Awww, it is always sad to lose an old friend. It is one of those moments which throw us off kilter, isn't it?
An evening for treating yourselves kindly & sharing memories.

sad news about your family friend.  In time there will be lots of happy memories to share but for now it's absolutely fine to be sad.

Hugs to you and your mum for the loss of your friend. When you’ve known someone that long it’s like your axis tips a bit, as it throws you off kilter. Hope your day has been kind.

Mum is going round to see his partner this evening, and we've all said to make sure to tell us what we can be useful for

    Did:

Not completely losing my rag at the utilities company trying to increase mum's bill from just over £100pm to just under £400pm (have ranted about this on @foxgloves diary, sorry foxgloves!).
Hopefully will be sorted when they come, in just over a months time, to update the meters. Was proud of mum for calling straight away and disputing it, and proud of myself for not interfering by snatching up the phone and screaming 'you devious, pensioner killing, evil little sh*ts' at them.
(Obviously I know the fault is not with the person on the phone line)

    Client call

40 minute walk to Lidl to use coupon on coffee, added an extra five minutes walk

Put 40p from my purse into the loose change flat pot to assuage my conscience about not doing the 50p return and repurchase. Thought I'd treat myself to keeping 10p

Did the small bit of work

Slow and tedious trawl through google drive, got a few pics ready to send

Sent NI pot money to holding account, will do the payment to HMRC tomorrow when I'm less tired. Do not want to mess it up after the fight to get to this stage

There was under £200 left after that in the general instant access pot so left £100 in there just in case of times when I've been dense and need it, transferred the rest to next LISA pot

    Have not done:
    More small work
Preferably more steps, whether inside or out
Any progress on other bits on to-do list

Mr PIP working a little later than usual and I'm knackered so pub money saved. Will have a wee glass of wine on the sofa and see if it inspires me to do any of the 'not dones'. Not likely but you never know!

My condolences on your family friend. It is always hard losing someone you know.
  • No post yesterday as was rushing around doing bits before getting over to Mr PIPs.

Feeling quite anxious about everything. Not knowing when (or even if) council will give us the go ahead for the build is making me doubt the sense of moving into family friends flat.

And low mood is being compounded by the recent deaths, and I feel emotionally exhausted from the last few years which just seem to have been constant loss- of homes, communities, loved ones.

I know I'm fortunate in many ways, I'm grateful to have mum and Mr PIP and my friends, and grateful we're all reasonably well (touch wood).
I'm just so tired of having to keep constantly striving towards a goal that we don't know is going to happen.

Just having a down day/week, will try to buck my ideas up soon! I just don't think I can bear more change and goodbyes without having any indication from council that we won't still be in the same position in two years and will have had so much more upheaval and stress

Hope everyone is finding some rays of internal sunshine on this cold and rainy Friday x
