  • I opt out of all Mothers Day guilt trip emails as thankfully both mine and MrEH's Mums very sensibly say "no thanks, rather than being bought something on a day when you've been told to do so, we'd far rather you just occasionally did something nice for us without doing it out of guilt"  :D No complaints from either of us about that - and yes, we do!

That made me smile about you splitting a free muffin - that was exactly what MrEH and I did with the free Lidl one from last week's spin to win thing!

  • A £1k Boots voucher would certainly keep you in all things toiletry and vitaminey for a decent while wouldn't it...fingers crossed!

  • Indeed @EssexHebridean though as I find Boots are usually more pricey than other places I suspect I'd end up having a lot of the same conversations with myself I'm currently having with myself over the remainder of my M&S voucher;

    'It's much cheaper elsewhere'
'Yes but you don't have to pay any money'
    'Yes but it's not economical'
'Well it is, isn't it, because you don't have to pay any money'
'Yes but it's much cheaper elsewhere'

Vinted sale for a couple of quid, which we'll try to find a locker for tomorrow

    Small bit of work

Shower and hairwash, finally used up the last bottle of travel toiletries me and mum sorted. Only the old sun creams to go!

    25 minute walk

    Three surveys

Chased up HMRC complaint via online form which apparently I could have used in the first place but was told by HMRC I had to write a letter. They just get better and better don't they. Now have to wait 30 working days

    Weekly coop receipt survey

    Quarter wussy situps

    Little bit more work

Mr PIP coming over after work and dinner will be from the stores we have in- either egg, chip and beans (egg form to be decided) or pasta bake...

  • Completely forgot how to make omelette.
Just chucked eggs in pan and stared at it thinking 'this isn't right'. It was still tasty but combined with my budget uncertainty and a couple of other brain-not-workings in the last few days, I really need to get better soon before my brain turns into complete mush

Have been trying not to push myself especially in this weather as just want to recover and be well (or at least my version!) but I think I probably have to as not getting the physical reward and the interacting with world benefit of pushing myself to go for walks whether I like it or not, is probably the most likely culprit for doolallyness

But onto the Thursday, happy leap year day everyone- truly tis blessèd as me and Mr PIP won £2.60 on the lottery 😁

An hour round walk with Mr PIP to drop off vinted parcel and go to now-nearest Lidl, was the most I've walked without a rest in about a month. Tired out!

    Did the receipt survey

Checked shopmium as I have £1.50 credit but no deals good enough on things I'd use

Entered some competitions, today I'm mostly looking forward to winning some wine and cheese but I would also like to win some work boots for Mr PIP so he can have safe feet on the build site should any building ever occur.
I also enjoyed doing a survey that was mostly slagging off modern music like a right curmudgeon, the £250 Amazon voucher win would be a bonus

A 15 minute walk to have a local beer with Mr PIP and check out the gastropub for our reunion date which is now going to be a reunion with me not having ouchy ears date. It's pleasant enough but pricey without anything that made me excited on the menu. Same for it as a potential for mothers day meal. Will keep pondering

Dinner is stuffed pasta from Lidl with jar of lazy cupboard sauce. Could have been more mse but as I could easily be tempted into much more expensive easy comforting ready meals or take away food, I'm calling that a din-din-win

  • Agreed on din-din-wins - sometimes you have it take advantages where you can find them don’t you! As for the omelette thing, I’ve been known to end up with an omelette having forgotten to stir scrambled eggs… 🤦🏻‍♀️
