Oh I'm so sorry about the cat.  It's heartbreaking to lose a beloved pet.
and so sorry that you feel so awful.  All you can do is what you are already doing and try to rest and drink plenty of fluids and eat what you fancy.

No wonder you feel so fed up 🙁 Hopefully tomorrow’s nurse appointment is of some use. You never know the nurse might call the GP in to take a look for a second opinion as this has happened when I’ve taken Mr SA in the past.

I really hope you start to feel better soon 🙏

  • Nurse, and doctor who she asked to see me, said no sign of bacterial infection and it's definitely a virus. Nothing they can do and nothing they can do about combined impact with chronic pain condition on body soreness and exhaustion. Just rest and fluids, forever and ever and ever

A very odd group meeting of people sitting separately around the reception area, I'm not sure what was going on but they seemed most peculiar, says the woman who was having a snooze on the back bench. The (?cult) leader kept going up to people and whispering to them, but the audability of her whisper was the same wherever she was in the room. She has the Mona Lisa eyes of whispering! I think I might be going doolally

A 40 minute walk though including quickly popping into Lidl (well masked up) to use their garlic bread and pizza coupons so at least there's easy food in the freezer should I be able to see Mr PIP any time this century

Have checked several shops for multipacks of salt and vinegar Walkers to have easy calories access (and enter their comp if I'm eating junk) and nowhere seems to do them! I'll take plummeting weight over inferior flavour crisps thank you very much

Nearly went 'sod it' and went for a pint knowing the beer garden would be empty but then remembered I hadn't eaten anything. There are levels of unwiseness.

So yet another day stretching ahead of feeling too unwell to do anything and not being able to look forward to anything

Mr PIP has been very lovely and sent me a bunch of flowers so I can at least admire those

Hope everyone is having a life x

  • Determined to stay awake all day in the hope of overpowering cough with sleep at an earlier time tonight, I have done some mse things:

Compared rates as Tandem instant access saver is going down from 5% to 4.90%. Nothing out there worth faff, especially as I’m trying to keep banking looking as unfaffed as possible before we get mortgage, whenever that day may be

Moved pretty much everything from today’s list to future lists, which is very productive because I am keeping faith that I may actually do them at some point

Our local Lidl is closing in less than a week (which is very annoying) so have made notes in the diary to stroll past near the date in case of any good clearance sales

Checked when my tesco vouchers are due to expire (thank you for the reminder Martin Lewis). I’m fine as not til 2026, but I hadn’t realised I have a £2.50 voucher waiting for me. Maybe I’ll check a different Tesco store and see if they have salt and vinegar walkers multipacks. The one I checked before had three shelf places all rammed with cheese and onion. I’ve nothing against cheese and onion but no-one needs that much cheese and onion, especially not to the detriment of other choices

Having a glass of red wine- even though I still feel appalling and nothing has changed physically, I’m secretly hopeful I may be getting better as I feel a lot more p***** off, and I feel like this is a good sign, you need a certain amount of underlying potential energy to be really p***** off.

I’ve been stressing myself whilst not able to sleep about a guy down the pub who’s been increasingly creepy, and has made me start hardly going there. When I’m better I think a very serious word will need to be had. If I could now stop intrusively rehearsing this in my head that would be fantastic.

But I am hopeful that feeling ‘this virus can eff off and this creepy bloke can eff off’ is the start of the road to recovery. (Please please please please please)

Also did the weekly allowance of co-op receipt survey.

Mum is doing cauliflower cheese for dinner, which I am also optimistic will cure pretty much all of the things

  • Or I might just be deluding myself out of frustration and boredom, in the hope of being able to do anything and ending up sicker for longer and in a worse situation. Who knows, I'm not the knower of the things
  • All sounds grim but hurrah for mr PIP and the flowers.
