    Indeed @EssexHebridean though as I find Boots are usually more pricey than other places I suspect I'd end up having a lot of the same conversations with myself I'm currently having with myself over the remainder of my M&S voucher;

    'It's much cheaper elsewhere'
'Yes but you don't have to pay any money'
    'Yes but it's not economical'
'Well it is, isn't it, because you don't have to pay any money'
'Yes but it's much cheaper elsewhere'
    😂
This is me whenever I have Amazon credit but actually want to buy from ebay 🤣!

Ooooh, there's some food for thought for you & Mr PiP there, isn't there, regarding the possibility of renting a place together. It's lovely that you've been able to live with your Mum & I'm sure she's loved having you, but we all need our own space, don't we, & it would be nice for you not to have to travel to see Mr PiP & actually to be together. I hope everything works out for you on that front, whichever you decide. One bonus for the property owner, of course, is that they would be getting a decent tenant & not some unknown person who turns out to be some sort of non-paying, flat-destroying skanker! I'm sure you are thinking through all the pros & cons and I hope progress can be made if you are able to go for it.
In fact, Pip, I am giving you a note excusing you from sit-ups for the rest of the weekend, as you can use the time more constructively for pros & cons re this accommodation offer. I wrote notes for my friends fairly regularly at school purporting to come from their parents to get them off PE or showers. I had nicely loopy 'adult' handwriting & no PE teacher ever queried why quite a few parents wrote in such a very similar way. At this time of year, my price for supplying a suitable letter was 1 C*dbury's cream egg, & then I was off...."Dear Miss *********, I'm afraid Debbie cannot do athletics this morning as she is suffering the effects of an extremely heavy period, etc, etc".

  • Thanks for my note @foxgloves 😁 Big fan of the bartering in creme eggs too!
I think we would definitely take our family friends up on the offer as being able to save a wodge on rent at a time when we'll hopefully be paying for building works would be incredibly useful, but I'm trying not to get too attached to the idea in case it doesn't happen!
  • Think I overdid it with the things yesterday as fairly tired and achy today, not helped by not being able to get back to sleep after getting up for a pee after six hours kip!

But Saturday mse things have been dun:

Took some pics of a perfume bottle and wrote a description, and sent them to Mr PIP to put on ebay

Got paid for a job, 20% to tax pot

Requested £10 cash out from surveys

Shower and hairwash and shaved my winter legs (well, lower legs, let's not go mad*). Bit cold 😂
Treated myself to using my actual body moisturiser rather than out of date suncream

25 minute walk getting (cheap) bits from Aldi, dropped off a Vinted sale, and recycled plastic packaging

Cleaned bedroom and that's quite enough for today!

Dinner will be a baked potato that needs using and salad. Might do baked tomatoes too

*I mean, not thighs, not that I've only shaved enough to flash a bit of ankle. Though that might have been a better idea 😁

I'm laughing at the post from @Foxgloves. My best friend and I regularly wrote each others PE notes. I think if our mums had ever written one we would have been accused of forgery because the handwriting would have been so different.

Well done for going out for a walk PiP. It's rained all day here and it's cold too.

My mom happily wrote me notes excusing me from PE, showers and swimming. I had more “periods” than anyone 🤣 How hideous were those communal showers though, absolutely hated them 🙁 When I got older and braver I used to just skive off games and PE. Despite my love of exercise it didn’t extend to the sort of exercise we were forced to do at school. I’m still not interested in any form of sport.

Sport at school was barbaric. I opted out in the end.

Oh and chart is plan…I’m talking myself into it!

also, I hated pe and the showers with a passion. I was asthmatic, always picked last, not a cool girl…showers were torture! The fastest we ever ran was running through the showers holding a towel over our heads as we had to go in one end and out the other, the water barely touched us. Why did they torture children like that?
