The PAD is just paid out of my main account, I do budget for the £5 a day so it just goes to my Sabbatical fund. I’m lucky to have a good salary, so now my debt is gone it just gets saved.[Deleted User] said:I know you have explained before but I still don't understand where the money for PADs comes from lol! Once again is the sealed pot something physical? What are you planning on doing with that money? Sorry to ask again but it puzzles me .The sealed pot will be used for Christmas, my husband’s and stepdaughter’s birthdays and our January holiday. It also covers my Black Friday shopping weekend away. Any left over will go to savings or sinking funds until needed.Life gets in the way...PADding is addictive...Saving's better than spending...My savings diary - Now for a healthier, wealthier me2025 1p challenge #41 | Cash envelope challenge #01 | SPC #017EF £1000/£1000 | Sabbatical £3677/£60001 -
Happy Friday! We made it to the end of the week
It's a no spend day for me today, as I have no plans. It will be a relaxing evening with wine and a face mask whilst husband is working nights.
Today's PAD was £5 to the sabbatical and £10 to the travel binder, working on future trips now that the big holiday is fully funded. We ended up booking the canaries in January so I now have 3 holidays coming up
I'm looking forward to the weekend, although I have the task of clearing some of my clothes from my wardrobe. I have far too many! Will see how that goes...
Hope you all have fab weekends

Good morning, I hope you're all OK and had a fab weekend? I actually had a no spend weekend which is a rarity, the only thing I bought was fuel for the car and that's classed as an essential so doesn't count.
Today I have stuffed 3 cash envelopes for the challenge and added £104 to the sealed pot as well as my £5 to the sabbatical. These are my last 3 to fill and now that challenge is complete. I saved £1378 doing that so a big contribution to my sealed pot this year!
It will also be another NSD for me today as we have no plans. In truth, we are both feeling very under the weather and full of cold. I do have commitments tomorrow but I can't see it being a particularly social or spendy week ahead. Especially as we have to start thinking about packing for holiday by the end of the week.
That's all from me today, not much going on but I am pleased to have completed another challenge which contributes to my sealed pot.

So you actually stuff cash into real envelopes? I know I am confused again. lol! I know you like the challenges but wouldn't it be simpler to put all savings into a decent interest accounts and then have virtual pots?1

Apologies, yes I do this 'virtually' in the bank not physically.[Deleted User] said:So you actually stuff cash into real envelopes? I know I am confused again. lol! Apologies for being AWOL, I've not been very well...the lurgy has descended upon casa LMD so we have a week to shift it and get better before holiday.
Today is a NSD for me, not been anywhere and I've actually slept for most of the day. I did do my dice rolls for the remainder of September though and it certainly stung! £296 sent to the sealed pot from three weeks of dice roll challenge.
I think there's only 6 weeks now until we open the sealed pot and do our declarations. I am glad I've used additional challenges to boost the total
Off to find a lemsip now

Oh no 😞 Not what you need so close to your holiday. I hope you both feel better very soon. I remember one year going on holiday with flu, I felt absolutely dreadful on the plane, just wanted my own bed, but it cleared up a treat once I’d been in the sun for a couple of days.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Morning all
Just a quick update from me before I head back to bed... it's another NSD for me (no surprise) and I've added £5 to the sabbatical fund as my PAD.
