I'm always surprised they're rated so highly, they were dreadful when my family friend whose flat I was living in died. Hope it gets sorted quickly with no unpleasantness, and preferably a bit of apology compo4

EH - that's rotten! - I'd be hitting the roof and then some!
4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 10 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 15 mths)Psst...I may have started a diary!3 -
Hoping your complaint gets dealt with quickly, efficiently and satisfactorily.4

To be fair I've always found them to be great, but I agree EH's experience is rotten!
I confess we do very much take advantage of our weekly free coffee though, and given they'll pay for a fancy pants super size whatever, that works out a couple of hundred quid a year for us 😁 Obviously we end up spending that for the other person... but we are quite cafe-oriented so likely would have done anyway. Not a reason to switch to them (especially not after this fiasco!) but I do like taking full advantage of people's offers 😂4 -
That's awful about the energy co, I hope they resolve it quickly. I've not had any issues with them, and there's no company in the world who doesn't get things wrong sometimes, but it's how they deal with it that matters."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Jwil nails it here - everyone is entitled to a C0ck-up here and there, and in fairness they ARE dealing with it well - I had a reply yesterday from them acknowledging the complaint, apologising, admitting fault and confirming that the debt has now been recalled from the DCA. Also stating in black and white that they confirm that I am not liable for it. I have made clear that I still expect to be told how it came to happen, and that they are taking steps to ensure that it doesn’t happen to anyone else. I have also asked them to confirm whether they plan to self-report to the ICO or whether I should do it for them…I bet I know what the answer will be! I would still recommend them as a supplier, not least because the majority of folk won’t find themselves in the situation we have, and as a rule they are well priced and decent to deal with. PiP I’m sorry you had a rough time dealing with them - that must have made a tough situation even harder.Hurrah for it being Friday though - in fairness this week has been miles better on the work front, perhaps because Madam Boss has not insisted on coming into the office every day, instead working from home a couple of days (where she gets far more done because of not having 2 hours plus commuting time to take account of, and there being less distractions there than in the office, too!) but also I suspect because she actually took time out last weekend and did relaxing stuff rather than working right through - just fancy THAT turning you into a nicer human being eh?! 😆 Anyway, regardless, it is lovely to have a Friday without any rushing about doing things needing to be done, in spite of how lovely the last couple of weekends have been, I definitely need a quiet one!We have already been for a walk and met an utterly adorable puppy who was SO pleased to have a fuss he had an excited wee - only narrowly missing my leg! 😂 Owner was slightly mortified but reassured by me being utterly unbothered and continuing to make a fuss of pup regardless! So, some stuff I would like to get done this weekend (not all today!)
- meal plan properly for next week and maybe even beyond
- actual shopping list for Lil’s rather than make it up as I go along
- rough list of farmer’s market stuff for tomorrow
- vacuum everywhere
- steam mop hard floors
- limescale remover on the downstairs loo’s sink
- relocate the detritus which has gathered on the kitchen island to it’s proper homes
- harvest anything we can from the garden
- do a test dig to see if we have any tatties and if we do if they are edible.- reorganise the shed a bit to work out whether I can order logs
- get remaining camping stuff sorted out and put away - have a good weeding session in the garden
- book a tip visit for Sunday to get shot of some toot
- have a good scour round the house & shed for any additional toot that can be added to that
- do a bit more clearing out the back, and maybe start digging it a bit to see what we are dealing with
- blog post (s)
- diesel in both cars
The chimney is being swept at 4pm, but MrEH will probably mostly look after that this time as he is in the front room working anyway. I have a big river order arriving with two big tins of my favourite peanut butter - hopefully this time the parcel will have been treated a little more gently as last time it arrived with both tins burst open and they had to replace them, needless to say I cleaned up and used the burst open ones mind you… 😉 (actually, maybe I DON’T hope that doesn’t happen again?!)
