Oh no LMD I was wondering where you were, especially as you hadn’t even PADded which is pretty much unheard of.
Not much I can really say or do to help BUT please remember a lot of us (self very much included here) tend to catastrophise somewhat and see the worst outcome in announcements like this. IF it comes to redundancy presumably you would get some sort of payoff? You are also much better prepared for it, if it does even happen, thanks to the big turnaround in your spending and saving habits.Unsettling times of course. Thoughts with you. You’ve been through a lot over recent months but I’m sure there are many blessings you can count, not least DH coming back from his health scare.
Can’t give you any sleep tips unfortunately as my sleep is generally terrible, and I often have a couple of wide awake hours around 2am.
Anyone else in your company in a similar position to you? It can help to talk with someone going through similar.

Thanks Ant, yes there would be statutory redundancy but as that's capped it wouldn't last very long unfortunately. There are others in the same position, however their role isn't niche so that's why I'm panicking more than they are, plus I am a natural worrier as I have said before. I will just have to see what happens, I will keep an eye on the internal jobs boards to see if I can transfer but reluctant to jump ship before I need to.
Today's PAD is £5 to the sabbatical - Ironically the pot where I was squirrelling to get 3 months of pay in case of redundancy! I was supposed to be out tonight but lack of sleep, physical pain and a stonking cold means I'm not going. I just need to rest and try to get an early night. It does mean it's an unexpected NSD though so that's good.
The book reading is going well and I am now on book 24 which I started last night, I'm thankful I found my love of reading again.
Not much else to report. I need to make another payment on one of the holidays tomorrow, so I mustn't forget to do that. Also, I have to sort out DSD's student finance application details as the email for that came through last night.
That's all from me.

Good morning and happy 'April fool's day… After the fortnight I have had I am keeping my head down this morning!
I have no plans today, I'm still in pain so I'm not venturing out and dinner this evening is a batch cooked meal, although we are running low on stocks so I will need to plan a weekend of cooking to re-fill the freezer. It's Chilli tonight 😋
As I have no plans, it's a NSD for me. My PAD included the mortgage so was inflated, but it also included £335 in dice rolls and £5 to the sabbatical. I forgot to include the holiday payment I need to make later so I will have to pop back and declare that once done, I'm not including this as a spend, as the 'spending' part of the holiday was done a long time ago, and it's coming from the travel funds.
I am still lacking a decent night's sleep, I think I was awake every hour last night with the pain. I need to have some blood tests but I can't have them during a flare-up so I have to wait it out. I'm off after today until Tuesday though so I have a good few days where napping will be permitted 😂
All is quiet on the job front at the moment, I feel it will be a long drawn out process but I can't do anything to change it so I will just have to wait for more detail.
Book 24 will probably be finished this evening - that's what happens when you can't sleep haha
Have great days,

Good morning, I hope you all had a nice bank holiday weekend? I've had a lovely 5 days off and now I'm back to work with a bump.
I had a few NSDs over the weekend and it's another one for me today. I've also been PADding, today's offering is just £5 to the sabbatical fund, will do the dice rolls tomorrow as usual.
Currently on book 26 but that will be finished today as I only have about 50 pages left so will probably get that done at lunchtime. No plans this week, I'm still in a lot of pain and struggling to get about. I also have a monstrous cough and cold - but apparently there's a lot of bugs going around at the moment.
That's it really from me. It's just boring business as usual in the house of Determined.
Hope you're all well

Good morning and happy Wednesday. It's my day off work today and I had a nice lie-in and I'm only just contemplating the day ahead… hubby has suggested we pop into town as there are a few things he needs from the market and he also said we should grab some lunch out whilst we are there.
I have done my dice rolls already though, £126 has been rolled into my 10k fund. It will take a while to complete, especially if the job situation becomes bad, but this time as the dice rolls aren't linked to the sealed pot I can do them beyond October and until they're done… hopefully.
I also made the usual £5 payment to the sabbatical.
My 26th book was indeed completed yesterday and I have started another already. I'm 1/3 of the way through and I'll be honest - it's not the type I usually read but it's sold a million copies so I thought I would give it a go. I am fairly stubborn so I will definitely read the whole book…but not enjoying it as I would normally 😂
That's all from me

Hi all, yesterday turned into quite a spendy day in the end, and I have arranged to go put tonight to meet a local social group as i have decided I need to make some more friends. I found the group on Facebook and it seems to be good for local walks (when I am fully mobile again) and crafting sessions, get togethers for coffee/drinks etc so I am looking forward to that. I have money in my 'social' sinking fund which I will use, although it could be argued I could also use my self-care pot too.
Finance-wise, I have sent £5 to the sabbatical today and also stuffed the 45 envelope which forms part of my sealed pot.
Still on book 26 although I will try more today to get some read. The sooner I switch back to regular reading material the better in my opinion 😂
That's it from me, have great days

I had a lovely time and there were many people who were going for the first time too so I didn't feel left out or awkward. I will definitely aim to get to more events when I can.
It's a no spend day for me today though, I am not going out anywhere, no solid plans for the weekend yet either so could be a couple more there yet. My PAD was just £5 to the sabbatical as usual.
I am still persevering with this book… I will make a determined effort this evening as there's usually nothing on telly on a Friday night and hubby has a new PC game he's on with.
I hope you're all OK and have lovely Friday's

Good morning all, I had a long weekend off work and therefore I have been offline for a few days. Sorry for the lack of updates.
I had a long and busy weekend, Sunday and Monday were rather busy and I have used some sinking funds for clothes, dinner out and I also treated myself to a new video game. I don't buy them often (which is a good job at £60!) and I only play a few on rotation so I don't feel so bad about that really.
I've been PADding, but not posting, just to the sabbatical fund which is the automatic payment. There will also have been some round ups sent to the sealed pot from my spending but I never declare those really.
I finally managed to finish that book and I have read another over the weekend and then started on book 29 yesterday. Reading material is back to normal for the time being thank goodness.
I don't know if there's anything else to report on at the moment. I'm counting down to my next holiday which is in May so it's not long now. I have most of what I need for packing, just sun cream and toiletries to get really, so that's not too bad.
Hope you all had nice weekends?
