I regularly read but don't comment much.
I love reading as well LMD. I used to buy books but when we moved 8 years ago and we had 4 book cases full, double shelved, books lying on top and still some with nowhere to live I made it my mission to read and donate/sell them.
I'm now down to about 12 books which I have saved for if I can't get to the library as I now borrow from the local library rather then buy. If you have any car boot sales near you they are an excellent place to get good condition cheap books. Often they are 20p each as people now find them so hard to sell.
Pleased to hear DH's recovery is moving in the right direction. Ĺook after yourself as well.3 -

We are having a few days away at the moment and that’s why I’ve not been updating, but today is pay day so there’s been lots of movement in the accounts. Much has been sent to sinking funds to use later in the month. It’s dice roll day today but I didn’t pack my dice so I’ll have to do that on Friday when I’m back home.
Not NSD’s as we are pottering out and about, but low spends nonetheless.
Hope you’re all doing ok

Hi everyone, we are back home now and I have a lot to catch up on with work so it's going to be a really busy day. It's a NSD though as we don't have plans to go out today
. We had a nice little break and DH seems to be getting stronger each day, even at a slow pace it's encouraging to see.
I've caught up on the dice rolls this morning and sent £47 to the sealed pot, more will be added with the envelope challenge on Monday. I've also been reading and I am now on book 45...
PAD today includes the usual £5 to sabbatical, £37 left over budget to savings and £47 to the sealed pot

Happy Saturday
The sun is shining here for the moment and I am pleased about that as I have arranged to go to a local garden centre with one of my friends. I've noticed that rain is due this afternoon but I will be home by then to watch the F1.
Today won't be a NSD, my PAD this morning was just £5 to the sabbatical fund as usual. Still working on book #45 and I have a huge stack waiting to be read from my charity shop hauls so I reckon I should keep going into 2026
That's all from me, enjoy your Saturday!

Having a NSD today, just pottering round the house and getting some chores done, F1 later followed by a Sunday roast
PAD was £13 to various places. It'll be DD and mortgage day tomorrow though so the accounts will get raided.
Have lovely days

Morning and happy Monday
The weekends go far too quickly and this year seems to be passing by swiftly too. It's already September.
It's a NSD for me today, I have some big events this month so I need to be mindful I will need money for those, including DSD birthday. My PAD was a big one as it included some DD's but it also saw £5 sent to the sabbatical and £34 from my envelope challenge sent to the sealed pot.
I was busy yesterday so I forgot about posting my totals... so here goes:
Sealed pot £6991.17
Emergency Fund. £1006.10
Sabbatical £3530.29
Travel fund £1828.62
Sinking pots £2827.40
Total. £16183.58
So the total saved is still increasing at the moment, but I think that's largely to do with cutting right back on everything we are spending on and not being able to 'go out' as we used to. The dice rolls on Weds should see my sealed pot tip the £7k mark (unless I roll all 1's!)
Still working on book 45, it's one with lots of pages and tiny writing so it's taking a bit longer than usual
That's all from me, I hope you're all doing ok
