  • I hope you feel better soon.  I too believe cauliflower cheese should cure most things.

Cauliflower cheese, especially when made by a mum is the best food for a poorly person.

could you use your Tesco voucher to buy the cheese and onion crisps, binge eat them and then have a close up "eff off" type conversation with creepy man at the pub?  Cheese and onion breath would surely deter him.  Seriously though I hope he doesn't spoil your trips to your local.

wishing you a better day today.

  • Yeah, I was delusional.

Dreamt I was part of the genetic code for a parasite of something called the mutsan fly, and I was trying to show everyone else how pretty it was if I folded my code into rings and if they did the same and we matched them by colour then we could lock together much more securely and kill the host more quickly.
But there wasn't enough room to be able to form ourselves like this so I had to divide myself into two and squeeze in with everyone else and that was fine as the host will die but I was a bit miffed as my way was more elegant.

That was my cue to wake up with the most awful coughing so far, it seemed endless and threw my body into exorcist positions, desperately trying to cough up some thing that's not there or can't be found, whilst simultaneously trying to cower and hold my joints and connective tissue together in the places that felt most like tearing or breaking.

I think today might be a sleep and read day.
  • I have however eaten a bowl of cereal so let it not be said I didn't achieve anything today

Sleep and read all the way PiP. You need to listen to your body on this - post viral stuff is the very last thing you need at the moment, and if you try to push through and carry on with even a reduced level of "normal" you stand a huge risk of ending up with something very much like long covid. I know this is the last thing you want to hear, but please - sleep and read, and repeat until better.

    Agree with EH.
My DS had something similar to long COVID & it was not pleasant.

What a horrible virus this is, PiP. You really have been poorly quite long enough now. I hate those horrible coughing fits which just won't stop. My covid cough lasted for over 6 weeks, even when all the other symptoms had gone
    Sending sympathy.

  • After my earlier post I went back to bed and managed the occasional couple pages of book before sleeping again

I was reading The Hearing Trumpet by Leonora Carrington which is ironic and also I have no idea if the book was most odd or if I've gone full doolally, but I enjoyed it's company nonetheless

Ears are so much more blocked. I hadn't thought that possible but there we go, life is full of surprises

Finally up and basic hygiene attended to at 4pm

Entered some competitions, today I'm mostly looking forward to winning a two night stay in London but I would also like some prosecco plus an Easter egg please as I've had to put up with a lot

    Did a Lidl receipt survey

    Did the washing up

An item has sold on Vinted and the drop off point is only at the bottom of my road so I'm just having a small beer from my bargain beer box then I am going to attempt bravely going for a five minute round walk- this is not pushing myself btw @EssexHebridean! I very much want to be outdoors and away from my sick bed for five minutes! I do absolutely agree with you though, just need to get this over with, with a minimum of damage. I wasn't able to do anything other than sleep today so body ruled

So frustrating to not be at my important work meeting today, it's not like as a freelancer I have structured, recognisable opportunities for progression.
I have one big job that needs to be done by the end of the weekend and I have another big job that is Tues to Thurs next week (all from home) so praying I can do those or I'll be seriously letting my clients, my reputation, and my budget down

Surely this has to be the worst of it (*laughs in bitter*)

I have written a note at the start of winter in my diary to get flu and covid jabs and to not allow myself to talk myself out of it for money saving reasons. This is the longest and worst I've been ill since I had mumps about 20 years ago
