Happy Friday guys, we made it to the end of the week 🙌
I’ve already been out into town and had my hair cut, so definitely not a NSD for me today. Going to have a cuppa now before I crack on with some of the housework which has taken a back seat over the past few months.PAD today was the usual £5 to the sabbatical and then £35 leftover budget from last week. So that’s been put into my sinking funds.
Have fab days!

Hi all and happy Saturday, not sure where the sun has got to but I’m glad it’s a little cooler today.
Today’s PAD was just £5 to the sabbatical. Nothing else happening in my accounts this morning and we have no plans at all this weekend so it’s a NSD today.
I’m feeling a little overwhelmed at the moment, I knew the hard work would start when DH got home but it’s constant clearing cleaning and tidying as he just has no strength or energy at all. The house is definitely in need of a deep clean too after being neglected so much recently. It’s hard to know where to start sometimes.Better get a move on

My suggestion would be a quick sort and tidy for whole house to get you going. Then decide what to attempt more thoroughly.
For me once I get going I surprise myself by how much I can get done. I find the more I get done the more motivated I am to do more.
Recently, when my relative was in hospital, I had one day at home(off from hospital visiting) to 'sort things'. I managed to dust polish, vacuum and wash floors in all the rooms, clean two bathrooms, tidy front and back gardens including cutting the lawns, washing and ironing and even clean the car! It took 12 hours but wow did I feel great at the end of the day lol. I felt much relaxed and slept well that night!
I even my completed my exercises and some body maintenance lol!
I hope you succeed!1 -
There was certainly plenty of sun here LMD. Our stand at football today was a proper sun trap. The walk up the big hill after the match was a right slog too.For all the extra work it must be lovely to have Mr Determined back at home. Not easy doing a lot of cleaning etc when it’s this hot. Although we had no sun yesterday Ant, I did get some stuff done in the garden, the brambles from the woods had started reaching through the back fence so I trimmed all those back and swept up all the leaves. It looks loads better.
I did put my 'big girl pants' on yesterday and just got on with stuff for a good few hours.... I will do the same today and then tomorrow as it's my day off again. That should make me feel better about itI will also try and set aside some 'me' time as my nail polish is chipped and needs re-doing.
No plans today that involve spending money so it's another NSD for me, and £5 has been sent to the sabbatical as usual for my PAD.
I'm now on book 42I'm smashing this little challenge!

Last night I finished book 42 and this morning I’ve chosen book 43… probably won’t read much til this evening (usually a few pages whilst I grab some lunch) but it’ll get started.
Today won’t be a NSD as DH and I are going to try a potter round a few shops, see how his strength holds.I’ve added £5 to the sabbatical as usual today and I’ve also stuffed my £35 envelope for that challenge, so that gets sent to the sealed pot. The pot is creeping up towards the £7k mark now which is more than last year. We will see how long it lasts for.
We do seem to be coping with our cutting back at the moment and we obviously aren’t going out. It would be good to think we can manage as we are until DH is fit enough to go back to work… but that won’t be any time soon.
Thats all from me. He’s gone back to bed for a bit so I’m going to do some cleaning and laundry 🧺
Have lovely Mondays!

Good morning, welcome to Wednesday
I hope everyone is doing OK? I'm still tired but the house is getting a little better every day. It's taking longer for DH though and he's still really struggling in terms of energy and he's having to rest almost all of the time.
It's a NSD for me today, I'm busy at work (and have been since before 7am) and tonight I am just going to have some down time and a face mask. Maybe a glass or 2 of vino if it takes my fancy.
My PAD was £5 to the sabbatical as usual and then £48 to the sealed pot from my dice challenge. Still not doing the % dice as the funds won't stretch that far at the moment, but when hubby eventually goes back to work we will re-assess.
It's been busy over the past few days so I've not got much further on book 43. One of our local pubs has started advertising the wreath making event I usually go to, but you have to pay when booking and I just can't spare the cash at the moment so I think I will have to give this year a miss. Maybe I can look at sourcing supplies myself closer to Christmas rather than doing it as an organised event.
That's all from me for now

You’re doing so well LMD. Think back to the days when you were way overspending despite having much more household income.
Very sensible holding off from the wreath making course. Maybe there will still be a chance to book in a few months if your finances continue to stabilise. Either way, you’ve made a good decision for now.I’m sure you’re taking it a day at a time and appreciating having DH home. Every day is a gift in some way or another, albeit there are many challenges27/5/17 Mort 64705 BTs 1904031/12/17 Mort 59815 BT 1673007/04/20 Mort 49208 BT 1572128/07/20 Mort 47387 BT 1263414/11/20 Mort 45905 BT 10134 20/05/21 Mort 42335 BT 686811/08/22 Mort 32050 BT 2915Sealed Pot Challenge 16 Number 51 -
Thanks @antomac, I do have moments where I feel like I am floundering, but then remember that I have been in much worse situations financially and didn't even bat an eye at continuing to spend. I had a look at the supplies for making my own at home and it's far cheaper so maybe I will get my friends to come here and make them instead, that can all be arranged at shorter notice.
I have another busy day at work today, I ended up working later last night too... and I'm very muddled with what day it is this week! It's a NSD for me as we have no plans, it's slow cooker chilli on some jacket potatoes for dinner tonight so that's nice and easy in case I have to do some more extra hours.
My PAD today is just the £5 to the sabbatical fund. Nothing else happening in the accounts at the moment which is nice, I'm counting down to pay day next week already!
That's all from me

Hurrah for Friday! And as we head into a bank holiday weekend I hope everyone is doing OK?
Things are slowly improving here with DH health, he's sleeping better at night and then having to rest less in the day which I am taking as progressHe does need some meds sorting at the doctors but they've not got his hospital letter yet so we are stuck in limbo with that.
Finance wise, it's happily quiet... we aren't spending much, if anything. Next week we are going to go and stay with family for a few days for a change of scenery which will be nice, and no accommodation costs so that is a winner!
It's a NSD for me today as we have no plans until Sunday. I have PADded £5 to the sabbatical and I am saving left over budget for us going out on Sunday, it doesn't make sense to move it to sinking funds to then move it back again in 2 days
Book 43 is progressing nicely, I'm about 2/3 of the way through now, 2 episodes of Masterchef interrupted my progression last night haha
Have fab days!
