Just catching up on everyone's diaries. Sorry to hear you weren't feeling well, but glad that you're making progress with getting better although it's been dragging on.

In terms of your envelope challenge, lots of people don't physically put the money in envelopes, but they track it and colour in the envelope icons on their saving challenge sheet. So moving the money into an account that earns interest isn't 'against the rules', as you can save it however you want really. It is fun to open all the envelopes and count it all up, but if you don't have a home safe that you can securely store such large sums of cash in, then, there's no harm in moving it out of the house. The interest is an added bonus.

I like saving in cash, but find moving money around electronically much easier. I'll be banking the money from my £2 challenge soon as I've got nearly £200 and I don't want it hanging around my flat, and there hasn't been break-ins around here, so I understand why you want to bank yours.

  • Hi Keedie, welcome back from holiday! I hope you had an amazing time :)

I think you may be right about putting it in the bank, even for my sanity that I know it's safe never mind the interest.  We are lucky to live in a nice estate but it seems to be a bit of a target.

Today will be another NSD for me, I'm venturing out tomorrow to meet a friend for coffee but today is a very busy day at work so there's no time for spending and I don't need anything now my make up has been ordered. I've added £3 to the EF as my PAD and whilst nothing is available on Prolific at the moment, I have a follow up survey waiting that I need to do when I get 30 mins spare (possibly lunch time) and £12 is still pending. I think I'm also due a bonus on one of the pending too... watch this space.

I hope you all have a fabulous Friday

  • Did a good survey this morning which has already been paid out so I've cashed out £17.90 and popped that in the sealed pot.  This tips it over £2.5k mark... need to update the signature more frequently!

That was a good cash out. I'm finding them a bit hit & miss at the moment, some days brilliant and others nothing at all. Still it all adds up over the month, that's the main thing.  Sealed pot is doing well, I might try and start that challenge next year, although if you do too many challenges, you actually don't have enough money to do all of them.....lol

  • The sealed pot for me is just about having some savings that I'm not allowed to dip into. Plus it opens for the run up to Christmas and an expensive time of year for me with holiday and black friday trip away.

I've not much to report from the weekend, I managed one NSD but spent yesterday on some new bedding and I'm going out tonight so it's not one today either.

Yesterday I added £200 to my savings which I worked out was 'spare' from my wages. I will use this towards the August holiday spending, it's just a self catering stay so we will need more spending money than usual.

Prolific still shows just under £15 pending and I think I have an additional £5ish in bonus for one of the studies, so will be nice when I can cash that out.  Other than that, all is quiet on the count down to pay day on Thursday.

    Hope you're all well

I have the same issue with not wanting to do too many challenges @Makingabobor2
Whta I like about the PAD thread is that you can pot as much or as little as you want as you don’t necessarily have to set a specific target.
Likewise, with the Sealed Pot Challenge I use it in a similar way to @LittleMissDetermined
I can save towards a forthcoming expensive event, in my case a nice trip away, and can pot as and when it suits. You can join the Sealed Pot Challenge any time by the way.
One challengeI did take on with a specific target was the 365 day penny challenge. Luckily for me I broke the back of it early on by getting all the big payments out of the way.
We’re all different in our saving habits of course, which is what keeps this place interesting

  • Quite right Antomac, I think the general spirit of the saving challenges on the forum is that you save what and when you can. Always a good thing, especially during these economic times.

Not much by way of an update for me, Prolific has been quiet for me over the past few days and there's still almost £15 pending, plus bonus.

Today's PAD is £3 to the EF and then £12.20 to the sealed pot. It will be a NSD for me today, we are just a few days to pay day now but then I am away for the weekend so trying to reserve funds for that.

I hope everyone is well :)

Yes that's true @AntoMac, I did start the PAD challenge but seemed to have dropped by the wayside. I should start it up again.

  • Hello everyone, it's my last working day of the week which is nice... the only dampener is the weather forecast!  Pay day tomorrow and a NSD ahead for me. Will just be packing a bag tonight after dinner and an early night as hubby says we are setting off to Wales at 5:30am!

My PAD today was £11.27 which was £3 to the EF as standard and then £8.27 cash out from Prolific. I still have £13 pending as I did a couple of surveys this morning before breakfast!  That has been sent over to the sealed pot.

Hope everyone has a great day
