Glad Mr TT's doctor is being so positive. He'll be home soon.
Himself has had a real wobble this weekend. But I've really tried to speak to him and say that he cannot be thinking the worst and worrying about me because that is not helping at all. So on the plus side I have booked hotels in Amsterdam and Berlin in January. The trip we had to cancel this year. Really nice hotels, saunas, breakfast included etc. Sod the cost. It's something to look forward to.
Also one of our little friends came in with two enormous slices of her birthday cakes for us. Now how good a day can that be?Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8 -
We have had proper rain this afternoon / evening, the first for weeks. So no need for watering - even the stuff in the mini greenhouse got some as the roof was openMuch to my surprise I am up to 10 NSDs. Today wasn't one as I bought some veggie plants from a boot fair to fill in gaps, and paid the milk bill.I cooked a chicken this afternoon, and had some of it for dinner, with our own new potatoes and lettuce, and crumble made from home grown loganberries and rhubarb
There will be plenty of everything for another meal tomorrow too.
Gave the neighbours a lettuce, and one of my work colleagues some rhubarb, after hearing her reminiscing about her mum's rhubarb crumble. Gave her the recipe too. She is going to get her son, who has learning difficulties, to help make it7 -
Thrifty~~Grateful for seeing DH, hearing that he's improving slightly, good friends & solid ground.

Loving the sounds of your January trip @Toni'sfriend, something to look forward to like that always lifts the spirits! I can understand how Mr Toni is feeling, with my DH being ill. I think the hardest thing is seeing those you love going through all this, & not bring able to do anything to help them, apart from give support. If only there was a magic wand that could cure all illnesses...
@DawnW I've never tried loganberries, do they taste like raspberries?
Since my morning post, I have transplanted nasturtiums & half the tomatoes. My neighbour came to advise me about the tomatoes, was only in the greenhouse 10mins, & fainted! Luckily I'd jumped off the trestle I was standing on & dashed round the potting bench to catch her before she hit the ground too hard. Phoned DS1 to get her husband to come over. He brought the car & we got her transferred into the house to lie down. Gave us all a fright! Heard she was doing a bit better later in the afternoon.
Cooked a roast dinner, got DS3 to pot on some aubergines, & I did the courgettes. Washed the dishes & finished making a photo book online, for my pupil going up into secondary. Had a nice soak in the bath.
Grateful for my neighbour being ok, achieving in the greenhouse, the photo book being finished, so it can arrive in plenty of time before the 28th 🤞Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

My ys rescue tomato plants (I only have two) have flowers on!! it is very jolly exciting in my book. Will give them a seaweed feed this week to say thank you. Half my pots and planters are back up against the shiny white wall, and then I stuck up an inherited roll of green plastic trellis
for the solanum and passionflowers to climb all over. I swear they have grown since I put them up on Saturday, now they have a climbing frame to play on. Soon I will not be able to see the trellis, but it is ugly right now. I am feeling very happy with myself though. Rain is forecast today or I would be outside finishing off. I have my list for tomorrow (dry day)
It was my birthday this weekend (next year is 5-0) and I now have some ys strawberry plants, and some more rescue flowering plants wot are good for bees from the DS's. and Richard Osman's 3rd book so they can give me the 4th (is it too soon for the C-word?).
In other news...... my house is a total mess, DS4 went off on the coach to Devon with school this morning, DS2 is in Chemistry A Level exam this afternoon, and, I finally ate an inheritance frog that kept reappearing. Hopefully it will not come back again.Happy Shiny New Week Day!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Loganberries look like raspberries @Thrifty_Taylor but taste a good deal more sour. They are ok-ish to eat raw if they are really ripe, but better made into jam, or pies or crumbles with apple or other fruits, as you would use blackberries really. They are some sort of a cross between blackberries and raspberries I think.Just phoned for a long overdue blood test (I have a blood condition) and was amazed to be given an appointment for tomorrow. I was expecting to wait several weeks, as it is hardly an emergency. In other news, we have more rain forecast for tonight, so no watering needed againI spent the morning using up fruit and fridge stuff from last week's shop. I made 2 Mary Berry banana and chocolate cakes (now in the freezer), a load of scones - because strawberry jam - and 2 large savoury tarts to use up some puff pastry that I bought for a specific recipe I didn't make. I spread the rolled out pastry with pesto from the freezer, then topped with ratatouille also from the freezer, some olives, basil leaves and some feta stuffed chilli things which were lurking in the fridge as we didn't really like them, then sprinkled with leftover grated cheddar and some shaved parmesan. Also made a rice pudding to finish up last week's cream. Not much cooking needed for the rest of this week. It is shopping day tomorrow, hence the use ups. I should only need a few things.6

Belated happy birthday @f0xh0les!
Woke this morning feeling blah. Blaming the lack of sleep from hay fever and heat.
Feeling a bit brighter this afternoon after OH made me eat a doughnut and have a strong coffee. Who am I kidding?!
Sold another item on V!ntd last night that I posted today, and received £30 in our bank account from a Tcashback payout. Transferred it straight into our holiday savings.
Feeling a bit more financially secure again after energy company lowered monthly bill by £50, and I got a 5% cost of living increase on wages.
Had my oncology appointment this morning and all is well. Oncologist suggested I look for some advice on dealing with my memory loss (a consequence of my brain tumour surgery/treatment from a few years ago). I'm sure there are a few charities in the UK that deal with memory loss so will take a look.
Rid the garden of a couple of dead plants this afternoon. Looking at them really annoyed me so it was time for them to go into the garden bin. I'm a terrible plant parent... I can't keep them alive.
Hope you've all had some positives in your day, turtles. xxx
