Our local Forestry England park has introduced car park charges which has killed to visitors by around 50% this is the rubbish signage:

This sign attempts to make adding £60 on top of the £100 part of the so-called contract but the thread shows the signs just aren't seen by drivers pulling in to drop off at the station ...

...and even if the sign could be seen, that minuscule, dirty small print couldn't...

...and 'no grace period applies' so even if you DID read that sign you'd already have a PCN coming in the post later, thanks to the lurking oik undertaking secret surveillance.

Useless.

Such a pile of brightly coloured wordy gobbledegook! Even the £100 is hard to spot and the t&cs look to be in 12 point font.

Nothing to specify the sum of any DRA fee add-on but interestingly:

I see the final line states that cancelling a correctly issued PCN (presumably after a landowner complaint) costs £10.

Not the £20 the industry is trying to get past the MHCLG then!

Well known tactic I mentioned in the consultation - make your contract as long as possible so that your type size has to be minimal AND you gain the added effect of an absolute blitz of visual noise.

Half that text is irrelevant and can go.

My dyslexic other half wouldn't have a chance in reading or understanding any of that and would actually leave the car park. She only parks where an app option is available and literally texts me a photo of the sign for me to pay on the app remotely.

Yep, I'm sure it says "Free Parking" and I defy the PPC to prove otherwise!

I zoomed in on that final red section and it vaguely mentions 'additional charges' but the sum is not specified.

The added £70 fee extortion is an ambush, not a deterrent as the industry would have the MHCLG believe.

Also in breach of the DMCC Act 2024 and the CRA 2015 because the known escalation 'cost' or late fee or whatever they dress it up as, is not specified.
