  • Thanks @Sun_Addict, still very sore and exhausted with pain but soldiering on, albeit in a largely ineffectual way!

The walk was done so a relief not to have even more steps to make up. Mr PIP is very nice and said it wasn't bothering him to go more slowly than usual, to which I said he's a much kinder person than me as slow walkers drive me absolutely mad 😁

Used my voucher to buy boring household items so taking £3.97 off my I.O.ME, so close now! Also used up most of the remainder to get us four nice beers on their 4 for 3 deal, it is quite the revelation that Morrisons is by far the best place to get interesting craft beer, and at a decent price.

Entered some competitions, is it really sad that I'm most looking forward to winning some Christmas crackers off a royal news website (I'm fine if it is, 🎵 Christmas time, mistletoe and wine🎵 )

Ziffit has 15% extra on baskets over £10 as a bank holiday promotion (though offer ends friday) so put the previous rejects in and a few were accepted. Then eyed up the bookshelves in a 'being realistic about what will actually get read again' way, and long story short, I'm now currently reading several more books

Had a nice catch up with mum before she went back to have a zoom with her friend, gave her some olio bread and some elderflower cordial our friend brought round which we like the idea of but can see sitting there unloved for months (I did offer friend taking anything back with her)
And mum brought us some holiday toiletries from a recent stay away so that will save the coffers a few quid

Dinner is leftover pasta bake (kidney beans included for extra f&v)

Since we have been very good at making more frugal decisions lately we are allowing ourselves some bank holiday pub time tomorrow, so looking forward to that (will obvs be using camra discount). Hoping the joints will have got better rather than worse!

  • We could really do without the chronic pain eh @beanielou At least they didn't start getting super sore until the last couple of days of holibobs when the weather got bad, and have only gone dreadful now when I don't have a journey back to be fearful about!
Have just scoffed rather a lot of the after eight selection box our friend kindly brought round. I am not regretting this
  • I must share this- I say I bought boring household items but the limited edition Elton John marmite is tickling me 😁

  • I had to google the Elton John marmite jar as I’d not seen it before (I don’t eat marmite). It’s the third year they’ve done it and to promote Elton’s AIDS and HIV charity. there will be a final one next year, all different designs. What I’ve missed out on by not liking marmite!!  Thanks for sharing, although glad you didn’t share the actual marmite! Xx

  • Might get kept for a quirky vase @KajiKita!

Morrisons for £3 @badmemory... and it's for a good cause as @southern_chick says

Very happy to be supporting and promoting that charity, but the gaudy-snazzy design and the randomness of Elton with Marmite is making me laugh every time I see it. Love it 😂

  • *waves to @Makingabobor2 from the diary future 😁

I am feeling extremely substandard (and this is compared to my normal substandard levels!)
Sore and exhausted with pain, made it to the local pub and back but walked sooooo slowly. Literally everyone was overtaking me, and as a fast walker, I am genuinely put out by this!

But managed admin, comping, tidying, a small bit of spec work, and put five free items on Olio- they're currently doing a prize for a £50 tesco voucher if you list five items relating to 'back to school' though reading between the lines I think it can be any five items, so if you have bits knocking around you've been meaning to list, do it before the 9th

We prepped cheesy potatoes for dinner which we'll have with baked vine tomatoes, so as long as a good dinner is in sight everything else can be just about coped with. Need to do better with walking more, drinking less, and getting more f&v, but while I'm in a f*ckton of pain I don't hugely care! Lots of tomato-y goodness coming my way shortly at least

Tomorrow's main things are an Olioer coming to collect four of the five items in the morning, Mr PIP taking the car for its MOT, chasing the ward councillor, and er all the many, many things on the to-do list

Hope everyone is having a financially and bodily acceptable bank holiday Monday x
