I am actually going to defend HMRC here.  Their systems were, according to someone who worked there & posted on here, written without any input from the people using them, which has not helped.  Then in the last couple of years more & more state pensioners have been drawn into paying tax on their pensions.  Many of whom do not go online & don't understand what simple assessment is.  To top it all off they got rid of most of those who knew what they were doing a few years ago.  I have wondered if they have also moved some over to the DWP to deal with all those claims for pension credit, many of which I suspect were made knowing that they had no claim but simply a bit cross.  I almost did myself.  If they get up my nose again I may well do that.

A bit of a grumpy start to the day as woke up fancying a pub lunch and sulked that I can't afford it. Then reasoned that I was probably just craving protein so compromised with a small spend by walking to Greggs. Who didn't have any vegan sausage rolls. So went to Wendells bakery, whose vegan sausage rolls looked unappetising and were over double the price. So went to Sainsers where they had Richmond veggie sausages on promotion. Sulked again at the bread I wanted being pricier than I could justify but took the cheaper bread and sausages to the till, where the promotion didn't go through. At this point I gave up. Went home and ate an egg instead.

But no bad vibes on a Sunday!

Except then had a phone call from bank, on a Sunday! I said I'd asked to be emailed and they said sometimes they prefer to have a call 😂 What was the point in ever asking me my preference?! I politely told them to email me. Even if I didn't mind a call, I don't blimmin want one midday on Sunday

And I'd only picked up as I thought it might be Mr PIP's brother's missus doing a pre-call as she'd insisted we arrange a video call about the build today, because there's nothing like making a call worse by it being video too. And there was of course absolutely nothing that couldn't have been said in the whatsapp group chat, and hadn't been.

But no bad vibes on a Sunday!

Mr PIP has prepped cheesy potatoes for dinner, I have entered some competitions and today I'm mostly looking forward to winning a lightweight vacuum. We will have sofa beers to save money and also cos it is orrible out there

It sounds like you have had one of those days.  I hope you have a good win to compensate.  I am talking a fortnight in the south of France (ish) not a vacuum cleaner.

I'd genuinely love a good quality lightweight vacuum cleaner @badmemory 😁

Perusing yesterday's Guardian that mates passed on to us, there's a story about a 40 bedroom Regents Park mansion that has just been sold and is "possibly the world's most expensive home". Am laughing quite a lot that it's "ultimately owned by the crown estate". £139million and you still can't get a freehold in North London 😂😂😂

20 minute walk in between rain and gales dropping off a package for a survey provider

15 minute carpet walk during rain and gales
    Spec work

20 minute walk in brief break during rain and gales dropping off soft plastics recycling, found 7p

Weather actually cleared up so 20 minute walk for beer (with camra discount), Happy Mondays everyone 🍻

Dinner is leftover pastry sheet bedecked with veg and cheese

Has anyone tried the laneige lip sleep mask? I know it's all the rage but don't know if it's an overhyped fad. I get really dry lips so wondering if the (£21 😭) price tag could possibly be worth it...

I had that lip mask, it came in a beauty box I didn’t pay £21 for it, and was using it until my DGD cadged it off me as it was on her must have list. The small amount of time I used it I can’t say it made any more difference than just putting on a normal lip balm at night before I get in bed - but then I didn’t have it in my possession that long 😆
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

And I bet they still had to sign a contract full of things like 'you can't beat your rugs outdoors before 10am on a Wednesday' @Baldybear 😁

Please surreptitiously check if her lips look smoother and healthier next time you see her @Sun_Addict 😁

Just a reminder to include stamp duty for your Regents Park purchase.  £16.5 million if it's your only property or £23.5 million if it's an additional property.  Don't want any embarrassment on completion day scrabbling around in handbags looking for loose change.
