Figured it, the page numbers do not work in portrait but do in landscape.
Issue is not many people would turn their phone that way when browsing a forum2 -

Spoonie_Turtle said:Spoonie_Turtle said:Small niggle: 'latest post' on a board does not show the time of that latest post, so I don't know whether I have to check that board for new posts or not. It would 'only' save about 2 clicks/taps per board, but when everything on here is taking longer anyway it's just extra annoying.
Just want to illustrate exactly what I mean, as words aren't my forte
In turquoise is where the 'at xx:yy' time should go, for the latest post.
In yellow is completely unnecessary, I don't care how long I've been 'following' a board, it's in my saved/favourites because I want it to be, that's all there is to it. Remove that and there's loads of room to include the time of the latest post!
(Come to think of it, does anyone need to know how many discussions are on a board either?)
Edit: oh, and it's back to how it was before. That's weird, but great that we know it can be done …0 -
It was probably mentioned already, but the huge drop-down menus (pop-ups actually, no click is needed), page-wide, when my mouse pointer accidentally crosses Quick Links or Categories in the top bar are EXTREMELY annoying. What if I want to get to some of the top threads that get blocked?Who invented this nonsense?! Who needs this useless white space and stupid meaningless pictures? Thanks God that this bar isn't full of links with drop-downs and sometimes I manage to cross it without trouble!1

I would just like to say.
I've only been with MSE for about 6 months, on everyday sometimes for many hours
I found it informative, interesting and exciting, sometimes funny, one could hardly keep up with the latest post board
Sadly no more.
I find it slow, posts on other boards don't seem to come to latest thread board so have to change boards more and spend more time scrolling and page turning
The look of it doesn't bother me much on my iPad, it's how easy it is to navigate and have plenty of interesting threads (to me) flowing
I doubt I will spend as much time on it now2 -
I just clicked on "Forum Home". I'm on a PC with a huge monitor and "Forum Home" does not show the forum. You have to scroll down to find it. Bad design.
Also, do the designers of the new look have poor eyesight, because everything isVERY BIG
It's all a bit Fisher Price "My First Forum"4 -
I haven't read all 38 pages but is there anyway to default the lastest threads to newest comments rather than newest created?
I'm having to change it everytime I come to MSE
(Edited to say pages not posts)1 -
There also seems to be a caching issue on forum pages and the Latest Threads page, they seem to have a lag of anywhere up to five minutes for a delay before new threads/posts are displayed. If one posts this shows on the thread, but on the category page that might not show for up to five minutes, or on the Latest Threads, the same with other people's posts. One can even log out, log in again on an different browser, look at the category page and see it showing as no new posts, yet when clicking on the thread there will be new posts on the thread timestamped in the intervening period. This does not seem to be consistent, sometimes it is instant, other times there appears to be a lag of up to five minutes.
Tested on Chrome and Edge, using standard and private browsing sessions so cache was totally clear, seems entirely random.0
