Poor you. The HT said that he was more sore than usual this morning. There's no dramatic weather change afoot as far as I can see on the weather guess site. The HT doesn't count steps which is just as well because he's only been downstairs to do a bit of fridge gazing and to collect his pizza. I hope that you feel better tomorrow.

I also hope you feel better tomorrow. Sounds like you needed a more chilled day today. You still got a few things done so not too shabby.

  • Thanks @Sun_Addict. Mr PIP asked if I wanted to go for a stroll to have a pint somewhere and I had to decline as body is too unstable. Me, not going for a walk even with beer at the end. Shocking scenes 😂

Thanks @CRANKY40, hope HT feels better too. Has he had any benefit of his uni review about helping him, or is it too soon to say?
  • Opinions please- I opened my LISAs at the last chance in my 30s a few years ago and got a cash one and a stocks and shares one. I have alternated between putting a grand in one every tax year since (I can't afford more than that, if that makes a difference).
But since I don't have a pension, should I focus instead on only putting my 1k a year into the cash one in case the S&S one does terribly and leaves me with half of what I could have had when I'm able to withdraw at 60?
Or since there's the best part of 20 years to go, should I continue alternating in the hope that's long enough for S&S LISA to become useful?
I know nothing about investing- I didn't even know LISAs existed til I was knocking on 40- so any advice very welcome
  • Feeling somewhat shoddy; slept for twelve hours!

20 minute walk. Hip made it clear this was not going to be a longer walk by repeatedly buckling on the street

A no spend day at least I suppose

Bah to feeling shoddy, @PiP. It's high time you had a better day, healthwise.

  • I entirely concur @foxgloves! However my horrendous period is likely to start in next couple of days so it won't be any time soon 😭 I also have a mildly sore throat and slight cough which I think is just related to my connective tissue being particularly awful but means I won't be seeing Mr PIP til that goes away just in case. It would be so nice just to not feel s*** all the time. Hohum. People much worse off than me and all that x
  • I do have another couple of mse things to report:

Found two books while I was on my little walk; Longitude by Dava Sobel and This Is London by Ben Judah, both of which I'm very much looking forward to reading- the London one I think would be up your street @foxgloves

And I have used up all the most concerning veg to make a salad to go with dinner, which is leftover pasta bake. Hooray once more for the 'I can't be a**** cooking' jar of pasta sauce
  • @Sun_Addict @Blackcats I need your cryptic crossword help!

Stealing a sheet to put round the sick, 7 letters

    _ I _ _ _ _ _

I'm sure the I is right and presume that's going to be 'ill', I'm thinking the whole thing is likely to mean 'stealing' so prob an 'ing' ending, and yet I'm baffled! Is there a four letter word for sheet ending 'ing'?

I don't do cryptic crosswords, but could only think of 'winding' sheet.....though that would  be wrapped around the dead rather than the sick.
