  • @maman , in saying all that, Im for lunch with a friend on Friday to a new place - cafe kitchen they call themselves, a bistro without a drinks licence is what Ill call them. Im looking forward to this one as they are running a healthier menu. You can go as dirty as you like, loaded fries, burgers etc, but they are also offering healthier choices - grilled meats and fish, hearty vegetable stews,  VEGETABLES such as broccoli and asparagus are included sides, jacket spuds with interesting toppings. Even the breakfast menu is good, choice of breads, including wholemeal, eggs how you want, porridge with fruits etc. My friend is a small eater so I can eat as little as I like with no explanation ( not that I ever do, but I know thats a complaint in group, members dont like to admit they are watching their weight )

So the usual yoghurt and fruit at quite late for me - 12pm. That kept me going till dinner/ supper and I went for the bubble and left over turkey cos I found a container of frozen cabbage and spuds in the freezer. Full off cauliflower rather then cabbage but it was yummy, mild and creamy without any butter. I like that with bubble, its never the same

Still feel bloated and heavy , just not comfortable at all. Made sure Ive had plenty of fluid and went to the loo as normal so not sure whats happening other then Im packing in more veg then Id usually eat ( had a big salad with my bubble and turkey )

Well done @NornironRose!👏👏👏 That's a great loss, especially after all the upheaval in recent weeks. 👍

If you like dark chocolate, I can recommend the Aldi 70‰ Moser Roth. There are 5 x 25g bars in a pack and each one is just 7 syns. It's like Green & Black but lots cheaper.
  • Thats bloody brilliant @NornIronRose. Id be shouting that from the rooftops tbh :)

Ive never bought those bars, its not something I would have bought pre SW.  Same as Riveta, why pay for cardboard  lol

Afternoon all, where is everyone?  Popped over to DD1s as she got a couple of TGTG bags from Aldi and she had loads of bags of lettuce and there's no way she's able to use it all.  Come to that neither will we but we came to the conclusion it will be better in our compost bin than just being thrown away which is what would have happened with it!  She also gave us 2 packs of pak choi which looks fine so will probably be able to take that on holiday with us to use, and a pack of continental spring onions - they are huge and there's only 3 to a pack!

Well done @NornIronRose - brilliant losses over the last few weeks.  Over a stone in 5 weeks is amazing especially with all the stress you've had with moving.

Forgot to get anything out of the freezer for dinner tonight so have now got out a couple of things and will decide later what to have!

    B - weetabix, milk - HEB; part HEA1
    L - stuffed peppers - HEA2; S; F
D - ?  decision will be made later!

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - weetabix
Syns - depends what's for dinner LOL!

    Have a good day everyone.

I've been AWOL for a couple of days as I've got the lurgy - actually now I don't feel as bad as I thought I would by this afternoon!  Lots of sneezing and lots of Sainsbogs version of limsip - I daren't look at how many syns they are.

I'm trying to stick to the programme but failing miserably.

Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow and able to get back on track.

    B overnight oats
L roll and butter - yes I know!!!
D BGTY sausage casserole with mash, carrots, beans and peas.
Snacks - one of those Cadbury Puds - I go mad for them, knew I shouldn't have bought them so early - 10 syns for that!
Debt free and Keeping on Track
  • You need self love at the minute Mrs P! Hope you start to feel better soon.

I'm really hungry again. Have had a cup of tea and a small pear today so no wonder.
Trying to decide on dinner for dd2 and I.

Sorry to hear you're unwell @MrsPorridge. I wondered where you'd got to. 🤗 It's understandable that you want a bit of time comfort eating but do try to get draw the line and get back on plan as soon as you can.

I find meal planning really helps @NornironRose. I've done it long before SW as I find it saves time thinking about what to have every day which was essential when I was working silly hours. Now I have more time to cook from scratch midweek but I still have batch cooked HM ready meals for days when I'm pushed for time or CBA. It doesn't have to be rigid. I just plan 7 dinners (or fewer if we're eating out) and a range of SW friendly ingredients for other meals.

I did my freezer inventory again today to make sure I eat stuff up to make room for Christmas food and I did my pigs in blankets from Aldi sausages so they're very low syn.

I suppose you'll just have to eat the lettuce for as long as it stays fresh @joedenise. Didn't you have a recipe for braised lettuce? 🤔

That restaurant/bistro sounds like a real gem @Longwalker. I love it when places do jackets or new potatoes and fresh vegetables! 👍

    Today's EE plan -
B- HEB toast, eggs (P), mushrooms and tomatoes (S), HEA 1 milk for drinks
    L- Spanish omelette (P, F, S)   ham (P), pickles (S)
    D- Austrian ham hash (P, F, S, HEA 2 cheese topping ), cauli, broccoli, cabbages (S)
    Syns - mustard?

Sorry to hear you're feeling rough @MrsPorridge, do hope you'll feel better tomorrow.  Get that line drawn and back on plan as soon as you can.  The longer you leave it the harder it is.

I agree with @maman that bistro sound brilliant @Longwalker.  Not many places include fresh vegetables, jackets and/or new potatoes.

So I ended up with a small piece of steak pie tonight, only had a very small piece of pastry and quite a bit of the steak!  Very nice it was too!  I made mash and peas a la Francais (braised lettuce, spring onions and peas) - trouble was it was a pack of Bistro salad so the stock turned purple from the beetroot strands!  Certainly made the mash a pretty pink!!!

Tomorrow will be better as the other thing I got out was a chilli so we'll have that with some rice and a bit of salad on the side.  Most of it will end up on the compost heap but at least it's better than going in the Council food bin and can be put to good use on my own garden!
