  • Good morning and happy Thursday! I feel like I have caught up on sleep last night and feel quite refreshed this morning...I have no plans today so it'll be a NSD for me, the only thing I MUST do as well as working is to add screen-wash to the car.  I always use more this time of year with the salt on the roads from gritting, my car could actually do with a wash but as soon as I've been out a few times it looks the same again!

I cashed out £32 from Prolific yesterday and used it to fill 2 of my envelopes (28 and 4) so i have already paid 5 weeks extra for the envelopes :) Feeling quite good about that to be honest, especially as 4 of those are from the middle of the year so mid to high 20's in value.

I've PADded £5 to the sabbatical an sent £50 left over budget to my sinking funds. I thought about putting it in the sealed pot but that's in a decent place at the moment.

Today is a NSD for me, and although I have a day off tomorrow, I don't have any plans so I think it may well be a NSD tomorrow too.  Not sure about the weekend yet, I know I'm visiting family on Saturday so we will see what other plans come up. It's 3 weeks to pay day and things are looking OK in the accounts :) *knocks on wood*

That's all from me, I feel like I'm doing OK for the time being. Always worried about something coming left-field and sending everything awry though!

You are doing so well. Great cash out from PA. I've had some great studies from them lately.

Yeah, I tend to get flurries of them so it mounts quickly sometimes. I need to get to £24 for the next cash out though so it'll be a while I think. It's definitely the best of the survey sites in my opinion.

Yes it is. The ones that make me boggle eyed, are the ones about how much money would you like to share with another participant etc.  The instructions are longer than the actual study sometimes....lol

  • Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a nice weekend? Mine was a no spend weekend so I am feeling rather smug haha. It's going to be a NSD today too so I'm happy about that.

The PAD today included £5 to the sabbatical, £49 to the envelope challenge and £300 to the travel pot. I had a call from my dad yesterday to say he had won a bit of money on the lotto and that he was going to send me (and my sister) some as a thank you for what we do for him. I told him it wasn't necessary but he was insisting.  It was a lovely gesture so that's what has gone to the travel funds so I don't spend it on handbags!

What else? Not much really, I was off on Friday so it's been a long weekend. I don't spend time in the home office when I'm not working, which I think is a good habit... but that means I've not done any surveys either.

I will be doing some decluttering today after work and then maybe a pamper whilst watching the football.  All in all a decent Monday planned. Especially as Mr Determined is cooking this evening :)

How lovely of your dad to share his winnings with you & that he appreciates what you do for him.

  • Thanks both, yes it was a lovely thing for him to do and his money is NOT why we do what we do for him, that's for certain.

It's my day off tomorrow, I am splitting this week as some of my blocked days of work lately have left me tired. It's quite nice to only work 2 days in a row :) I have a friend who is fortunate enough to only need to work 1 day a week and sometimes I am very envious!

PAD today was £5 to the sabbatical. Not much going on in the finances at the moment, and I am out tonight. I play for a local pub team and that's why I am always out on a Tuesday. If we are away for our match then I most likely drive so the spends are lower. Oftentimes now, DSD comes along too so the spend is at least doubled which is a small price to pay for some family bonding really. Another glimpse into the RL of Determined :D

After my really good run on Prolific I seem to have jinxed myself and there are hardly any surveys for me. A few really repetitive ones which I don't want to do but no matter how often I click the 'not interested' link they still pop back after an hour or so.

I had a lovely pamper session last night, football results didn't go our way but against a bigger team it was kind of expected... I ended up doing my own nails with a high level of success so that will save me money in the future. Already saved £37 on salon fees...

I think that's all from me today, I hope everyone is doing OK and getting through these damp and dismal days with a smile on your faces. The birds are starting to tweet a bit louder, there are more glimpses of the sunshine and hopefully spring will be on it's way soon.

    Much love

  • Bit late this morning as work as been a bit of a mare. I am now taking a break for a breather and a coffee :)

PAD today included £5 to the sabbatical and £20 to travel savings, we are starting to discuss 2026 holidays so I've started a new pot for that with the £20. Won't even get me to the airport I know, but you have to start somewhere!

It's not a NSD today as I am off out for dinner this evening with a friend, I will be using my social sinking fund for this though, and we haven't seen each other since before Christmas so it will be lovely to get together for a catch up.

Had a really good day off yesterday with the family, we even played board games after dinner rather than watching TV so that was really nice. Good thing is, I only have 2 days of work until the weekend which is the best thing about having a Weds off :D

    Catch you all later
