I also have zero control of food gifts in my home (unless they are not GF),
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

I have zero control over "that stuff" but in keeping with my mainly eat home made or real foods I am going to make a Christmas Cake and freeze. If it is in the freezer I should be ok!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!1 -

I'm also resisting mince pies until December, 11 days to go 🎄
My BIL tries to have as many different types of mince pies throughout advent 😆Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

I’ve already had the iced fruit cake bar. Although I would eat that in June if the shops sold it 🤷2

I've got a Mr Kipling gripe. We had a pack of his "Winter whirls" the other day - and they were frankly NOT exceedingly good, they were exceedingly average. I'm guessing they won't adopt that as a new tag-line though as it doesn't have quite the same selling power...
We too are resisting mince pies, although the little temptresses are sitting in every shop we visit taunting us. Beginning of December though, never before. I have already bought a few odds and ends - some of the Al's Lebkuchen Hearts which are delicious. Some savoury bits too. Those are sitting upstairs safely out of view otherwise I wouldn't fancy their chances...🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I've never been a fan of Mr Kpling but lebkucken are a different kettle of fish. My arm reached out for them yesterday but I gave myself a severe telling off because they wouldn't have lasted until teatime let alone bedtime.

Small hissy fit when laptop stopped working.
Sorted after hard reboot (I hope) but really need to fix the other one. And my mums one. *weeps*
30 minute walk. Got Mr PIP's stocking chocolate coins in. £1.25 from M&S rather than 89p from tesco but the tesco ones had about four coins in.
The point is to be cannily tight, not look horribly tight!
Chat with family friend, decided to no longer exchange gifts at Christmas, so that's a few quid and a job saved

Dinner is spaghetti with mum's veggie bolognese from the freezer
