Today's mse things:
Admin comping tidying
Helping mum sort and clean stuff to go back in the bathroom while waiting for housing association workman to turn up as he didn't turn up on Saturday and no-one let us know.
We found quite a few little travel toothpastes so will use those up. We were going to chuck some out of date sun cream then I thought I can still use it as body moisturiser after a shower.
And we found a few mini shampoo and conditioner bottles so will make sure to use them
Had a decent walk picking up an Olio book which I'm looking forward to reading.
A neighbour was getting rid of two half full bottles of hair conditioner so took those too, will save a couple of quid
And discovered a pub has started doing decent beers so that's worth remembering for when Mr PIP and I want a walk
Got sent a GCHQ gamesheet by my cousin so that's some free entertainment for Christmas
Obviously the workman didn't come at 12 and obviously they didn't tell us until quarter to three. No update on when he might come. Sigh.
Another little walk to utilise my coupon for a free bottle of shampoo. Do you think the universe is trying to tell me to wash my hair? 😁
Resisted popping into the pub so have cracked open a beer from the bargain beer box, and attention all beer fans- Homer's Donut Porter is lovely and a very reasonable 4.5% unlike most of the nice unusual beers!
Knackered now but going to try to finish the Housing Association complaint letter and if I have any energy left do a couple of Vinted listings but if not will do tomorrow.
Also need to do some reading of things that have been hanging around or just decide I'm not reading them. I am not taking piles of 'really should do' into the new year2 -
I would maybe leave the Vinted listings until after the holidays.I bought something last night. Will be interesting to see if it comes before Chrimbo.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. Well done @Sun_Addict, it was 'erased'!
Still not sure why that's cryptic other than it could be read in two ways, but you were right so I hope you have a small bask in your cryptic crossword glory 😁0 -
I can't do cryptic crosswords so could you or @Sun_Addict explain the answer, as if you are explaining to someone who is totally unable to work it out even when they've been provided with the answer 🥴. (Whilst being careful not to make that person feel completely foolish)1
-
😁 Well this is not the best clue to be learning cryptic crosswording from @Blackcats but as far as I can see
'Evidently regretted having dashed off'
wanted us to think that 'dashed off' meant 'ran away' sort of thing but actually meant 'wrote quickly'. So @Sun_Addict's answer of 'erased' is what one would have done if they evidently regretted having written something in haste.
The reason I didn't know if it was right is that usually cryptic clues don't just have a straightforward 'you could read it this way or this way' solution but I suppose that makes it even more cryptic when they throw one in!1 -
That’s a great explanation of a cryptic clue @PennysIntoPounds. I have to be in the right mindset for cryptic crosswords some days I’m great at them, other days rubbish.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Shoulder still in agonies. I need to do a client job today and I really need focus and energy as it's a new client and I don't know their area of work so would be great to be able to concentrate without pain and feeling wiped out but will have to struggle through.
Also need to take the universe's not too subtle hints about washing my hair but tbh that's seeming unlikely. Might just have to feel manky and hope for some improvement tomorrow.
Also really need to finish Christmas shopping and wrap everything but though it's giving me anxiety there's just not ability for it to be a priority today.
This continuous rain is also not encouraging me to get any basic exercise of meagre steps.
Hope everyone is faring better than me today!0
