Swipe said:I normally spend a few hours a day on here but now find myself just not having the urge to visit any longer. I've given it a couple of days and I absolutely hate it. The absolute worst part is not having the forum index links at the bottom of each page. Scrolling back up to get to the forum index ruins the experience for me. I agree it's time to roll back the changes to the old version.1

Hi, I’m sorry but I’m really struggling with lack of contrast (dark mode doesn’t work for my condition) and I can’t seem to find anywhere to change the colour and display options to allow different colours or revert back to an old version of the forum. The sub forums underneath the forum sections are very difficult to read and find for me.I’ve previously been involved and contributed to site changes via the consultations and additional surveys but this forum update seems to be a backward step for accessibility from previous versions.
Having the posters names and details above each post really disrupts trying to read a thread and these were much better when to the side or in small bands above and I could look for the poster’s name if I wanted it but generally could just read the main thread panel of posts sequentially via selection which is now not possible.
I understand it looks what some consider more modern etc but without the options to change display or simply revert to previous version used, it’s going to make it very difficult for people like me and there’s no time to even adapt slowly by alternating and learning the new layouts in our own time with a longer date set for full switchover if it needs to happen e.g. I came on for a quick browse but due to the changes I’m going to log off again now and will have to wait until I have much longer available to be able to work my way through finding where all the sub forums which are important to me are and then finding a way to make them more readable myself.7 -
Apart from the awful font when typing your response, I note that there still is no fix for the issue I reported months ago that, when one has read a thread and goes back to the list of threads, the one you have just read still shows as having new posts!0

It's a money saving forum. Why do I need to see a hen in soil, when I come to this site? Is there any logical reason? Or even crafting card? I've no interest in either subject.
It's beyond irritating.4 -
Gone are the days of scanning the 'Latest Posts' and clicking on something that just catches your eye. Personally I am quite sad as that was the bit that I enjoyed most about coming on here but this 'upgrade' has just made it too much faff. I'll still come back if I have a specific queston but will probably miss out on those useful things that you never knew you needed to know.Debt Free Wannabe by 1 December 2027

Deep seated hatred of Scottish Power and all who sail in her - would love to see Ofgem grow a pair and actually do something about it.5 -
Out of interest - and I'm not sure anyone will share this info officially - but now the 'new has been in place for over 24 hours, what are the general trends of posting compared to before the upgrade? Obviously there's a flurry of posts here in the feedback thread - but how's general posting? Thread creation? Views? Replies? Is anyone taking a look at the metrics to see how the forum is being used post vs pre? Or are there plans to do so over the coming days?I too am one that used to scan the latest posts pages to see what was new, and dive into anything that caught my eye. Currently I've stopped doing that as it's just not comfortable on the eye, involves too much scrolling, and just there's still just too much wasted space along with too many 'lifestyle' photos linking off to something or other that I have no interest in.As someone mentioned - why am I staring at a chicken when I look at the forum homepage rather than the forum itself?6

Sorry, but I don't like it. Has it been designed to view on a mobile phone in potrait mode? That's what it looks like.On a laptop there's about 60% of nothing except or some form of promoting/advrtising on the expanse of nothing to the right. Not to my liking unfortunately. Can't comment on fuctionality, but it's the visual aspect that's poor, in my opinion, depending on the device being used to view.1

I'd like to get my head around notifications, as it really isn't making much sense to me at the moment.I've worked out that the little green dot (not shown on the photo above) means that there should be a genuinely new post - although that sometimes seems to work, and sometimes doesn't. Just like the little red dot with a white number inside - that sometimes seems to work, and sometimes doesn't.But in general, it keeps taking me back to stuff I've seen yesterday, or have already read. Why does it tell us there are X new comments when there are none? Is this a 'Broken and we're trying to fix it' - or is this 'that's how it's supposed to look and work'?In the photo above there were 5 new comments at 10.57, 2 new comments at 10.43, 14 new comments at 10.27, 3 new comments at 10.14 - all relating to exactly the same thread. (And of course none of them are actually 'new' as I've read them all).

I posted this with a link to another thread:

It's all well and good doing clickbait money moral dilemmas each week to encourage new members but...
I worry that long term posters providing excellent advice on a number of different boards - Debtfree wannabe, Pensions, Benefits etc - will be put off providing that advice by this new look.6 -

It's early days so I imagine they will be taking it all in and then deciding if they need to change anything.
We've responded a few times in the thread, but the team are focusing on reading all the feedback, prioritising and investigating solutions to issues - this all takes time.
We'll have a more detailed general update soon, and we thank everyone for their patience in the meantime.
