Similarly, I just did my figures for April - 119kWh for gas this year v 259kWh for last April, a 56% reduction. It was a mild month here in Glasgow.
Electricity was up but that is all accounted for by use of a dehumidifier this year versus not last.

    119 Kwh of gas?

I have used double that just heating my hot water in Suffolk.

Are you sure that is 119 Kwh and not 119 m3?

It's been a cold April up here, and the forecast for the first week of May isn't looking much better.

222 Kwh of electric and and a whopping 1447 of gas.

Fortunately I'm still on a cheap fix.

Positive ~11m3. Condensing combi albeit I don't think that it ran once for ch in April.

I find some of these gas consumption figures astonishing -  for heating water alone in the hot spell last summer, we were using an average of ~ 9kwh per day of gas - ie 270kwh per month - are all these people quoting lower amounts single person households ??

As above, 2 adults and 2 kids (<7 years). 1970s 4 bed semi. New (Feb last year) 19kw Viessmann heat only boiler and new cylinder (set at 55), water goes on for 30 mins at 16:30 each day during winter, already reduced to 5 days for warmer months (off Tue and Sat) - I got it down to 4 days last summer but that did push it a little for kids baths - if it was just showers, it would be fine, very impressed with the cylinder heat retention. That works fine for myself and the kids, the wife doesn't like the pressure from the gravity shower so still used the expensive electric shower for post hospital shift deskinning. We'll do about 80kwh for each of the summer months.
