Glad the octopods issue getting sorted - I am still 5 years in having issues with the Scottish energy companyDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Glad work has been a little easier. I too am enjoying a relatively lazy Friday (well, not 'lazy' as so far I have been alternately wielding lawnmower and pitchfork 😂)5

Sounds as if you’ve had a lovely time away.
Glad the octopus is being sorted. Hopefully that’ll be the end of it for you 🤞
Im impressed you’re still harvesting tomatoes. Never known such a sparse year here.
i need to harvest my sweet pea pods as they’ve dried out very nicely. I was to replace them with some winter flowering pansies to give a bit of colour.January spends - £587.585 -
Having previously has to deal with SP LaPlan I am not surprised at the length of time your issues are taking. They are firmly on my “never again list”
There is big news here, BIG news….
I got a green box in Lil’s…!Having never even seen them in our store before, I was utterly delighted to not only find three sitting there to choose from but for them all to be pretty decent looking as well. Having got a pack of 89p beetroot as well I will probably get the oven on over the weekend to roast another big pan of veg I think. The jury is still out on the fruit - 3 plums, 4 apricots and a nectarine - but I may simply chop that up and roast it as well. That will now change my meal planning for the next few days a bit - I have a lot of lettuce to use, the beans might make it into the BBC Good Food green bean macaroni cheese, in which case we will have that on Sunday along with the lamb breast I was already intending to get out of the freezer.MrEH has just let me know that my peanut butter delivery has arrived so I should probably go and check that over for leaky tins!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

GNU Mr Redo5 -
Redo that was pretty much my thoughts on the fruit - I have a feeling the nectarine in particular won’t ripen well so that would be a good way of dealing with it.Milann our toms took ages to get going but once they did we’ve done well with them - I have already noted the varieties and jotted down some thoughts of what we might do next year but the main thing is to grow more of them as I can always find a use for them!In all the excitement about the box I forgot that I also got some bargains from the 60% off reductions - a pack of Moroccan style plant based burgers, a chorizo and red pepper quiche - those have gone to the freezer. A tub of caramelised onion houmous will be fine until tomorrow, and a pack of thick sliced chicken which did our lunch today and the other half is now frozen. I also made use of the 50% off apples which was a cracking deal.Chimney has a clean bill of health and I can add “clean kitchen” to my list….then immediately cross it off again as done! So, some stuff I would like to get done this weekend (not all today!)
- meal plan properly for next week and maybe even beyond Yes - next week and half the week after.
- actual shopping list for Lil’s rather than make it up as I go along Shopping with a proper list is so much easier!
- rough list of farmer’s market stuff for tomorrow
- vacuum everywhere Living room and kitchen is done - will leave upstairs until tomorrow
- steam mop hard floors
- limescale remover on the downstairs loo’s sink Done!
- relocate the detritus which has gathered on the kitchen island to it’s proper homes Done - and this then prompted…
- Clean the kitchen… Done!
- harvest anything we can from the garden Another tub of toms- and that is about all for now.
- do a test dig to see if we have any tatties and if we do if they are edible.- reorganise the shed a bit to work out whether I can order logs
- get remaining camping stuff sorted out and put away
- have a good weeding session in the garden Done - a couple of trugs full into the garden waste bin, plus the jasmine has been given another haircut, and I’ve thinned out the courgette leaves a bit to make sure they keep plenty of airflow.
- book a tip visit for Sunday to get shot of some toot MrEH did this
- have a good scour round the house & shed for any additional toot that can be added to that
- do a bit more clearing out the back, and maybe start digging it a bit to see what we are dealing with
- blog post (s)
- diesel in both cars - mine is done🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Glad the complaint is being dealt with well. That's a great veg box!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee4
