You are so right on the cannily tight. I've bought the MrT ones online before and rolled my eyes at the meanness, added them to the 'Christmas sideboard', and bought decent ones for stockings. Buy cheap, buy twice is sometimes true.

I buy the M&S chocolate coins as they don't have traces of gluten so are suitable for the resident coeliac.

Not sure if it's a blessing or a curse not to like mince pies?  Either way I can't abide them.

There are some definite advantages to not being able to eat pastry.  Well obviously I can eat it but it just isn't worth it except on very rare occasions & I pay for it.

Paid for car boot sale for in a couple of weeks time, fingers crossed we'll get some money in the flat pot

20 minute walk to meet a mate for some pre Christmas beers, and picked up a couple of pairs of nicely fitting denim shorts from olio

Thats brave doing a car boot sale at this time of year. I have done many right all through the year and even in milder weather it gets cold. Make sure you wrap up warm and take hot drinks etc.

Might be a tad chilly to do the car boot in the denim shorts though 🥶🤣
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

Can we allow ourselves pre-Christmas mince pies in November rather like PiPs pre -Christmas beers? In fact, shall we extend all seasonal goodies across the year given it’s all pre-the next Christmas?
