Thanks, not the answer we were looking for in this weeks results, but they will test again early next week. It's heading in the right direction, just not fast enough!
So, today is another NSD for me, I am out for the day tomorrow so saving for that... I've rolled the dice this morning and added £46 to the sealed pot, and as usual the £5 daily auto-payment has been sent to the sabbatical fund.
I made some good progress on book No39 last night, although I actually fell asleep reading which I've not done in ages so I must have been very tired! Work is really busy at the moment (great timing huh?) and I'm getting to the point where I need to book some time off and have a bit of down time. Although that's not easy when you're driving to and from the hospital lots.
Can't think of any other updates at the moment. I've de-railed a bit on the decluttering as there's not been much time and when I have been removing things I no longer need I haven't been keeping a track so that's not really gone according to plan. I don't think it helped that the decluttering thread moves at a million miles an hour and every time I posted there were hundreds of posts to catch up on, so it was a bit overwhelming really. I'll just carry on when I can at my own pace. Our house isn't overly cluttered, and it's certainly not messy by any stretch but we definitely have more 'things' than we need. Probably same as everyone really. Also I want to set a good example to DSD if I can as she is very easily influenced into buying 'things' lately. Are all young ones 'influenced' as much? I'm glad I didn't have social media when I was a kid...
Anyway, enough of my wittering on!
Thanks, as ever, for all your support

I think what you always need to do what is best and more applicable to yourself. Never be overly influenced or concerned about what others advise or say they are doing in other threads or parts of the forums. Obviously I read what others are saying, but always make my own mind up and do what I consider to be in my best interests.
You can also never being 100% certain that what others are saying is the whole truth.
There are extremes on every internet forum too. Personally I tend avoid those I call the 'hairshirt' brigade who make the so called MSE approach to everything seem like a cult! MSE is not perfect, useful, but not the be all and end all of everything.
So be yourself. You are doing just fine in your current circumstances.Saving To Keep Ahead Of The Game — MoneySavingExpert Forum

Morning all, not much by way of an update today, yesterday I was out for the day and it was quite spendy (I had planned it though) but I do have £50 left over plus a bit of change so that's being put into my sinking funds. Plus I have added £5 as usual to the sabbatical.
I was really tempted yesterday to buy some new books in a book store, but instead I found a couple in a little charity shop for a fraction of the price so I feel that was a bit of a win. I will be popping into town tomorrow for a few bits so I might see if I can pick up a few more. It's good for me and for the charities to do it this way, plus I have half a dozen that I've read which need to be re-donated.
That's it from me, still playing the waiting game with DH so no change there
Have lovely days and weekends ahead

Nowadays I tend to buy quite a few books from charity shops. I also buy quite a number from ebay, which always seems to have the titles I want at a low cost. Newer titles I receive gratefully for Birthday or Christmas presents.
However, if a book came out that I really wanted to read, I will buy it even though it may cost a little more. I do find though that you can get some good deals on newly published books these days.Saving To Keep Ahead Of The Game — MoneySavingExpert Forum

Today won't be no spend for me, but it should be low spend. The PAD was the usual £5 to the sabbatical fund which continues to climb in the background without me really noticing. If things get tight over the coming weeks I may reduce the auto-payment but I don't think I will have to stop it completely. For now we seem to be doing OK with having tightened our belts and being more conscious of what we are buying.
That's all from me, I'm off to town to see if I can find a parking spot.

Only stayed an hour in town today, picked up these 13 books for me, one for hubby and 2 recipe books. Spent £18.50 so I think we did well there!Life gets in the way...PADding is addictive...Saving's better than spending...My savings diary - Now for a healthier, wealthier me2025 1p challenge #41 | Cash envelope challenge #01 | SPC #017Sealed pot 2025 £6573 | EF £1000/£1000 | Sabbatical £3364/£6000 | Travel savings £1508 | Sinking pots £25713
