Very decent veg box there, not like the ones I saw in our local L yesterday.Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.5

There are very rarely any veg boxes in our Lid! and when they do have them they’re generally full of iceberg lettuce 😐 Glad the issue with 🐙 is being sorted. From personal experience NP are the worst, they made a right mess of my bills although I did get a fair bit of compensation at the time thanks to mentioning them on my diary. Years ago we were with Atlantic and they were great, used to get a month’s DD refunded into your bank once a year as a thank you. I think SP took them over.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

Afternoon lovelies - it’s been a gloriously sunny one here again which has been a joy - I am making the most of it with windows and doors open all round as we are due a wet one tomorrow and it makes sense to air out the house while I can.Farmer’s market day today so we headed there first thing, arriving early as for the last few months a lot of folk have been turning up well ahead of the 10am start time and things have already sold out by that point. Today we were ahead of the rush, was able to see the lamb man (Peter) without him having a big queue for a change - a half lamb shoulder, a pack of liver and some of his tasty lamb, rosemary & garlic sausages were acquired. A piece of beef shin and a hunk of haslet from Catherine on the other meat stall, the sourdough loaf I mentioned on Foxgloves diary, and corn on the cob, a punnet of greengages and a couple of russet apples from the veg stall. Mr EH treated himself to some bottles of local cider (we are not big cider country round here but these people have been going for a while now, are excellent, and we’re pleased to support them) and I nabbed a beautiful bronzey coloured Heuchera (“Sweet tea” which is to go into the front garden - it was the exact variety I looked at and so nearly bought down in Devon the other week - I regretted not getting it then, so was pleased that the plant stall at the market had it today.Home for our regular (now monthly) online meeting in connection with our voluntary role - we are gearing up to a big announcement so there was lots of chat about that - MrEH headed off to rugby about 12.30 and the meeting wrapped up just after 1pm. Fish finger butty for lunch for me - very tasty, and used some of the green box lettuce plus half a home grown cucumber. One load of washing has been out and dried, and on reflection I now have another load in the machine on a quick wash and will shove that onto the line as soon as it is done - there is still sufficient sunshine and warmth that it should at least mostly dry, and I can finish it on the airer as needed. My original thought had been to leave it until tomorrow when I could have filled the machine completely m but a Quick Look at the weather forecast put paid to that notion! Once that is out I plan to have a stroll round toAl’s to pick up MrEH’s bananas and something treaty for after tea this evening, plus scout around for any YS’d bread for the freezer. May walk back the long way to bump my step count from its current “woeful” to at least “vaguely acceptable” too.Ahhh..that was the WM bleeping at me to say it’s finished…🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

The farmers market haul sounds tasty 👍
Yes, what a difference in the weather today from yesterday. I suspect it’ll slide into autumn very quickly now.January spends - £587.585 -
I am still looking for daytime because so far it is not happening here. I saw it lighter at 7am last week than it has been all day so far.

Yep Badmemory - we had a similarly gloomy day here!I will pop back tomorrow with a proper post, but just wanted to share today’s Wordle result. My starting word came in as all 5 letters present, but not in the right places, meaning guess 2 was a simple anagram game. Only one viable option from my starting letters, so hey presto, Wordle in 2, with a very pleasing all yellow top row to boot! 😁🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Love a F&V box from Lid*!! Sadly my local store closed and I still miss itDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.
