Hi everyone, this isn't turning out to be a great month spending-wise as we have had some unexpected costs to deal with, including a new kitchen appliance and car repairs. Work is extremely stressful at the moment as we are in the middle of a 'transitional' period and everyone is vying to prove they're the most excellent at their job in case of up-coming restructuring. My head is not in a great place to say the least.

I am still auto-PADding to the sabbatical but any spare budget as been used to plug what we have had to spend, especially with an upcoming holiday looming and another to pay for 3 weeks after I get back.

I do hope everyone is keeping well and has stayed safe, it's not been pleasant weather during the heatwaves and the wildfires are very scary.

I will try to get back to posting daily, I need to get my head back in the game.

Sometimes RL gets in the way and you need a break from the boards. Just keep going and hopefully soon you will be ready to come back to regularly posting. Take care.

    Good point @amber03

Even if you are limited by when you can post, your good habits are now a way of life. Look how that sabbatical has built up through many a fiver. That’s a great cushion to have

Thanks both, I do appreciate that. RL has got in the way but there’s also an element of not having much to share. The fiver gets automatically assigned to the sabbatical fund each day, I don’t even think about it anymore and as I work from home, aside from the few nights or days out they’re no spend…

I am out tonight so it’s not a no spend and I’ve joined another team who play on Wednesday so I’ll be out tomorrow night too.

I haven’t been sleeping well, I have recently started laser treatment to remove a tattoo I don’t like and it’s quite tender, it’s disrupting my sleep. Hopefully it won’t take too many sessions to get rid of but we will have to see.

I will definitely try to post more often, even if it’s not financially positive

  • Hi everyone, I’m late today but it’s been a busy morning. I’m off out tonight so no chance of a NSD here.

I rolled the dice this morning and £124 has been added to my £10k fund, along with the usual £5 to the sabbatical fund.

I have no plans for the rest of the week now, so hopefully tonight will be the last of my spending this week. It’s still 8 days to pay day (I’m counting! Haha)

Nothing else happening here, hope you’re all ok

Well, I was out last night and I wasn't driving so I had a few beers and now I am wishing I hadn't had that many. Good night though and very sociable, but a late one and I'm very achey and tired today. Glad I have no plans now until next Tuesday.

It's a NSD for me, and £5 was sent to the sabbatical fund this morning.
Off to make another coffee now to keep me awake!

Love it when I don’t have any plans, sadly that doesn’t happen often as there’s always someone trying to get hold of me. 5 days till my payday, glad when it comes as been having gk’ds over the hols and all those treats have added up.

  • Things are definitely getting more expensive, I am planning for DSD birthday and a day out shopping has turned into a weekend away… not sure how that happened!

Today's a NSD for me again, I have a stacked day at work and then an early night as I'm going to spend the weekend getting up to date on housework and chores. So rock and roll.

£5 has been sent to the sabbatical as usual. Nothing else happening finance-wise.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

  • Good morning and happy Monday! I'm off today and had no reason to get out of bed so I didn't…for a while at least. Just a chilled out day on the cards today, some chores and a few chapters of my book.

It's a NSD today, no plans until tomorrow. I have also sent £5 to the sabbatical as usual, it's been a tight month this month with all the real life stuff going on so not had spare to put in the sealed pot since I finished the envelope challenge. It's at a healthy amount though considering there are still 2 months to go and I'm no longer putting the dice roll money into there.

It was a nice no-spend weekend too, with lots of family time so that was a bonus. Bad news was that we had a closer inspection of the remaining original decking (we have already replaced a section) and it may not last until the spring, but I am hoping it will. If not, we need to get it sorted to avoid injury so the savings may need to take a hit.

We will see what happens there anyway.
    Hope you're all OK

Good morning! I'm back into the realms of spending today as I am off out tonight, but a long day at work first and it's still very busy, which whilst stressful will also make the day pass more quickly so it's not all bad.

It's 2 days to pay day and things are tight in the accounts, I've PADded the usual £5 to the sabbatical and that's it really. I have my cash budget for the week intact for tonights so that's OK and we have the final dice roll of the month tomorrow so then anything left on Thursday can be used to top up the sinking funds.

It's been a bit of an eye opener this month with the extras we have had to pay for, and I am thankful I have savings to fall back on if anything else goes awry!

Anyway, that's it from me today… heading back to work
