  • Bit of a dragging-myself-through sort of day but these type of days are just as productive in their own way aren't they, at least we've bothered to drag ourselves through!

Sainsers receipt survey for someone else's shopping that was left on the till

Tidying including running dregs of recycling down just in time
And sorting the salad drawer and salvaging edible bits from turning-manky bits

Admin, comping, and staring mournfully at the looong to-do list

40 minute walk including taking the bag to charity shop
Collected an Olio rucksack including a free carrier bag!
Found some dishwasher tablet samples and a laundry scent
And a strong supermarket bag a neighbour was chucking out, which will be very useful for bunging odds and ends in if we move

Uploaded coop pics for their comp. I hope, their website is dreadful

Had a sustaining bit of cake. Must get out of the winter habit of afternoon junk food. But not yet.

Got my Just Eat refund, sent back to current account

Entered some competitions, today I'm mostly looking forward to winning 1k and would also like an Easter hamper please

    Resisted going to the pub

    20 minute carpet walk

    Sorted some emails

Now I'm going to sit down and read and have a final attempt at the weekend crossword. Dinner is mum's use-it-up veggie splodge with pasta and loadsa cheese, and a glass of red wine.
I'm still keeping 'be as cheap as possible in March' faith, going to feel like a right lady of luxury spending an extra 10p on the nicer wine in April 😂

I had a ‘Lordy, I am flipping tired today, one foot in front of the other is all I can do’ day too. Like you though, I found it quite productive 😊

    ’veggie splodge’? I’m intrigued 🤔

Seed & bean emailed me a hamper competition. I’m looking forwards to winning it, but wouldn’t mind if you or anyone spotting this on aninbetweenphase land win instead 🤭

  • You splodge the veg and chopped tomatoes in the pan, once all splodged up, you splodge it on yer plate @KajiKita 😁

Had a goggleoggle but couldn't see the comp @WinterWarrior so it must just be for special people like yourself who deserve lots of delicious chocolate

That baffled me, but I went to my deleted emails and it’s in collaboration with Caroline Gardner and the link takes you to that page instead. It looks a nice little hamper with the chocolate and some pottery.

The veg used for splodging …? Precooked or stir fry type stuff that cooks up quickly? 😊

  • Ooh ta @WinterWarrior, though where I'll fit it in amongst all my other prizes is a puzzle 😂 Good thing I'm once again surely winning an Omaze house and Ernie's million next month. Phew!

@KajiKita I have consulted with mum to make sure I'm not speaking on her behalf and it's basically base of onion and garlic heated in olive oil, then chuck in your chopped chunky raw veg (whatever needs using up and whatever you like, but courgette usually features!), a couple of tins of chopped tomatoes, whatever herbs and spices you fancy (mum usually goes for mixed herbs, paprika, and a touch of ginger and cumin), and she adds in a tin of lentils or chickpeas or kidney beans.
Simmer and stir every so often until veg has softened (so half hour ish; not immediate but not super long).
It's a good way to use up veg/get portions of (f&)v in, and not much more effort to do a large batch in a big pan so you have containers of it left for fridge and freezer. Heats up well and quickly in microwave as leftovers too.
We have it with pasta but you could add less chopped tomatoes and have it for bruschetta, or more tomatoes and liquid and have it as a stew type thing.
That was a long way of basically saying 'splodge it in' 😂

Thank you for sharing the Splodge Technique in detail - as you say a good and tasty way of getting more veg in 😊

  • Bit tired and achy and stressy. Probably 'just' hormones/CPC. Would be nice to get some friends flat/council permissions news so I'm better able to focus on what needs to be done and envisage our likely near future though!

Admin in bed for half an hour
    Tidying
    Rest of admin

    Small bit of work
    Shower and hairwash
    Half comping

25 minute walk, found 2 McMo tokens for their current comp, and a book on quitting sugar

Ate half a packet of biscuits

    Rest of comping
    Small bit of work
    Half wussy situps
    Small bit of work

    Half hour carpet walk

Checked March Budget to make sure all bits and bobs on list are allocated usefully in diary

Did a very leading survey on cats. Like @SouthCoast's survey on AI that was clearly written by AI so one couldn't give a negative opinion of AI, I suspect this one was commissioned by cats, it was practically 'Do you think cats are':
    A. Fab
    B. Brill
    C. Awesome
    (All of the above obvs)

Peeled spuds that were going green, cooked and mashed them for freezer

Dinner is stuffed pasta with lazy cupboard sauce. Gosh I love lazy cupboard sauce
