I was back to 3 again today - although could have been two if I had chosen one letter differently for my second attempt!
Weekend was lovely - in spite of the weather yesterday. I did wring the last bit out of summer on Saturday by sitting in the garden literally until it got dark mind you!
So - the list:- meal plan properly for next week and maybe even beyond Yes - next week and half the week after.
- actual shopping list for Lil’s rather than make it up as I go along Shopping with a proper list is so much easier!
- rough list of farmer’s market stuff for tomorrow - Had a good think through what we needed and managed to get everything, plus a random plant!
- vacuum everywhere Living room and kitchen is done - will leave upstairs until tomorrow. Upstairs now done as well.
- steam mop hard floors - done!
- limescale remover on the downstairs loo’s sink Done!
- relocate the detritus which has gathered on the kitchen island to it’s proper homes Done - and this then prompted…
- Clean the kitchen… Done!
- harvest anything we can from the garden Another tub of toms- and that is about all for now. Added a courgette and some more potatoes yesterday
- do a test dig to see if we have any tatties and if we do if they are edible. They are, and oh my, they REALLY are!- reorganise the shed a bit to work out whether I can order logs Yes - we did this yesterday and although it is a work in progress we will be able to get logs sorted.
- get remaining camping stuff sorted out and put away
- have a good weeding session in the garden Done - a couple of trugs full into the garden waste bin, plus the jasmine has been given another haircut, and I’ve thinned out the courgette leaves a bit to make sure they keep plenty of airflow.
- book a tip visit for Sunday to get shot of some toot MrEH did this and we went yesterday
- have a good scour round the house & shed for any additional toot that can be added to that Nothing extra right now
- do a bit more clearing out the back, and maybe start digging it a bit to see what we are dealing with
- blog post (s) Made a start on two - one nearly finished, the other is a couple of paragraphs in.
- diesel in both cars - mine is done, and MrEH's was done yesterday.
Also added a really decent tidy up in the garden - including beginning to get pots of things that are finished sorted out, emptied and the crocks set aside for future use, getting our rather lovely new mauve pot planted up with plants we already had plus some spring flowering bulbs, getting the heuchera I bought on saturday planted at the front and shifting some tomato plants about to hopefully maximise on-plant ripening.
That's not too bad is it! The camping stuff still needs sorting, but we also have to get the "essentials bag" re-packed before we can work out where that is going to live. I did get the big lantern fully discharged and re-charged though and that has gone away. Had the weather been better yesterday we'd have had a look at that bit of ground out the back, but we ended up dodging showers with the bits we did get done!
I managed a decent batch cooking session yesterday - the Lil's box green beans went into a BBC G00d F00d green bean macaroni cheese which has been portioned out and two portions will be frozen with the other being eaten in the next few days, and I also made a big pan of ragu which will be portioned this evening and will all be destined for the freezer. We had the first of our home grown tatties yesterday - utterly delicious - and have opted to now dig up the entire first row of those as they were pushing to the surface in a few places and beginning to green. we will go through those tonight, pull out those that need using up first and then the rest can go to the shed for storage as it's cool and dark out there. I also need to re-jig my meal plan to take account of those and the batch cooking - and I will probably try to roll that forwards by another week as well.
Other than that:
- a small bit of spendiness yesterday for a frame for a picture we bought a few weeks ago (a rather nice London Underground related one) and some spring flowering bulbs for both front and back gardens, most of which are already planted. Just £13.99 total though, and we combined the trip to get them with the tip run, and MrEH getting his paper.
- Banks checked and all good
- My N/w1de reg saver has matured and the money has been shuffled ready to feed some others accounts we have running, and I have attempted (unsuccessfully) to open it's replacement, so will have to try that again later on.

Regarding the N/W!de regular saver you need to wait until the day after the RS has matured before you can open a new one. Mine matured yesterday and I was able to open the new RS today.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Ah, that's useful to know as mine married today too! 😂 do they have a decent replacement? Will check. Although we have a few on the go at the minute, need to be careful we don't overstretch!6

Ah, yes, they have one for £200 a month at 6.5%. I might hold off this time - we've just opened on each and now have £850 a month going into them til January 😮 two of them mature at that point but I'm not sure i want any more going out at the minute, even as a drip feed - we'll have windows and LPG to pay for over the winter plus house/ car insurance and I don't want to risk having to pull cash back out! (Although some don't have penalties). Hmm.7

The 6.5% N/W!de RS you can make 3 penalty free withdrawals, more than 3 and the interest rate reduces. You can deposit £0 - £200 each calendar month into this account, useful if you do not have enough money available.

I'm hoping they keep the 6.5% for another month as my 8% doesn't run out until mid October.

Oh yes - fingers crossed BM - it's certainly still there at the moment. with no change in interest rates this month it doesn't seem likely that there is any particular reason for them to drop it, either.
My application has gone through fine today - although they said it was technical issues yesterday I do wonder whether it was just too close to the maturity of the other one, and with the other one having matured over the weekend, it just hadn't updated through the system yet. Ah well, done now, and it has been fed its first £200 as well.
I need to add sorting out some automated transfers to my list of jobs to get dealt with over the weekend - I think I now have 3 regular savers on the go which I am manually transferring to, and that seems like a lot of unnecessary hard work. Easily fixed by a few minutes work at the weekend though. The NW one will continue to be fed by monthly income as before, and the other two will come from savings I think.
Cheery I feel for you on trying to keep track of regular savers without overstretching - I think I also need to add updating my list of savings details as well, come to think of it!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
