Sorry to hear you are having a rough time at the moment. Glad to hear you enjoyed your meal.

  • Thank you everyone, the pain is subsiding slowly but it will take a while to fully go. I am not able to drive so I've not been anywhere this week which means cabin fever is starting to take hold. I had thought about crutching on the bus to town tomorrow to get out of the house but it looks like it's due to snow so I've abandoned that plan.

I've still been PADding and the dice rolls this morning saw £118 (!) sent to my £10k fund. Doesn't really make up for the cost of the meal does it?… but it felt a bit ouchy when I rolled 70 on the percentile dice.

It's been a NS week so far, and I have no plans until Sunday which is in the next budget week so Friday should see a bonus envelope stuffed and some money being sent to the sinking funds.

March is set to be another spendy month with 4 significant birthdays and 2 mini-breaks booked so I am not confident my overall savings will increase at all over the next few months. It is a sufficient cushion however so I am OK with that.

    Catch you all later

  • Happy Friday! We made it through another week 😁 I am very ready for the weekend, and looking forward to seeing my friend on Sunday for a catch up and a few glasses of vino. I'm also counting down to pay day now, 1 week to go. It's a NSD for me today, no plans tomorrow either.

I didn't spend anything since Saturday so I have filled 2 extra envelopes for the challenge with my left over budget of £50 (23 and 24) plus the £3 extra went into the sealed pot. The £5 sabbatical payment was made as usual too.

I am still on book 13, I keep getting engrossed in my language lessons and then time slips away or I need to do something else like cook dinner or clean up. At least learning another language is good for my mind and I'm not just doom-scrolling…or even worse - online shopping! 😂

On that note, I will enlighten you with my purchase of the year so far (apart from the language lesson app); it's a bird nesting box with a built in camera and microphone. I bought it with my Christmas money a few weeks back and we have a very interested Great Tit who keeps popping in almost daily, some days twice. I hope he finds it suitable and make his home there - I would be over the moon!

Anyway, that's me for today. I'm still getting fewer pain issues each day so I would say I am on the mend. Might get back to the gym in a few days

The bird nesting box sounds like a great spending choice LMD. You could get a whole load of joy from that. As for the language, I would guess that your language of choice would be Spanish based on your holiday destinations? I love speaking French and German when I can. Languages are so interesting. I miss knowing someone French to practice my French with. Luckily I work with a German so I get the chance for a bit of back and forth from time to time.

I did read recently that due to this winter being milder than usual birds are already looking for nests. This is a few weeks earlier than normal. Something I will look into a bird box with camera.

  • I think I will surprise you when I say I am actually learning Italian(o) Ant! I am thoroughly enjoying it too… I am going to Italy later this year and whilst you are correct in that I usually go to the Spanish (Spagnolo) speaking islands for my holidays I am used to some of the words and phrases. I've never been to Italy before so I though it would give me a basic understanding for my holiday.

The bird box is really good and should the interested bird decide to build I will be over the moon!

  • Good morning and welcome to Monday! The weather looks promising here today and I even have the office window open, I can hear the birds which is lovely ☺️

Today is a NSD for me, I ended up having quite a spendy weekend meeting up with friends so I am getting over that today and my wallet is having a rest… I did get a cashback payout this morning which has been sent to my sinking funds though, not to be sniffed at either, it was £110!

My PAD included this and the usual £5 to the sabbatical, which will hit £4.5k tomorrow - blimey! That's 50% of what I want to save in that pot so I'm doing OK with my small but mighty £5 daily PADs.

I'm counting down to pay day on Friday, March is a hugely busy month money wise, with 3 significant birthdays and 2 weekends away. Not much will be saved next month and I will also be using some of the travel pot money so my overall savings will go down.

That's it from me today, I hope you have great days!

  • Morning all, I forgot to update yesterday as I was on my day off and whilst I did have the intention of updating, there wasn't really much to tell and I forgot to come back and do it.

I was out last night but didn't spend very much. It's a NSD for me today though and I finally get paid on Friday - whoop!

Today's PAD included the £5 as usual to the sabbatical and £59 in lovely dice rolls to my £10k fund.

Book number 14 is now complete and I started book 15 yesterday, I will see how I get on with that.

There's been a bit of a shift in the home dynamics and I can't quite put my finger on it but something needs to change, if I go AWOL again it's because my brain power and mental and emotional efforts are needed there.

That's all from me, think my little bird decided he wanted to live elsewhere, he's not been back for days…

  • Morning guys, I hope you're all doing well? I didn't sleep well at all last night and when I was managing to get some sleep I was having bad dreams. Therefore I am knackered today.

It's a NSD for me, I have no plans. Tomorrow I have a nail appointment but it's also pay day so I will be in a good mood regardless of the amount of sleep I get.

Today's PAD was £48 to the sealed pot as part of the envelope challenge and then the usual £5 to the sabbatical fund.

In a heartwarming turn around, the bird came back for another visit yesterday and stayed long enough that I could capture a small video recording on the app… he seemed confident and it gave me a glimmer of hope he may nest after all. ☺️

That's all from me today, have lovely Thursdays!
