  • LaPlan might have a thought with the steaming - allowing that everything up there is linked in one way of another (the hospitals don't have an "Ear, nose and throat" department by accident!) it might well fall into the "can't make anything worse" heading for ear-clearing. Honestly - we couldn't have come up with more things for you to throw at this rotten virus could we - if you were to do all of them it would be a full time job in itself!

It does sound like you're perhaps finally turning a corner here though - fingers crossed. (Fingers have now been crossed so long they're beginning to get cramp!)

I feel for you on the loss of your L1dl store - ludicrously we have two near us now - at opposite sides of the town. Then again we also have an Als, 3 T's, a Sains and an Asd@ - and needless to say I'm still discontented that we don't have a Mozzas!

Yes, I have to say that the 'go-to' cold, head, sinus, ear thing in our house was always steaming over a basin, often just with water in my case, but my Mum & Grandparents used to add a very odd-smelling potion called 'Friar's balsam'. Mum swore by it, but I couldn't bear the smell.
You sound a tiny bit brighter, @PennysIntoPounds, but I think it really has lingered on horribly, & is clearly still making its presence felt.
I can't think of anything helpful to add that hasn't been suggested already, so will just reiterate that I hope you improve very soon,

  • Heh thanks @EssexHebridean and I'm sorry for your lack of Mozzas 😁
I have been doing steaming and many of the other suggestions on here, but at the end of the day viruses are gonna virus and there's not a lot one can do about tons of yellow phlegm (sorry for the TMI). Body is trying to shake it but it's a brutal one. At least it looks horrible outside, I'd be extra seething if everyone was flouncing around parks and pub gardens accompanied by bluebirds and butterflies

Poor you.  This really is a bug*er
  • Cheers @foxgloves @beanielou and @Blackcats Surely I'll be better tomorrow, SURELY
  • Right, I think that's as much thinking as I'm capable of today. Will resume that job tomorrow. Hopefully feeling weller!

    Other bits done:

Did shower and hairwash. Very tiring

Few receipt surveys, mostly bemoaning local Lidl closure

Tried to give nectar canvass another go. Absolutely dreadful. Answered loads of free questions before getting on to the survey which was not the one I clicked through for then the survey design wouldn't let you continue because of a mismatch between their tables

25 minute walk recycling plastic packaging and checked in Tesco Express who have salt and vinegar Walkers! But then I remembered I have a voucher that needs activating so didn't get them 😁
I stopped weighing myself, don't need the additional worry and I will happily take a quarter stone loss or gain for this virus to p*** off

Can't wait to be able to shower and work and walk all in one day without feeling absolutely knackered. Though I may be remembering 'only' having to cope with joints (and period) through rose tinted spectacles 😂

Then you've got 13 days to detox and de-podge before you can eat chocolates and drink vintage champagne for Valentines.
    I'll be honest @Blackcats, you've had better ideas 😂

Some people aka me.. make loads mucus when they eat dairy - not saying you do - but might be also worth stopping too much dairy whilst you struggling with a chest infection etc - so loads champagne and DF chocolate ..
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.
