Late update today as I was out late last night and then I had some things to get sorted this morning before work.

It's Wednesday so I've rolled the dice. Feels like a bit of a reprieve today as the total was 22! Anyway, that has been sent to my £10k fund and then £5 has been sent to the sabbatical.

It's a NSD for me today and should be for the remainder of the week as I have no plans until Saturday. As I was out last night, no more book was read but I will remedy that this evening :)

Normal service resumes today and I am gearing up for another NSD, work is very busy and I have no inclination to spend after last weekend.

I've added £9 to the envelope challenge and the usual £5 to the sabbatical which continues to grow steadily. It's been a 'cheap' week for me in terms of savings challenges, but not so much in terms of my budget.

I will pick up my toiletry bits for holiday on Saturday, as I have an event to go to so I will be spending anyway. Makes sense to me 😉

Book 29 is done and dusted. I am now on to book 30 - yay!

Not much else to update you all on. Have terrific Thursdays!

    Good morning all!

I've a very busy day at work today, especially as I was off on Friday. I have had a really busy weekend and didn't even get all the things I wanted to do, done.

Anyway. Today is a NSD for me and I have sent £5 to the sabbatical as my PAD. I still have a week to go before payday next Monday and I am already counting down.

The bird didn't come back and nest in my little box, but I do have a pair of robins which have started to feed from our perspex window feeder which we put on our kitchen french doors. It's so lovely to see :)

Not had much time for reading over the weekend so I'm still on book 30. We will see how that goes later today…

    Hope you're all OK

My reading is going well this year, most books from the library. The one Im currently reading has just come out, so I know after the initial 4 weeks I probably won’t be able to renew it, so better make sure I finish it in time. It is a thick book, but easy to read thank goodness.

Glad you're enjoying the reading too @amber03, it's certainly helping my mental health. I have now finished book 30 and have made a small start on 31.

Not much to report today, I'm out tonight so it's not a NSD for me. I've made my £5 PAD to the sabbatical as usual… the dice will roll tomorrow though for a boost to my £10k fund.

I've been looking for some new recipes to try out which are fairly quick and simple, but made from scratch and are healthy. Over the past 3-4 months we have been trying to avoid overly processed food as much as possible. If anyone has any suggestions let me know. This week I am trying a salmon pasta bake recipe I found on Facebook. Looks nice enough and you throw everything into one pot so I'm hopeful it will be easy to do. It's on the menu for Friday so I will try and remember to report back.

That's all from me folks, have great days

I’m not a cooking expert unfortunately LMD. I don’t eat meat but I do make a nice quorn chilli.

My cousin spent a long time in Morocco and made us a lovely tagine on his return. He did a meat one and a veggie one. Really nice and not too difficult to make. You don’t have to have the proper pot to make it.

Thanks Ant, DH does like Moroccan flavours so that's something to consider, given the price of meat these days I think we need to start having more meat free meals. This evening I am doing garlic and mozarella stuffed chicken breasts, wrapped in proscuitto with veg and jacket potato.

Today will be a NSD for me, I've nowhere to be and there's nothing I need. I've made my PAD which was £5 to the sabbatical and then £102 in dice rolls to the £10k fund. This is now 18% funded and is definitely a marathon of a savings challenge and isn't going to be completed any time soon.

It was a late night for me last night and I didn't sleep well at all so I am pooped today, I think it will be an early night for me this evening. Not before I've watched Great British Menu though 😂 Can you tell I'm a foodie?

That's it from me, as I was out last night there was no real progress on my latest book, I'll see how I get on today

    Have lovely Wednesdays

Had some cashback arrive in my account today, so that's £50 I've added to my general savings :)

Morning and happy Thursday 😊 I hope you're all doing well.

It's another NSD for me today, I have no plans for the remainder of my pay period so hoping to get a few more in before the end of the month. I think today is 16th NSD of April.

My PAD today was £5 to the sabbatical fund and £44 to the sealed pot as part of the envelope challenge. I've now virtually 'stuffed' 26 envelopes so I am halfway through the challenge.

I fell asleep early last night so I've still not made much of a start on book 31, no plans for the next few days so hopefully I can get a few chapters under my belt there.

It's pay day on Monday, when I can add more to savings by way of sinking funds, travel savings and my 1p challenge for the month. The pot for my up-coming holiday is fully funded, and we are all-inclusive so I shouldn't actually need that much. It's the other 2 holidays I am more concerned about! 😬

That's it in terms of updates from me. Have lovely days!

Whoop! We made it through another week 🤩 Hope you're all doing OK. I'm looking forward to a weekend with no/minimal plans. DSD has a friend coming to stay this weekend so aside from the occasional taxi service I will be having a lot of downtime.

I have checked my pay slip this morning and my pay rise this year has added £100 to my take home. I always find it hard to predict as I don't understand much about PAYE tax and the pension contributions and I have a few perks I pay for so it was a nice surprise. I am a high rate tax earner so it's not easy to work it all out. This month, the £100 will come in handy as the dog chewed something they shouldn't yesterday so I will have to pay £110 to replace that… It's a good job I love him! It wasn't ingested so there's no danger to his little life.

Today is a NSD for me, with just £5 heading to the sabbatical as my PAD. There was just a few £1 coins left from this weeks budget so they went into a money bag which I keep in my handbag for parking, charity box collections and books at the supermarket. Very handy I find…

Not much more to tell you, I haven't been reading as much as I usually do. Things have been getting in the way and I've had a few comments that I am being 'anti-social' from other household members who usually have their noses glued to their phones on an evening - so I'm not paying much attention to that. 😂

It's the trial of the new recipe this evening, so I'm hoping that goes well. Fingers crossed!
