Happyish Sunday everyone! I am trying to give any bad vibes short shrift as we know the Sunday rule 😁

Receipt surveys
Not done the comping rounds today, but since I've been doing them for about a year and won nowt I'm sure I won't be missing out too terribly
Entered some other competitions, today I'm mostly looking forward to winning 1k but would also like some pyjamas and also some posh skincare thanking you
Little bit of work
Still need to make this nutritious and comforting meal but I'm sure it'll be worth it. Cancelled plans for this evening as in too much of a need-to-stay-in mood. Got a candle and a beer to admire the last of the sun on the doorstep with Mr PIP

Hope things have picked up for you?I tripped and accidentally ate half a pack of biscuits this evening. It's not so much the sugar as the gluten for me and I'll be regretting it at 3am. Did you read the no sugar book and identify any gems of wisdom? My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I am sorry to hear of your accident with a packet of biscuits. I hope you dont regret it at 3am.

I think probably those biscuits tripped and fell into your mouth @redofromstart, darned pesky biscuits. I put the book straight in the ziffit pile! I'm not borderline obese, don't have borderline diabetes, and life is too short to not enjoy the small indulgences that bring relief or joy to the day

It's the anniversary of my Dad dying today so I felt quite productive not just going back to bed and staying there, but some mse things have been done, albeit whilst wearing a bit of a shawl of sadness

Got shopmium cashback on primula I bought in the hope of using up shopmium credits, which occurred though I don't really understand them
Was going to get blood pressure checked then jumped a mile while watching an ant walking up the step when a spider jumped out at it so not today (the ant was okay as was the spider)
Some client work
20 minute carpet walk reading
Half wussy situps
Slow comping with poor internet but I bravely got through it with the help of half a packet of chocolate raisins. Should probably stop stuffing my face some day soon. But not now
Have been meaning to do a trim/repot of some house plants and as some of them were dads, made sure to do that today
20 minute walk to have a beer with a friend. He lost his mum not too long after dad died so it's nice to be able to have a chat about how even though it's been a few years it still hurts, without us feeling too morbid or like we're depressing someone who isn't processing similar things
Had good news while there, my pub mate who had throat cancer had an appointment today as they'd had to investigate whether it had come back. Turned out the lump at the site was just scar tissue. I'm so happy and relieved for him and his husband
Back to Mr PIPs and re-read the eulogy I gave at my dad's funeral. Feeling tearful but also warmed to remember lovely things.

That’s excellent news about you friend’s throat, he must have been so worried.
I’m sorry about your dad. My dad died during covid, but not of covid (although I think that contributed to the lack of medical care) and I didn’t get to his funeral. My mum was worried about the long journey (1000 mile round trip) and there were still travel restrictions. In the end I decided against it as she really didn’t want me to, but I do feel like I missed the chance to say goodbye (although I witter to the poor man daily 😬). I’m glad you could find comfort and ways of honouring your dad (he would have been smiling as you tended his plants ❤️) - trying to ‘do’ whilst wearing a shawl of sadness describes it well.On another note, the comment about expensive cruises to Antarctica whilst it is still so cold in London literally made me laugh out loud - good thing Mr KK has gone to work 😉😊

I'm glad you found some ways to remember your dad.
I initially read that you were going to report his plants rather than repot them. I wondered what they had done wrong and who you were going to report them to.1 -

I'm sorry for your loss @WinterWarrior and so sorry you had to make those decisions, and feel the lasting impact of them. It's very unfair that those of us who did the right thing are the ones that have such upset as part of our lives.
My Dad dying was similar circumstances to yours, and while I'm very grateful timings worked to give him a decent send-off, I will for the rest of my days be seething about not seeing him and supporting him, to try to keep him safe, when the prime minister and health minister who said to do so were partying and feeling up their aides in corridors.
It's not good to carry resentment in your heart but I will never, ever forgive or forget that
Glad my comment gave you a chuckle @KajiKita, it's still flippin cold!
The plants have thus far been reasonably well behaved @Blackcats but since mine and my dad's plants have a tendency to grow, and grow, and grow, they're likely candidates for an asbo at some point (but it won't be me reporting them!)
Ach @beanielou, 12 years sounds like lots of time but isn't very long compared to how long they were in our lives is it. I'm sorry for your loss.
And thanks all for your kind words, they are appreciated x6
