whole month worrying!
