Now for a healthier, wealthier me

Just read my post back and realised it's a post moaning about my family - honestly I love them dearly!

I 100pc hear you and relate to what you say LMD. I love my family dearly too, but have similar experiences. Our kid is definitely a spender. When she had some money behind her, including her matured Child Trust Fund, I suggested she invested some money in Premium Bonds. I tried to explain it would give her the outside chance of a huge win as well as keeping it out of the way of immediate spending temptation. After much back and forth she invested £25 in ONE Premium Bonds. She said she did that as she could tell that I was getting cross but she didn’t really understand what I was talking about.
Similarly Mrs Mac is a spender rather than a saver and it’s a constant battle to talk her into staying within our limits.
Not a moan about them, more an observation 😉 I recognise that we all bring different gifts to life and they have so many other good qualities that I don’t have.I crave the security and freedom of income exceeding expenditure.

Thanks AntoMac, I am pleased it's not just me 😃
I am late today, sorry. I didn't want to get up and then I spent too long faffing that I didn't have any time before work. I'm so glad it's Friday, we are out to visit some friends tonight for a catch up and a glass of wine, it's a NSD for me as we are taking a bottle of wine from our fridge.I have a long weekend as I am off on Monday, no plans but I have annual leave to use up so I thought I would take advantage.
The PAD today was just £5 to the sabbatical. Nothing else going on at the moment. I'm itching to open the sealed pot and start counting the money. I'm excited to know if the track I've kept has been accurate (probably not - menopause!) and whether I have any extra in there. I do need to pick up some money bags for the coins from the bank or post office at some point over the next week or so.
That's all from me.
Have fab weekends!

I have had and always will have a little pot of savings which is “my savings”, it was my MIL who put me onto it and surprised me that she had one, as she said to me “u never know whats around the corner and should always be prepared, just in case”. Me and DH have savings and if he has his own little pot that’s fine by me. I do like to squirrel away oddments which soon add up.

I agree, you absolutely never know what might happen.
Happy Tuesday! I'm only working 2 days this week as we are away for a long weekend from Thursday. I have a busy and spendy week ahead as I am out tonight and tomorrow night… I have also made the most of my spending day today by ordering some Christmas presents.
My PAD today was just £5 to the sabbatical. I'm heading for a spendy weekend away so not much else going on in the accounts and I've had a good long run of no spend days to make up for this week ahead.
Not sure what the signal will be like when we are away as we are heading to the middle of the peak district, and I won't have my laptop so I will probably not be updating whilst I am away. Will be nice to have some downtime and offline time though, the weather isn't forecast to be brilliant but we are planning on taking some board games and our books as a back up.
That's it from me, I'm off to work.

Good morning, I've been stung by the dice rolls this morning and £140 has been sent to my £10k fund. At least it's being saved!
It's not a NSD today (and probably won't be until next Monday with us going away) as I am out again tonight - again. It wasn't a late night last night but I had a great time.
Somehow, between working and going out later I need to pack for the weekend away… work is insanely busy at the moment and I am looking forward to the weekend and being able to properly switch off from it. I was awake in the night worrying about work last night so a break is definitely needed.
That's all from me guys, I will be back with an update next week, so have fab weekends!
