  • Hi everyone, we had a great holiday, I arrived back on Thursday night but work on Friday (should have booked it off) was absolutely manic trying to catch up...and why do people book in meetings to fill your calendar whilst you're on holiday? Anyway, it feels like a distant memory already so I'm counting down to the next one.

Anyway, I'm back. I've been PADding as usual and I have also started the decluttering journey. Not exactly parted with loads of stuff yet but I will try and do a bit each day.  I finished a book last night so that will be going to the charity shop. I've set myself a target to read 52 books this year and I have already managed 5.

It's s NSD for me today, had a NSD weekend too so that was a real bonus.

Today's PAD is £5 to the sabbatical as usual plus £53 to the envelope challenge. I miscalculated when organising my budget so had 2 weeks worth to add this week (51 and 2) a positive mistake in my opinion!

Anyway, you're all caught up. I hope you're all OK and keeping safe and warm!

Welcome home, glad you had a lovely time. I always need at least 2 days off either side of a holiday to prepare/decompress so you’re brave logging on the following day.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Hi all, sorry I am late today, I've been busy before work today doing life admin so I'm just having a cuppa and a biscuit and catching up.  It's not a NSD today as I am going out tonight but not really got any plans for the rest of the week so that's a bonus.

My PAD today was just £5 to the sabbatical which comes out daily like clockwork as an auto-payment. Happens before I even begin to think about waking up so I never notice it :D

That's all from me. As it's a spend day today, I have ordered a few items with my Christmas money that I needed but nothing extravagant really.

    Hope you're OK?

  • Hi all, late again today as I was awake half the night with my brain going at 500 miles an hour. I am therefore struggling this morning with being 'with it' and an early call took most of my pre-8am brain power to prep. I can already tell that it will be an early night tonight!

I have just made myself another coffee though and I've sorted the finances. It's not long now until pay day which is good and it should be a little bit more due to my increase (small but every little helps!).

I've PADded £110.81 this morning, including £5 to the sabbatical, £63 from the dice rolls and anther £42.81 to savings challenges which bolster the sealed pot.  It's most definitely a NSD for me today, I am far too tired to be going anywhere to spend money.

I'm still trying to declutter, I've done 37 items now which seems so small when I've given myself a target of 2025 but I've yet to tackle a few 'problem' areas which should boost that total. Not entirely sure when I can get the oomph to tackle those but they've made it to the to-do list, so that's one small step for me.

Started book 6, it's not got me hooked as quickly as the others but I think it will be a 'grower' so I will persevere! They don't call me Little Miss Determined for nothing you know :D:D:D

Right, I'm off to my next call

  • Hi all and happy Friday! Hope you're all wel and haven't been blown away this morning with the latest storm. I'm hoping we don't get any damage in the garden as the wind is already really strong.

It's a NSD for me today again, hubby is on nights so we don't have any plans. The PAD today was left over cash budget to savings as well as the usual £5 to the sabbatical. Pay day on Monday and the increase is just over £50 after deductions although hubby and I have discussed adding more to the joint account due to the increased cost of grocery shopping so it will probably just be used there.

That's it for updates from me, I've a busy day ahead due to being off yesterday and a few threads I need to catch up on too.

    Have good weekends

  • Morning guys, I hope you all had a good weekend and survived the storms without being blown away? We were fortunate enough to get away unscathed but from the news there were some really badly impacted areas across the UK.

Today is pay day - finally! Therefore there has been a fair bit of moving money this morning and setting up the budget for the month ahead. I have also had to sort out the joint account budget, but can't remember if it's Feb and Mar we don't have to pay council tax...

This morning my PAD included additions to the 1p challenge, the £50 envelope being filled and £5 as usual to the sabbatical fund. Everything is planned for the month, all I need to do now is stick to my budget.  I do have a birthday this month but I have that covered in my gifts sinking fund so that will be fine.

It's a NSD for me today, I have no plans and will be carrying on decluttering this evening which I started over the weekend.  I've made some good progress but there's still a lot more to do.

That's all from me. Have fab Mondays

Ours is Feb & March that we don't pay council tax,  Also as out water rates are only over 8 months, we have Dec - March free of that. Then on April 1st we have to pay the once a year payment for the garden bin.  Wonder how much that will go up this year?
