Another vote for reverting to the previous version. It needs more contrast and less wasted white space. It's also another site where it's too easy to block the content with things that pop up randomly as you mouse over them and then won't go away.If there is still a "mark category viewed" button. It was well hidden in the previous version and has now completely disappeared.

We've responded a few times in the thread, but the team are focusing on reading all the feedback, prioritising and investigating solutions to issues - this all takes time.
We'll have a more detailed general update soon, and we thank everyone for their patience in the meantime. Thanks, but that's the sort of comment I'd like to have seen from MSE staff much sooner. It was clear on Monday that the response to this "upgrade" was about 90% negative, but unfortunately the main thing we've seen from MSE in reply is a reminder about being friendly.Instead of the red box at the top of these pages saying about being friendly to staff, it would be much better to have it in all areas of the forum and it say something like:"Thank you for all your feedback so far about the forum changes. Please be reassured that we're taking all your comments on board and will make changes as soon as possible."8 -
The more I look at this new site layout, the worse it seems to be.
The front landing page has become tacky/bizare. I don't want to see hens in dust, rolla-costers or a woman with hair extensions.
I want to come on here and find what I'm looking for. I don't want to get over-whelmed with junk. We get enough junk, elsewhere on the internet.
It's money saving, not spend time 'hunting' for what your looking for.
We live in a world where many people now struggle to focus.
MSE new layout does not help.
The right hand side banner is a distraction, as is the new landing page.
Just roll it right back.. Preferably, to the version two back.
This change is too much for my dyslexia.5 -

No, it's still a misfit.

Agree with all that has been said about this shambles of an update. I suspect no regular users were given the chance to review this new version before roll out!0

After reading this post, its nice to see the vast majority are against these visual changes. 44 pages of comments and positive ones can be counted on 1 hand..
Now the question is... does MSE forums listen to their users, or plough on anyways ignoring their users even though the vast majority are against it.
Personally, I am a desktop browser user and for me the new layout is terrible, hard to read, lots of wasted space, distracting menus sliding down covering a vast swathe of content are just a few issues.
I just hope MSE forums either give a toggle to use the better (previous) layout or someone makes a Tampermonkey layout to let us restore this current eyesore to a decent forum layout change and back to a semblance of normality.

I REALLY miss the ability to be able to mark all posts on all the boards I follow as 'Read' in one go. This facility enabled me to mark where I’d got up to, making it easier to find where I needed to go back to on the next visit.
Is there any way that the time could perhaps be added to the date for latest posts prior to the current day? That at least would enable users to go back to roughly the time they last looked (particularly if it was the previous evening), rather than having to go in and out of posts to see which was the nearest to their last visit.7
