  • Better day today in terms of weather but definitely not for me.

I have damaged my rotator cuff at the gym and it's immensely painful. I hardly slept last night so I have given my boss fair warning that I may not be firing on all cylinders today.  Thank goodness it's Friday though!  Just cardio and leg training for me for the next few weeks until it's healed.

Money wise, things have started off well this pay period, I only spent £10 last week so the remaining has been sent to savings and sinking funds. It's a NSD for me again today so that's 2 for 2 in August so far.

That's my update, I'll catch you next week!
I hope you have lovely weekends :)

Hope your injury heals quickly. You could do with a good sports massage therapist

It always seems unfair to me when someone picks up an injury trying to be healthy. Be patient while it heals and don’t overdo it.
Hardly any rain here but some massive downpours in other parts.

  • Thanks @Antomac, it's starting to be less painful now but I know I can't train it yet as it will just get bad again.

Hope everyone has had a good weekend? I'm currently away staying with family until tomorrow for birthday celebrations. Not going to be a NSD but I did manage one on Saturday.

My PAD included £29 to the envelope challenge and £5 to the sabbatical as usual.
Just a quick update today as I have a busy day ahead.

  • Hi all, apologies for being AWOL yesterday, I spent the day with my sister and once we get chatting time just flies!

It's been very spendy the last few days, however today will be a NSD for me as I'm busy with work and I have lots of housework to do later.

It's dice rolls day today and they were kind so £44 sent to the sealed pot and £5 as usual to the sabbatical. All savings are still growing nicely and I think the sealed pot will hit £5k this year which is amazing!   We have been talking about booking a January winter-sun trip to the canaries so unless anything comes left-field I think that will be funded with the sealed pot money.

That's all for my updates today, I hope everyone is OK?  The country seems to be a bit bonkers at the moment (understatement I know, but there's a reminder not to post political stuff) - I'm at a loss for words if I'm honest so it's probably for the best.

Take care of yourselves and be kind

A winter sun trip is always worth booking. Set you up for the rest of the winter and boosts your immune system.

  • Morning all, I'm late again today as I was busy before work getting some laundry on the washing line. 2 loads done already as I was awake very early.... and I managed to discover the elusive bottom of the laundry basket :D

Today's news has left me feeling a bit more optimistic and has restored a little of my faith in society.

It's a NSD for me, I'm going to have a pamper session this evening with a face mask and probably a glass of wine as DH is working night shifts this week. After the busy weekend last weekend I probably need some downtime anyway.

Today's PAD included £5 to the sabbatical fund as usual, there's spare budget left to allocate to savings tomorrow so I will sort that in the morning.

That's all from me folks, I am off to make a brew and get back to work

We always used to go to the Canaries as close as possible to 1 January. It’s a great time to go when everyone is feeling flat after Christmas.

    Pamper session sounds fabulous.
