  • Thank you, and how curious @Sun_Addict, it's usually one person having volume too loud and everyone else complaining. Has he always had super hearing? Do you think it's a result of his brain injury? Or do you reckon he can't hear it either and he's on a long term wind up? 🤔

The long term wind up idea is hilarious. Maybe SA should start speaking at a barely audible volume to see if he can really hear it 🤭

  • The beer sounds interesting - there’s often some stuff worth having in Al’s I find - they do various Williams Bros cans for a start - Williams are one of our favourite breweries. Their own label dark beer - a coffee Porter type affair is also very nice.

You’ve inspired me on the receipt surveys too - I just did the Lil’s one from yesterday. I’ve never done them regularly, and now I think about it, I might as well, mightn’t I!

  • Ooh there's a sneaky but amusing scientific experiment @WinterWarrior 😁

I'll try to keep an eye out for William Bros @EssexHebridean, ta. And glad to have been an inspiration! If you've got a receipt with a survey opportunity then it's only a couple of minutes and you might end up with very useful points/vouchers. Remember your pal PIP when you're a Lidlonnaire 😂

Feeling shoddy with period starting. Can I not have one day off from feeling s*** 😭

Got my first offer from TryIt- free prescription delivery. It wasn't clear as to how it would work, and I don't take well to things saying I have to do something within 24 hours. I do have a busy life napping you know. Declined but hopefully I'm still on their list if something less dodgy-sounding comes up

Entered some competitions, not much I'm fancying today but I will gratefully accept some cash, books, and candles

Managed to pull myself together enough after an hour in bed reading (Cellist of Sarajevo, I recommend) to walk to the pub to see mates which was nice though a real reminder of how much the deafness is lingering

On the way I popped into Superdrug thinking I'd pay an extra 20p or so for the convenience of having supplies of ibuprofen in, cheapest £1.49 for a pack of 8 tablets. I don't think so

Extremely unimpressed by all the mother's day adverts and emails trying to get people to spend unnecessarily, especially on completely irrelevant items.
Don't you love your mum? Don't you want her to love you? Then why haven't you bought her some HAM

Mr PIP has said he'll get us chips for dinner and I am very happy with the notion of easy comfort food

It drives me nuts we’ve gone from the hard sell of Valentines to Mothers Day and Easter 😩 I opt out of the Mother’s Day emails as I sadly lost mine 24 years ago 🙁

I’ve only ever had products to test from TryIt.

Luckily my maw is away for Mothers Day this year.  Just a lot of commercialised twaddle.

  • Isn't everything @beanielou
I'll stick with the traditional bunch of flowers and a lunch or equivalent together. Definitely not buying HAM or similar 😁

Sorry for your loss (no matter how many years ago) @Sun_Addict. I also opt out of all mothers day emails I can, if a company is giving me an opportunity to not be inundated with meaningless twaddle I'm taking it

    Little bit of work

Disqualified from survey for not using a mainline train station 2-3 times a week

20 minute lunchtime walk with Mr PIP, he got a free muffin from M&S and we split that with a cuppa

Did the receipt survey straight away

Mr PIP has used up a day of annual leave and booked a day off work at the end of the week to hopefully see the surveyor and find out if anything is ever actually going to happen with the build consents

Another 20 minute walk with Mr PIP to have a post work beer (with Camra discount) and catch up on our doings from while we were apart

Aldi pizza for dinner with additional onion for some f&v, and aiming for an early night in hope of feeling much improved re virus and period tomorrow

Have started reading the This Is London book by Ben Judah and it is excellent

I hope MrPIP and the surveyor can make headway on the consents.  It will be a boost if you can see your new home starting to make some progress albeit progress through the tedious paperwork phase.

fingers crossed the pizza and extra onion is the magic virus killing, hearing restoring concoction.
