Good morning! I hope everyone had a fabulous bank holiday weekend. I feel very rested and I am now excited about my 3 day week leading up to my holiday - eek!
It's not a NSD for me today as I am out tonight as usual. It'll take me a good few hours to settle on what day it actually is, which is customary for me after a bank hol.
My PAD included £5 to the sabbatical as usual, not much else happening in the accounts. I had to sort the house insurance out over the weekend so that's now done. Don't think DH even thinks about it anymore.
Goodness me cascadle is a bit addictive! Thanks for the recommendation - I've been doing it every day haha
Book 33 will be finished either later today or tomorrow. I need to decide how many to take on holiday. I don't want to be left with nothing to read 😂
That's it from me today, see you tomorrow for the rolling of the dice!

It was a busy day in the end for me finance wise as I sorted the remortgage deal yesterday. It sickened me to have to switch from our lovely 2.49% rate but we can't have it forever unfortunately. As usual it prompted a discussion about over-paying on the mortgage so we can pay less in interest, however there's "less interest" from the DH in these plans and they inevitably fall by the way-side. It's done, anyway, a 3 year fixed and we can re-assess the situation then.
Today has also been busy in terms of finances as I've used my left over budget to fill an extra envelope, and it's been £108 in dice rolls. The £10k saver just needs £7 more to be at £2k so that's given it a boost. I will not be able to roll the dice next week, so I will roll them tomorrow and then move the money next Wednesday - I will still try and PAD whilst I am away and keep on top of things, it depends how the week goes as I've not been away with this friend before so I don't know how much down time there will be. Quad-biking has already been mentioned.
It's a NSD for me today, work is busy as I'm trying to leave a clear 'desk' for going away, I always feel bad asking people to pick up my workload when I know everyone is already busy.
Book 33 got finished and I have made a good start on 34 before bed last night, it has already made me cry and I am only on page 126. Probably a good job I didn't save this for holiday, snivelling pool-side is probably not a good look 🤣
Anyway, I think that's pretty much it from me in terms of updates. Have lovely sunny days 😎

Yes I'm sure your new fix will be somewhat higher than your old deal LMD 😐 I was obsessed with overpaying our mortgage for years and am so pleased to have it gone. Luckily for me Mrs Mac was happy enough to go along with it.
I too feel a bit guilty handing over stuff to colleagues as well when I'm going away but a break is vital and I'm sure you'll returrn the favour when the time comes

Good morning all! I'm happy today as it's my last work day for a while and I will soon be boarding that plane to sunnier climes (hopefully!)
My PAD today included £10 to the envelope challenge and £5 to the sabbatical as usual. It's not a NSD as I have plans to go out and meet some friends for dinner and a glass of wine this evening.
I have already finished book 34 and have started another this morning. The last one was quite heart-wrenching and I sobbed my way through most of it. Like films though, sometimes you stumble across a real tear-jerker. 'Me before you' was one for me.
Anyway, I don't have much to report, I will need to move some money around for holiday later today from my spending pots, clearly my overall savings will be going down this month, and then I have the big final payment due in June for my September holiday. I know I go on holiday a lot, but I really love it. I used to work with a guy who's motto was 'Have money, will travel' and he always springs to mind whenever I book another trip 😂 I've not worked with him for almost 20 years!
Not sure if I will get a chance to update tomorrow, probably not likely given I have lots to do and little time. I hope you're all well and have fab day, weekends and week ahead.
Much love
LMD x
