Sorry about the more pain than usual pain situation. Hope it eases a bit very soon and in the meantime I'll scrawl you an impossible to read prescription for a glass of rose to be taken at least once a day.
excavations starting is definitely progress. Can you bury a Blue Peter style time capsule there?0 -
Our local Aldee never have the bargain wines. I did however pick up a delicious dry rose a while ago for about £6, it was French I think. Never seen it since 😕
On the subject of cursed ground, when I was a child we went on holiday to a caravan park and one night I had a terrible experience where I dreamed I was trapped in a tomb. I couldn’t wake up, it was so frightening. My parents eventually managed to wake me but I was literally shaking with fear. Turned out the campsite was on an ancient burial ground and other children had the same experience as me, there was an article in a newspaper about it 😱
Not that I’m saying your land is cursed 🤣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Thanks @EssexHebridean, yep it's not ever going entirely but eased a little today. We're excited to try our M's Polly's Satin Pattern DDH Pale, bit stronger than I'd usually have at 5.5% but one for enjoying in the garden rather than having pints of in the pub
Thank you Doctor @Blackcats, appreciate your treatment recommendation. Burying nothing there, it'd only be a historical document of swear words about the effing bloody eejit council, and probably cause some mass subsidence
How rude of your aldos to not have the wines of the week @Sun_Addict, have a word with the manager and find out why!
Thanks so much for that anecdote, I've informed Mr PIP I won't be needing any of the bedtime ghost story we're currently reading 😁

Today's doings:
Usuals
Shower and hairwash, no limbs fell off which is always nice
25 minute walk
Caught up with my f&v, got a fair way to go with the steps
Couple of surveys
Got to the £10 cashout mark for ziffit's 15% extra offer by including some of the drier looking intimidating books on the shelves
Got paid for a few wee jobs so share to tax pot
Contacted PALS as of course the hospital trust hasn't contacted me let alone paid me the (meagre) Dad Death Compo in the 30 days they were supposed to.
Organisations you're supposed to be able to trust really do seem to enjoy making me feel truly existentially awful. I wish they'd pack it in.
Anyway, had a lovely few beers with a close family friend who has recently lost their partner and had good chats about getting rid of stuff and guilt and the complexity of sorting out someone's stuff and grieving, so not mse but worth every penny

Thanks @KajiKita x
I am not in the slightest bit surprised @beanielou, just sad that even at this stage they still can't display any decency or capability, and dreading having to have to fight all over again
But the sun is shining and the joints have eased so hopefully today will be a good day2 -
The usuals, with a breakfast croissant our currently staying family friend kindly got
50 minute walk to lidl getting a free cheese twist.
Found a little pile of books, some I'm keeping (particularly intrigued by Mickey the Mimic by Kirk Lake) and one accepted by ziffit for £1.10
Entered some competitions, today I'm mostly looking forward to winning 1k in aldi vouchers
Not mse but since the weather is looking most un-summer-like after tomorrow, Mr PIP and I have gone to enjoy the pub garden while doing some work (used camra discount).
Feeling a bit skint but also feeling a bit low about the seeming impossibility of everything so not going to beat myself up over small pleasures, especially being part of the community.
Would be nice to feel on it again soon though
Dinner is store-bought pizza with salad leaves on the side. Joints extra aching again after the walk so very glad to have something easy

Nothing to add, @PiP, but just to (unusually for me!) quote Churchill (I think) & say you just have to keep on b*ggering on. You know we're all cheering you on from the sidelines. Sorry the achy joints have kicked off again. Agree you need a nice super-easy meal you can just scoff then relax.

Thank you @foxgloves, appreciate that.
I can fight them on the beaches if they're scared of jellyfish, and are handily distracted by wondering why this massive jellyfish is wearing a superb outfit
(I don't want to sound a braggard, but the summer into autumn black flowing maxi skirt with a light jumper in burgundy and small gold hoops is a win, no denying 😁)
I was very pleased to see that dusky rose and red wine tones are the in colours for A/W 24/25, two of my most favourite colours
