  • I did a yoga workout last night that involved core work and my core (once I had tracked it down) reminded me quite sternly that no sit ups have been done here for a VERY long while! Lay downs, yes, sit ups, no!

Oh - and PiP - while we are on the subject of having stern words - can I have a gentle stern word to remind you that you LITERALLY get the PIP money that is meant to make your life more straightforward so buy the flipping medication you need from it!  (Please!

All this talk of cryptic crosswords has reminded me that Mr PIP and I never did the GCHQ Christmas quiz sheet my cousin sent me- and a good thing too, as I just looked at it and can't make head nor tail- I would've got in a right sulk!
My Christmas present to my friend was a big box with nothing but a homemade crossword in it! (When I say "homemade" I mean it was my words and clues but some clever programme generated it into an actual crossword) Yes she was in a strop with me having to solve the crossword to work out what her present was!  :D Her precise words were "next year an effing box of chocolates will do!" In case you're wondering - all of the words were related to an escape room and then the letters I'd circled spelled out "Pick a date" - i.e pick a date for us to do an escape room!

No sit-ups here, EVER! So even a lie-down on the floor & an attempt to get up unaided so as to walk to the coffee machine would be considered exercise here atm! To be fair, I am taking a leaf out of Michael Mosely's book (not by snooping into people's shopping trolleys) but in making sure I get up off chairs or the sofa without using my arms/hands in anyway to pull myself up. Heard a radio programme in which he was chatting to an expert & apparently this is a good habit to get into if you don't perform any more athletic type of 'squats' & could be the difference between being able to get up off the loo when you are 90 or needing assistance! Flippin' 'eck, 'getting up off the sofa squats' it is then!!
(But no sit-ups, just too, too horrid)

I have a request - can you stop referring to your sit-ups as "wussy sit ups"?! Question to the audience - raise your hand if you do daily sit ups of any variety?!

*Tumble weed rolls through as I bet the answer is none!*  :D
Ha thank you for the support but you haven't seen these situps 😂 and they certainly aren't daily! I do them to try to have some core strength as my joints can't be depended on for getting up

A good lay down is an art form 😁

Thank you for the stern word and I absolutely will if I have to but it's the principle of the thing! £4 more for the exact same product! I would have to banish myself for a day from these boards in shame 😂

That's such a lovely thing to do. I hope you're planning a treasure hunt with clues for her to find her 'effing box of chocolates' next year 😁

That's a really good habit to get into, I'll try to remember to attempt that.

My exercise consists of walking----to fridge to get alcohol out and upper arm exercises--lifting glass of aforementioned alcohol to mouth.
